- I have written a blog as well on this:
www.manishbang...
This is the video if you wanted to understand work flow of how application deployment works.
I have covered:
1. List of log files covered for application deployment troubleshooting.
2. Flow chart of app deployment including components and logs
3. Demo - showing log files and important things under it to monitor.
Following are the most important log files for application deployment:
1. PolicyAgent.log
2. AppEnforce.log
3. AppDiscovery.log
4. AppIntentEval.log
5. LocationServices.log
6. CAS.log
7. ContentTransferManager.log
8. DataTransferServices.log
Few other log files (optional), majority of time above mentioned log files are the one which will help you:
ccmexec.log
CCIAgent.log
CIDownload.log
CIStateStore.log
DCMAgent.log
DCMReporting.log
PolicyAgentProvider.log
PolicyEvaluator.log
StatusAgent.log

Hi Manish, I wanted to understand how we can create a single task sequence and with the help of one task sequence we deploy windows language pack specific to the country, like suppose my company has presence in multiple countries and I want to use only one /single task sequence to deploy the OS but each country will get their country specific windows language like for france user will get their OS windows languages in French language and so one. Can you let me know what kind of logic I should use to full fill this requirement. Kindly help
I am not able to deploy my application😢😢 under logs nothing is showing related my app content😢
Hi thank you so much for all tour videos. I am trying to push a software which supersedes the old version, uninstall option is unchecked, force reboot is applied via command line to the Msi package. When I push that package to machines without maintenance windows it’s working well but when I try to push to machines with maintenance windows I am getting past due will retire error I am not sure why I’m getting that it looks like machine needs to reboot to get the new version. But in some machines it says content download in deployment status for some it says error no current or future maintenance window
Answer- The run time of the app didnt match the maintence window
User has seen application to installed howevee when he has click installed option in software centre it has not installed what will be the reason and how will trouble shoot
We have to check appenforce.log to see what is happening
@@ManishBangia your videos are great for SCCM learners, Can you make a video on the same as @TheUttam86 requested.
Where are these files located?? You should put the path in the description. Only mentioning the file names is USELESS.
Apologies, miss from my side. Location is c:\windows\ccm\logs.
Sir, Very Informative and easy to understand.
Can we use to log check same log scheme while window patches deployment?
Thanks!
For windows patch, downloading and gettimg DP info remains same. But few other log files are involveled related to scanning of updates.
@@ManishBangia Thanks.
@@ManishBangia if you could make windows patching related video it will be very helpful . Thank you in advance
If the application is stuck at 50% downloading in software center and if there was network disconnect and reconnect any way to resume from 50% or need to start from beginning ? appreciate your help on this
It should continue from 50% as it uses BITS in the backend.
Hello Sir,
In case of package model do we have same log flow or is there any difference?
For package model, execmgr.log is used which will replace appenforce.log and other app related logs. Remaining logs such as cas, dts will still be used. I will soon create a similar video, but focusing on package model.
@@ManishBangia thank you so much sir for your response
Nice video sir👍👍
I have one issue on app deployment.. I have deployed one application n on the status it showing content downloaded but in progress ?? How to trouble shoot in this case??
If it is getting stuck with “in progress”, then I would check contenttransfermanager.log - I am expecting it will show “ctm job suspended” which means:
1. Either content is not distributed to DP
Or
2. Device is not able to locate the DP based upon the boundary.
Check another log file ie. locationservices.log - to check and see if it returned the list of DP for your application.
