Bravo! To the last lecturer for explanation on celebration of birthdays . Sir you have captured the spirit of Islam . May Allah inspire you always. Ameen.
Regarding the last scholars explanation, well it is forbidden to celebrate anything annually except for 2 eids. A new house ceremony or graduation, or any form of happiness expressed in celebration is acceptable. But it shouldn't be done yearly like we do in birthday celebration and it also has origin from pagans.
Genesis 40:20 (Torah): On the third day, which was Pharaoh 's birthday, he made a feast for all his servants and lifted up the head of the chief cupbearer and the head of the chief baker among his servants. National Geographic Society published a book named - An uncommon history of common things: Ancient Greeks (the pagans-idol worshippers) made moon-shaped cakes as part of the ritual for the lunar goddess artemis and decorating these cakes with candles to give them a moon like glow. (The Greek Pagan Ritual). This was a way of worship to them. Making honey cakes- Satan Worshippers ( The Satanic Bible) written by Anton Szandor LaVey: He wrote in it that highest of all holidays in the satanic religion is the date of one’s own birth. This is the most beloved, most practiced and the highest of festivals of those who worship satan.
As a Muslim we celebrate our birthdays 5 salah a day and Friday we celebrate our great grandparents Adam and Hawa birthday by coming together to listen to the message.
Quraan talks about BIRTHDAY s of prophets and about Rejoicing. We in Sri Lanka , though a Buddhist country did celebrate according to the Quraan, sending lots of Blessings and listening to the seerah. Till in the post 1980 open economy, everyone went to get the petro dollar. Families broke up and everything was shirk and Biddah 😂. Since then sri lankan Muslims suffered the last beeing the forced cremation of their dead. Alhamdulillah for the mercy to the worlds we have realised our mistakes this year Alhamdulillah the masajids are packed to recite the moulid after farl Namaz except for a few who have majority saudi influence in the mosque organisations. Jazakallah khair to brother Yassir Qadhi, MashaAllah, Allah has truly given us an understanding through your talks, to be silent, to people who are deaf and blind, they can't see the present descendents , and other imaams who celebrate daily, weekly and encourage the masses to at least rejoice annually. Anyone sincerely looking for the correct interpretation of all this will certainly find it. We will be questioned only what we do, and to all those who discourage doing of an Amal, i dont know how he will be dealt with.
Really? which part of surah in Quran talks about birthday celebration? being happy and celebrate the occasion are different.please mention the verse from quran
Besides the birthday celebration of a Muslim is wrong date s well..we follow lunar calendar... simple way to live life is try to ask urselves if the Prophet Muhammad Saw and Sahaba practised those actions then u follow... what they didn't do and didn't encourage it we shouldn't follow
Ahmad deedat and all the sheikhs who are coming from the ahlul baith, and lots more except for a few arrogant , say to commemorate as they know we are not able to do it throughout the year, like the Sahaba did. Like Ramadan for Ibada, this helps us to love the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam and increasing the sending of Blessings. Jazakallah khair Brother Yassir Qadhi.
As a former kuffar you could not be more correct. Please brothers and sisters do not do what we do in any way. Do not work to please the people, work to please Allah. 🙏 Honestly, a bit of poison is not okay, stay away.
Alhamdulillah, rejoicing in the Birth of our beloved, is not biddah but of course that doesn't mean you do something Haram or miss your farl prayers or do something which is against the Quraan and Sunnah. I am just another Muslim but I will tell Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam that these Biddah sheikhs stopped our children from coming together bringing unity and sending lots of Blessings as stated in the Quraan as a great Amal, and listening to the seerah, which melts our hearts. All this has stopped as our children consider now to be a great sin told by these biddah sheikhs. May Allah Subhanawathaala bring us back to Islam the real Islam to meet our beloved and drink from the kauthar.
