The Samsung Health App is was more feature rich than you might think. It has workouts built in with your fitness band giving it data in real time as well.
The Galaxy wearable and the Galaxy health app both work great on my Lenovo, so handy that the functionality is not just limited to Galaxy phones. Thanks Frost, great review!
Awesome! Another Samsung user. I also do the monthly step challenge and the integrated workouts. I just wish they were in class format and not the cheesy looped clips. Lol Great review, man. 👍
Hi man, looks like you have spent a while with the different systems. Which you think is the best or you will recommend take a glance at for tracking the hear rate in daily life. Not looking for exercise tracking at all, only for analyzing the heart rate is in normal conditions and sleeping. Samsung has EKG and blood pressure measurements which are good features but does the app track the hear rates well and put a history chart? I saw another video from you about the fitbit and it seems to be very solid app combined with ftibit 3 or 4 watch, but I am upset about the charge, it seems quite high per year in order to track the data. Thanks for the help in advance!
The thing with Samsung is the battery life is so low you would have to charge it during the day to get sleep tracking. Fitbit is a solid option and the Charge 5 does have ECG. You don't have to pay the extra unless you want trends longer than 7 days or you want the readiness score. If you are looking for something that tracks a longer history you could buy something medical grade. What are you using it for?
I was hoping samsung's app had the option to set weekly activity goals like fitbit. Maybe that functionality will be available at some point. Thanks for the deep dive.
So excited for the Bixby tip to control the workout. Worked well when I tested it. However, for some reason Bixby is disabled/non-responsive when I have my earbuds connected to my phone. When I press the button, it just keeps "Listening". When I put the buds in their case, it works just fine. Also works when buds are connected to the watch, which I don't really want to do. Any thoughts on a fix?
The only thing I can think that can help is turn off the Bluetooth on the watch so there is no connection there as they will just be connected to the phone. Other than that fix I would say to contact Samsung customer service to see if they have any ideas
@@FitnessWithFrost Thanks. Thought about that but wasn't sure if that would disconnect the watch from the phone. I'll give it a try. I'll reach out next to Samsung. Thanks again. Great video.
How about starting at the beginning. Besides the app on my Samsung phone, do i need a Samsung watch or other devices for the app to collect various specific data? For example, if I ride my bike...do i need the Samsung watch or some other physical device to be able to monitor my biking speed, my rpm, etc. ? What about on a stationary bike? Will i need a device besides my phone to get my heart rate blood pressure, etc. ?
Yes you will need a connected device to be able to provide that data. This review is for those who are looking to get a Samsung device and what to know what the App is all about. I do reviews of fitness bands and I don't want to do a review of the app every time I test one of their devices
@@FitnessWithFrost Hi, thank you for your quick response. I get it now. I had to ask as I'm thinking perhaps the phone itself may be capable of some of the features.✌
I have been trying to figure out how to change my macros, since the last update I cant figure this out. My protein and carbs intake is way to low in track on Samsung health. Any chance you know how to change these?
I love the app so much. The only thing I don't like is that I can't manually input it I did cardio (I don't have a watch) and I can't turn on the the start button while exercising to a youtube video. So my app doesn't know my true calories burned.
Glad you're enjoying the app. Don't try and get to caught up into calories burned. In general it isn't the most accurate acrid the board and I hope you're adding in weight training as well
hi sir, to do an accurate stress measurement what should be the body position? because I tried when sitting and standing there is a difference. How to use it properly and accurately? Thank you, please answer 🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@FitnessWithFrost I measure stress levels from morning to evening, before and after doing activities, so, accurate measurements are made in a standing position? sit? or lay down?
@@FitnessWithFrost No only the app on my Samsung. It seems the problem is with the history as some of the walking (auto) are not shown. But if I go to steps it will show the full km and activity.
That is interesting. I haven't used the app without a tracker before so I'm not exactly sure how it calculates it. Try contacting their customer service
Sadly I don't think I would be best to talk about that due to me not having a cycle. I will try and reach out to Samsung to see if they have any extra insight that might be helpful
@@FitnessWithFrost Thank you I have connected An Amazon 5 fitness band But only syncs to Google fit and then I have to sync the Google fit to Samsung health
Your definitely not wrong. You can delve into the entirety of surveillance and data mining of individuals is unsettling at the least. At this point my assumption is people already have my data (I know not a good mindset to have) but hopefully with better security it will be better in the future
The app doesn't link watch to a samsung tablet- even through a website. This is extremely stupid, it should be across platforms- especially when they are all samsung.
Terrible app and products for fitness, but you'll find that out on the Forums and the reviews, not from shills on video. Extremely inaccurate in just about every kind of reading, the food data is taken from third parties and doesn't let you scan barcodes other than being much more rigid (e.g. no custom recipes or entries) so may as well use those apps instead, the data of your workouts is calculated based on a timer instead of giving you readings from the sensors, so it tends to hugely overshoot intensity and burned calories, and it eats your phone battery like crazy even when it's in your pocket doing nothing.
My dude... I understand your frustration, but I don't think you were watching this video if this is your response. Call me a shill all you want, I'm not getting any money from Samsung, but the accurately of the device you use is not the fault of the app itself. If the sensors were better then the data would be better, but that's not the fault of the app. So to call me a shill might have made you feel better I'm the short term, but that kind of toxicity is not needed here. There is some truth to the caloric burn of a workout correlated to time, but that has been fixed in the more recent devices. To be perfectly honest I don't believe accurate caloric burn to be an important factor into the value of a device. Mostly because there isn't one device out there that will know how you burn your calories on a personal level. So to utilize calories burned to inform how you should eat is a bit misguided. So I understand the criticism and I fully embrace it, but to call me out as a shill. That's uncalled for and there is no room for that
Compared to Apple Fitness , Samsung's UI is very lacking. Information is scattered everywhere and there's a bunch of text and lists. Prefer the way Apple does it with pages and colors

How do you mute the app without turning the volume of your device down? It gets really annoying every time you start or stop walking.
