@@TampaTec Great videos!!! I have a Vizio V705-J0365 inch LED that currently has a horizontal line across the screen and vertical lines on only the left side but you can still hear and see the bottom half of the screen.Would all these symptoms be related to a TCONN?
Just cleaning the connectors with q-tips and eye glass cleaner and blowing off the circuit board cleared the multi-colored vertical lines. Wow saved repair and replace costs! Great
Hello, I recently had the same problem shown in the video and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. Is it certain that if I clean the connectors and the circuit board the fault or problem will be fixed?
I just wanted to thank you for these very helpful video's. I recently took on a new job in my company. I now repair flat screen TV's and your video's have been a true blessing. Thanks and keep them coming!
This is the best how-to video on the subject which also mentions slight variants and it was done in less than 5 mins. Definitely subscribing. Thank you!
@TampaTec I have a 2014 Samsung Plasma TV (PN51F5500) that has developed a one pixel wide solid steady green vertical line that goes from top to bottom on the right side of my screen. It does not flicker and it's there no matter the input, coax, hdmi, etc. I've done a bunch of troubleshooting from voltage checks, to putting pressure or wiggling on the screen flex cables, to inspecting and cleaning board to board ribbon cables, and nothing shows problems or makes any difference to the screen, except for one thing. When it comes to the two ribbon cables that go from the tcon board to the bottom buffer boards, if I disconnect the left side ribbon cable, so only the right side of the screen gets image, then the vertical line becomes a solid steady blue instead of green. Then when I reconnect the left cable and disconnect the right cable, so only the left side of the screen has image, instead of it being a flawless picture, it has four vertical lines in the picture. Three of those lines are only one pixel wide, and the fourth looks to be two or three pixels wide. The wider line is a purply/black color, two are black, and one is green. Those four vertical lines are closer to the center of the screen and are all spaced about an inch or two apart, but are not equally spaced. When I reconnect the right cable (so both tcon ribbon cables are connected), everything goes back to as it was before disconnecting any cables, with the screen being flawless except for that green vertical line on the right side of the screen. I should also mention that about a week ago the tv did a firmware update (2230->2240). I didn't notice any problems between then and now, other than maybe what I would call a bit of slow motion here and there when specifically playing PS4 games, but that very well may be due to just the console and not the tv. I did speak to Samsung about this and they say there's no problem with the firmware and that's definitely not the problem. They also confirmed that the firmware can only be updated and never reverted for some reason. If I assumed there's not possibly a bug in the updated firmware, then it would seem to me that the likely cause is either tied to the screen itself (including the IC chips on the directly soldered flex cables) or some fault with the main processor board (because the tcon is built into it on this tv). If it were the processor board, then it would cover both a potential hardware or firmware problem with it. The processor board is still costly enough that I can't just wing it and hope it works, but if I can be relatively sure that's the problem, if it is, I will spend the money to keep the plasma going. I'm curious as to what you think? I know a solid steady colored line typically means a screen issue, but I can get the line color to change by disconnecting one ribbon cable, plus the opposite side of the screen shows lines as well with the other ribbon cable disconnected. It makes me question whether or not it is the screen is actually the problem. Hopefully your experience can give me better guidance as to how to move forward.
I tried to let go of one, instead it turned black, not just the one whose screen is on, so it's full black. I try to remove the flexible next to it, the screen is also black just like when removing the first flexible. I greatly appreciate your help, thank you so much
Thanks for your videos, they are very instructive. I have a question: my TV Toshiba 50HP66 has 5 lines at the top and one more in the middle of the screen, horizontal lines, any idea of what the solution would be?
hey, i expected you to show us repairing the connections or any minor repairs which could have fixed this v-lines issue without replacing the T-con board entirely.
Thanks for the Info bro.. i just fix my LG tv 32ls3510 i used hot air on my T-com board and clean some flex thanks to you i just diagnose my TV correctly..
Got 5lines (different colours) to the left side of my sharp TV was wondering if it was fixable & I guess so after looking at your video. Great video & very well explained as I'm gonna give this a try. 👍👍👍😁🇮🇪
Great video. My issue is more streaky than firm lines. The picture is gray, wobbles, and for a time would normalize after warming up. Now seems not to be normalizing. Is this also t-tom board or a different issue?