People think they are right because it’s personal celebration but just they want to make haram to halal because they do . When i see this type of comment and discussion that this is not haram I remembe’‘ there will be time people make haram thing to halal ‘’
but brother i don;t think this hadees fits here, as what the last scholar said that prove it that it's haram, personal celebrations doesn't lies in this (haram) category. Aren't we imitating the wetren cloths? food? Beloved Prophet (PBUH) do said that don't imitate the west, but in context with communal celebrations and other things not the personal celebrations. Don't we throw small party or give treat on passing exam or graduation or any kind of happiness? so why can't we celebrate birthdays? i said it all politely and expecting a polite response dear brother. May Allah bless you
@@_Pretty_flowersI was wondering this too, if I was born on this day why wudnt it b special to me, just coz older generations didnt know when they were born doesn't mean its the same now too. Eidh means everytime ...everyear your happy to celebrate..no mention in hadith or in Qur'an to celebrate every year except the two eidh ...because every day is we should be thankful because our life expand for doing good deeds....and be thankful....

Eid is a celebration celebrated by the community and we do it because its a practice in our religion, birthdays are personal not communal. You probably didn't even listen to what Shaykh Yasir said.
Many people are warning against yasir qadhi.....no one from the salaf celebrated birthdays...its not part of islam...and most importantly birthday is from the pagans ...why on earth anyone would celebrate a year lost from his life:)
@layman- You can't dismiss EVERYTHING a person says just because they happen to be wrong about a few, what have people said about Dr Yasir Qadhi in this video. Also nobody ever said birthdays are a part of islam, when a muslim celebrates his/her birthday they don't expect a reward from Allah or anything like that. The pagans had their own demonic rituals, I don't see people nowadays doing that when celebrating birthdays.
@@SoliderBoi_ actually we say not to listen to him at all .. as layman can't differentiate between right or wrong... secondly it doesn't have to be demonic ritual or stuffs, blowing candle and cake itself is a ritual itself..and majority of scholars say it's prohibited to celebrate birthday
@layman- thats the whole point laymen can't differentiate between right and wrong that's why they ask the scholars or else what's the point of listening to ANY scholar for the matter? You seem to be indicating that we should disregard what he's saying for no reason. Blowing candles and cutting cake is not a ritual its a celebration and not all birthdays have cakes and candles so even if you were right about it being a ritual it doesn't explain how birthdays as a whole are haram. Again with all due respect to the scholars, nothing indicates it's haram

Zakir Naik and all those who call a birthday celebration 'Haram' should have their heads examined. Firstly, Both of the Eids and Friday are celebrations of the Religion as in whole, while a birthday of an individual is a personal celebration wherein well wishes from his well wishers and families are blessed and bestowed upon him. They are two very different type of celebrations and a birthday celebration can also be looked upon as a celebration of the day when Allah gifted this individual a life. Secondly, Islam is a free flowing religion, free flowing of thoughts and ideas, free flowing of exchange of blessings, free flowing of compassion, free flowing of goodness, free flowing of happiness and it should be kept that way and not get constricted which these dumb minded preachers intend on doing. All I have to say is Celebrate every breath you take and offer your deepest gratitude to Allah for it. Islam does not constrict goodness and happiness. Celebrate your Birthdays and always dedicate a moment on your birthday to express your gratitude to Allah for gifting you this life this day. Amen.
Eid can be celebrated but making wishes on birthdays are deprived from Pagan traditions. As the prophet (SAW) said, " Whoever imitates a people is one of them". I agree with you, Islam is a free flowing religion allowing for happiness, however, remember that EVERY religion has restrictions. Allah has allowed you to be free, to be this and that, but does that mean you go against his rules?? The Quran?? No. Read the Quran, read the hadith. Allah knows best. Follow his words. Once again I agree!! Wish for deepest gratitude to Allah and Inshallah we will all find happiness. But It's best to do it the way Allah has said so.
@@purrtite no one is imitating the Eid Celebrations. I understand our Prophet's perspective that nothing can be celebrated as Eid as the Kings would be inclined to. I'm no king, so it is not for me, as long as I'm celebrating my birthday as a personal celebration and thank Allah on that day for giving me life and blessing me of being born in Islam, so why does it become Haram? No human can determine what is Haram except Allah and the word of Allah is Quran, so if it is not in the Quran then it is not Haram.