Possibly T-con board or main logic board but need to troubleshoot to be sure. Get TV boards at shopjimmy.com. u can use heat gun or hot air dryer on boards to see which board it is.
Great vids! Saved me time and money quite a few times since watching!! I have a SAMSUNG which powers up ok but after 20 to 30 mins, once it's warmed up, it develops a slight but VERY noticeable double image making it unwatchable. Tried a New T-con board and cleaned Ribbons and Connectors but still has the same problem! Whats best place to focus on next?
Videos are really illustrative and easy to understand. Great work. I have an RCA RTU4300 only connected to a Firestick. When I power on the TV, I get vertical lines (bars) on the entire screen. Wait 2 or 3 minutes and the lines go away ... TV is perfect from that point on. Could this be a problem with connections to the T-Con board?

Try to do a microscopic analysis on the original t-con board to see what exactly went wrong with it and why it became defective in the first place.
That kinda works, parts often fail with no visible dame and often parts that blow up (visible damage) the failure was coursed by other failed part and part that is visible damaged may have caused other psrts to fail. Testing is the real and best answer to diagnose what actually failed....
Thank you .. it’s really knowledgable. I have LG LG 49UB850T-TA which have same problem. There is 6 vertical stable lines and increasing. Can you please tell me if I can fix this by changing the led panel. Here the repair center’s are telling huge price for the repair. Please advise on this .
LG 55in 3D vertigo Redline. I've ordered the t-con board from eBay, if that doesn't work I feel very challenged to take all the housing off to inspect for damage on the ribbons. Thank you for your help I would have never gotten this far if it wasn't for you.
Your videos are good, but they are mostly replacing parts, not repairing! I was looking for a vertical line repairs component level trouble shooting and fix. Thank you however and keep up the good work.🍻

@@TampaTec I replaced all 4 boards in my vizio e50-d1. And I still have flickering horizontal lines on the bottom of quarter of my screen. I noticed when I disconnect the right ribbon cable from my TV on board the flickering stops, and yes half of the screen is black, but the other half is on and doesnt flicker. Is this a sign of a bad lcd panel?
Hey TempaTec, what your doing for us is amazing by the way, I have a screen issues I don't understand how to describe it. Is there a way I can share you a video of it or picture so that you can help me fix it

My Samsung 60" flat screen has a 'vertical 4" pixelized band'. The strange thing is that it sometimes is there and sometimes its not (it comes and goes!). Is this a T-con issue? Thanks!
I have an LG tv that has horizontal lines on the bottom 3rd of the tv that comes and goes. Picture is fine but the lines show up in static form off and one. Will replacing the t-comm board fix it?
I’ve had a Visio tv that’s having problems with lines for three years now. It got more permanent yesterday and figured the tv was dead. I watched this video. Going to try this out. Thanks
Tv work for few mins then splits to 3 parts. Start flicking a little then turned to 3 parts. Do you think it Tcon board ? It is a Hisense 50 HD 50H5G. I really learned some stuff from your videos. Thank you so much!!
Great Video! I have an LCD sony kdl46-xbr3 with horizontal lines that are blue and pink/reddish. When I plug in the TV it works for about a minute then it starts with those horizontal lines. I also see the green TV power light on the bottom of the TV. What could it be? and can I get the parts?
Permanent solid black Horizontal lines isn't a bad tcon board that issue is a Bad LCD screen. Vertical lines lllll usually bad tcon board or tcon cable connections.
I have what was shown in one of the pictures of the examples of a bad t-con board but it only happens when the TV has been switched off & when I turn it on it has the lines so bad that it covers the screen but it will clear up after about 30 or 40 minutes. If there is a static image or little movement it can take up to an hour & a half but it always clears up eventually. Is that still a t-con issue? I'm just trying to be certain as I may have to fix this myself as most repair shops won't even look at it because they claim that it isn't worth repairing as the parts needed costs more than the TV is worth. It's old & finding a main board is pretty much impossible to find & the very rare few that I can find would knock me back between $400 to $500 but I can find almost all the other parts including the T-con & power board fairly easily & reasonably priced. Everything else works fine, even if the software is a little dated due to obsolescence but the picture & lighting is great for a 1080p TV when it's warmed up. I can find Canadian versions of the main board but it has two antenna plugs, unlike the Australian model but I could work around that with drilling a hole in the plastic shell of the TV but then I am uncertain of the voltage issues as Australia works on 240v 50Hz networks where Canada runs on 120v 50Hz power but I could hazard a guess that his may be more of an issue for the power board, much like the PSU's to a computer. The TV had water splash on it a few years back because someone left a windows open when it rained & shorted out the TV but the lines didn't start until about 2 weeks after this happend but it has been like that ever since. It's an old problem that I've been trying to solve on & off for years but I have been hitting brick walls with the local TV repairmen so I'd really appreciate some clarity on the issue narrow it down without having to throw away too much money. I know computers. I have built & repaired many but I have never even considered digging into fixing the home appliances until recently. Could you offer me any advice on the matter please?
So far the T-con sounds like the most likely & it is one of the cheapest parts to get but I know nothing about the variables like any other possible causes of this problem. I know very little about the inner workings of an LED LCD 3D TV.
I have a samsung lcd tv that has 2 green permanent horizontal lines at the bottom of the screen, and the tv starts to glow bright white after being turned on for a few minutes. Is that the same thing?
Thanks for the clarification. Mine has horizontal line, Started off with 1 or 2 line and now a couple months later has several horizontal lines. I switched out the tcon board anyway since they are fairly inexpensive and didn't work so i guess i have a bad screen.
Your videos are really helpful. I have a problem with a 37 inch Westinghouse This tv has a fully whited out screen with black and Grey wide vertical bars it has sound. I replaced the TCon board and no change What else could cause this problem.
What’s up Tampa Tec. Awesome video. Quick question. I have a Samsung 65” 2 year old tv (2018). I have just noticed 1 Horizontal whiteish line. It is about 1/4 down from the top. Any thoughts? Worth fixing myself? How much will a shop charge? Thank you
Good video tampatec I have a 39 inch Philips tv that has red lines on top and at bottom of screen and had just a small visible screen in the middle that's watchable can you tell me what's wrong with my tv I was thinking t-con board but not for sure
Brilliant, thankyou again for your most helpful vidz. So far ive found bad caps and dry joints and diodes to be the problems. Keep your videos coming, invaluble info - cheers 👍
I've got vertical lines that go away as the Philips/LG TV warms up. Any ideas? The lines are there when the TV is cold no matter the input source and across the OSD. So I don't really suspect the powerboard or mainboard. T-Con or worse... LCD panel itself. Also when observing with a magnifying glass and verifying the colors. The blue diodes operate in that vertical line, but red and green burn intermittently on each horizontal line. So from the 1080p screen there are 540 leds operating green and 540 leds red. What do you think? My first bet is a bad solder on either the connector going to the side with the issue, or a bad solder on the main chip on the T-Con board. Although that might be hoping for better rather than worse, which is the glue on one of those panel cables.
This is my second tv getting the virtical lines off of the screen. Seemed like things were going well I cleaned the connects with alcohol pad and attached back in place. I turned it on and seen the chanel so i turned off and sprayed with air to get clean before I checked it better inside my house. I plugged it in and now nothing. Vizio lights up at bottom and the screen flickers just a bit when turned on but nothing else. Tried to redo the clamps and tried making certain their in right position but still nothing. Guessing it might be gone now. I had to have done something to cause this though. I just don't know what I could have done. Thanks for listening
Thanks for your videos they are pretty helpful however what really is the problem when the lines are permanent and without pictures the screen only has green and pink horizontal lines?
Would you suggest buying a warranty program for an LG C7 55" TV? What TV's have a better reliability rating that you experience? You can answer if you feel comfortable about an educated opinion. I noticed that this TV has gone from 2999 to 1699 in price. I know that upcoming new tvs are coming out and we passed the black friday to superbowl discounting
🤔 can be worth it, if the repairman can't fix the TV in 3 service calls usually you get a replacement TV same model or newer model. Warranty costs about 10% of the TV, so $1,600 TV that warranty would cost roughly 160. Avg TV repair service cost $200 roughly including parts and labor. Do it yourself TV board replacement cost roughly $100. Remember TV Warranty doesn't cover damage or theft. About 1 out of 10 TVs will fail in 5 years but Toshiba TV have lower failure rate. I see TV failure because of surges, humidity, backlight settings set to Max which burn out the LED strips faster in the backlight. So consumer care will prolong your TV life. Hope this helps. I don't buy TV warranty but if it's free it's for me. Remember every new TV comes with free 1 year factory warranty. 👍 Sub and like if this helped.
@@TampaTec thanks, based on your response/advice I changed/calibrated the settings to my backlight to minimum (the setting recommendations were from Rtings website). I think/know that will save my backlight. Always look for advice from the experts. Also, this Sony 49"800e needs to be calibrated for each HDMI. Reading before buying a TV helps as I didn't know the difference from a VA or IPS for angle viewing. Retailers would never tell you that.
Nice video, i have a question for my samsung 65inch smart tv. I transported it laying screen facing down then after i arrived home only half of screen is working. Can you tell me what parts needed to replace.
Vertical lines on tcl 55 , tried to remove each ribbon to see if i could see if it was one aside but now when i reattached now one side is white , one side is black with some vert lines
I have black horizontal lines on one of my TV's, they are static and evenly spaced, so I choose to think of them as scan lines, gives it a retro feel when gaming emulators.
Hi tampatec really enjoy your videos and learn from them. I have a Samsung "60" led tv and it has two permanent horizontal lines Is it the panel? Or could it be the tcon board? Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Saw this was an old one, but my Element Roku TV has thin horizontal lines. They diminish after it warms up but still there. Is this a TCon board?
I have a insignia lcd NA-50L440NA14 With two horizontal lines going through the screen what could be the problem? I’m pretty good MacGyver repairing things I’m willing to give it a shot
i have a samsung LN-t4069f that starts off with a grey screen with audio...then as it warms up the picture will come on if i turn it off then on again. ...but after a random time, the picture gets green lines around everything in the picture. like focus peaking on a camera. im going to give your fix a go and see. thanks for posting. i hope it looks like the LG board. thanks for posting this.

Is this statement true for the newer Samsung qled tv's. I have 1 vertical line probably the size of my pinky more towards r/s of TV?
I have a samsung lcd tv that has 2 green permanent horizontal lines at the bottom of the screen, and the tv starts to glow bright white after being turned on for a few minutes. Is that the same thing?
Thanks for the clarification. Mine has horizontal line, Started off with 1 or 2 line and now a couple months later has several horizontal lines. I switched out the tcon board anyway since they are fairly inexpensive and didn't work so i guess i have a bad screen.
Thanks for the video bro. I tried to fix my TH-L55ET5M with black stripes but failed. anyhow enjoyed the efforts
very useful. i will try this with my lg8500 - it has somilar horizontal lines at the bottom of the screen
I love you man you save me a lot of money I don’t have thumbs up ...
Tampatec you are the BEST. Great info and instructions!
Thanks.
I have on my tv Samsung UN75F8000AFXZA horizontal & vertical lines on the screen..How to fix it?
how it is that you don't know if it's the t-con board or if it's a bad panel?
Your videos are really helpful. I have a problem with a 37 inch Westinghouse This tv has a fully whited out screen with black and Grey wide vertical bars it has sound. I replaced the TCon board and no change What else could cause this problem.
Look at t com and power supply birds for bulging capacitor replace them and Bord is usually fifed.
Great video. Was waiting on one like this. Going to try to fix my Inlaws mitsubishi lcd tv
Thank you
Hey man this tutorial is very helpful for me thank you man
Wow 🤩 really helpful,Wonder if this can work with my TV
Good video tampatec I have a 39 inch Philips tv that has red lines on top and at bottom of screen and had just a small visible screen in the middle that's watchable can you tell me what's wrong with my tv I was thinking t-con board but not for sure
Brilliant, thankyou again for your most helpful vidz. So far ive found bad caps and dry joints and diodes to be the problems. Keep your videos coming, invaluble info - cheers 👍
Thank you for sharing valuable information
Excellent. How much prices of tcon board?
If I have a permanent vertical line should I even try this? Or should I just check the panel? Thanks in advance
Thanks for your videos they are pretty helpful however what really is the problem when the lines are permanent and without pictures the screen only has green and pink horizontal lines?
Can you show how to repair a vertical line on the right side of screen of a lg60pk250?
Unreal....the exact problem for my exact tv. THANK YOU!
Never buy LG tvs . i bought mine and in less than 3 week it broke. There was a pink line across the screen and it started flickering
Hello, nice job, if the screen look like that’s, is the video board ? Right, thanks 🙏
Nice video, i have a question for my samsung 65inch smart tv. I transported it laying screen facing down then after i arrived home only half of screen is working. Can you tell me what parts needed to replace.
Always enjoy your repair videos. Big thumbs up! Thanks paul. Joel
Vertical lines on tcl 55 , tried to remove each ribbon to see if i could see if it was one aside but now when i reattached now one side is white , one side is black with some vert lines
Hi, can all T-CON boards be used on all LED TVs?
I have black horizontal lines on one of my TV's, they are static and evenly spaced, so I choose to think of them as scan lines, gives it a retro feel when gaming emulators.
thx very much..but what does it look like ..and were can i get one?
Hi tampatec really enjoy your videos and learn from them. I have a Samsung "60" led tv and it has two permanent horizontal lines Is it the panel? Or could it be the tcon board? Thanks in advance.
Tampatec you rock.. Really learn a lot from your videos, keep up the good work
thanks Lloyd :)
Hi , Great job on the info videos you do on fixing flat screen TV's and how to troubleshoot them. I have an RCA L32D10 which i got from a friend. It powers on ok but quarter way from the bottom i get a thin horizontal line the the screen starts to show vertical lines also which makes the video look washed out. I don't know if you ever came across this type of problem but i would like your thoughts an ideas on how i can solve this problem. Thanks in advance any help will be deeply appreciated.
So it's a permanent line it's a faulty panel. Is there a quick fix for that or we have to inevitably get an entire new panel to replace it?
Thanks. Saw this was an old one, but my Element Roku TV has thin horizontal lines. They diminish after it warms up but still there. Is this a TCon board?
Thanks for sharing sir new supporters here
I have a insignia lcd NA-50L440NA14 With two horizontal lines going through the screen what could be the problem? I’m pretty good MacGyver repairing things I’m willing to give it a shot
Awesome. You should narrate for a living. Send demos to companies needing video instruction. They'd be nuts to pass.
i have a samsung LN-t4069f that starts off with a grey screen with audio...then as it warms up the picture will come on if i turn it off then on again. ...but after a random time, the picture gets green lines around everything in the picture. like focus peaking on a camera. im going to give your fix a go and see. thanks for posting. i hope it looks like the LG board. thanks for posting this.
Mr. Can you please give some advice on the best quality wifi built in and mhl compatible tv that last?
Hi good video. I have Samsung with 4 permanent horizontal black lines. Would this fix work or it needs a new lcd screen? Thank you
Do you have video on troubleshooting Vizio led 4k that has black vertical line consistent wide actually
So, in the end, what was the problem with the T-con board?
Do you have a video on have to change a buffer board. It looks like it’s glued or something to the connectors
Awesome 👍 thank you for saving our family $$$ on "just getting another tv" 😉
Hey man, was excited to see that you're a fellow NYer until I read further and saw that you're in Tampa now lol. Anyways, glad I ran across your channel (and sub'd) as I just started to get into electronics so youtube has always been my best teacher. Currently trying to fix a vertical line in a Samsung TV. Big project for a total newb but it was donated so no fear lol. Will be checking more of your videos and keep up the great work.
Thank you! Does this hold good for an LG OLED TV?
