would love to see a workshop flow kind of video , or multiple repairs combined in one long video. i know it takes a long time to edit and you don't have that time , but im hoping for that day to come. would actually rather watch a video like that than a Netflix series or a movie. keep up the good work as always.
I’ve watched quite a few of your repair videos, but they continue to be highly enjoyable. I love what you’re able to do with good flux and low melt solder.
"but"!!??? That is a contradictory conjunction word used to denote a change in the sentence's theme. "I like to chop off the heads of mice "but", I don't like to hurt little animals" is an example of that. So which is it? You "watch his videos" BUT "they continue to be highly enjoyable". OK, maybe you should have said, "I've watched quite a few of your repair videos AND they continue to be highly enjoyable" MUCH BETTER don't you agree? OK, so glad to help out with your grammatical needs Sir. Come back anytime as I am usually here..............waiting......................with nothing to do.............................Bye!
the key to this job as he says is putting the solder on top of the connector, TO LOOSEN the connector. if you didn't get why, he said it in the video, the solder apple uses is LEAD FREE. The LEADED solder Alex is using has a lower melting point. so when the hot LEAD solder comes into contact with the LEAD FREE solder, it all melts and mixes, and thus lowers the melting point of the APPLE solder, and thats why you add solder to loosen solder. apologies if im out of place, just thought that was an important piece of info that some may get confused on. Im loving these videos
I will always remember you with all my heart and love for your efforts in making every lesson enjoyable and educational. Your inspiring lessons improve my skills every time I want you to know that you are without a doubt the best teacher, and you not just a teacher in fact A respectable personin in my life because I learnt to many thing from you.
Didnt expect a video at this time, so i watched it in the morning with a cup of coffee before work. It is very relaxing. Nice work as always. Thank you for the video
So, that would make him the, "KOS"........RIGHT? YEAH, KING ALEX!!!! HIP, HIP, HURRAH!!! HAIL TO THE KING!!!! LONG LIVE THE KING OF SOLUTIONS!!! Ok, too much, I know.
It's an amazing tiny piece of work with alot of precision. Every video is so nice and I always learn something from your videos sir. Applause and all the best ahead. Keep up the good work 👏👏👍👏👏👈❤🌷🌹
Better than factory. Brilliant job like normal. You need a full size clamp for the screen. Those clamps are good for small jobs but found they don't give equal pressure.
If you have a micro camera then look for any obvious spots like "burned" or discolored components especially CAPS and MOSFETS. (No, micro camera.............then use a good magnifying glass and LED light source) IF not then hook up some power to the board and IF you have a heat camera then look for the hot spots. OH, you should have tested for shorts also in the beginning. Remember that a bad component might be on the other side of the board or away from the shorted area. The Northridge "rosin tester" is a good way to find bad components if you don't have a heat camera. AND you can put alcohol on a component with power hooked up to see if it evaps quickly from the heat. Using a slow and methodical process using these steps will get you to a conclusion of the problem. Then comes the fun of removal and replacement. Following Mr. Alex's tutorials on component removal (being careful that there are no other components that might melt under solder iron or heat gun near by which you can use aluminum foil to cover) de-soldering and re-soldering using his low melt solder and copper wick method, and then finding the exact matching component and then re-soldering it back on the board will make you an EXPERT. REMEMBER to FLUX, FLUX, FLUX, whenever removing a component. You might even heat some low melt solder on the component as well to mix with the original solder to make it an easy removal. Also the diagnosis and repair of the board's damaged pads is essential. Using either CAD6 or CAD 5 wire to make new pad circumvents is a great idea as well. Tools like micro tweezers, micro solder tips, heat gun with adjustable heat and the power adjustment source are all essential in making your repairs just as "better than factory" as Alex makes them look so easy to do. It's basically surgery. Remember the game, " Operation"? Yeah, just like that only more micro. ZZZZZZZit~ OUCH!!
You always refer to the low melt Alex but what is the other solder wire that you use when putting components back in place. It just always looks so shiny. I want my work to look "Better than factory" like yours lol
I would like to attempt to do this repair. It doesn’t look too difficult. Where would I get the flux and low melt solder? Is there a preference to the brand you like and does it make that much difference between the manufacturers?
I don't even use hot air for ports. Just put a huge blob of solder on your iron and go back and fourth and work the port off. No hot air and risk involved. Idk how many times I've gotten wrecked boards from people using hot air when not even needed on these
"Big Boss" had magnifying glass inserted into his eyes and a built in LED light inserted into his forehead. He's like the $6 million dollar man but discounted to $38.50.
Flickering with the Apple logo after replaced the charging port Flex on ipad 6, any idea please advise 🙏... thank you much in advance 👍and I think it's battery issue because if I unplugged the cable, there's nothing on the screen. But before I replaced charging port, it displayed red battery icon and charging cable
Enough, but not too much. Takes experience for that kind of skill. IF you have some old boards about, practice on them by removing components and then putting them back on. It's the same method as how to get to Carnegie Hall. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!!
I have iPad 6, but mine is having Apple appears on and off when plugged in, do have any advice, please help. I’ve heard that is battery issue, but I did replace battery but it’s still having the same issue :(
He might have come into the shop to do some catch-up so that his loyal customers that he cares about won't have to wait for their stuff. OR, he did this one on Friday and is just getting round to sending it out. But, I choose to believe the first of my choices.

It would take a lot time to edit🙂
IF you live near his shop then just go and see if he'll let you stand there all day and film.
He might put you to work though.

You make a very difficult repair look so easy not jealous at all lol great video 👍👍👍
OH, come on! You're jealous and you know it.
But, that's ok.
Yet another better than factory repair. Great job!
Better than factory. Brilliant job like normal. You need a full size clamp for the screen. Those clamps are good for small jobs but found they don't give equal pressure.
Yeah, I agree. I know that I could build a good equal pressure clamp for that kind of repair.
The job is done!!!
Better than factory!
Nothing like a professional job
Yeah, I know this feeling when you are pretty sure soldering is easy but makes harder when you already soldering something
As always...Better than factory!! Nice job! :-)
No wonder people are sending in failed repair attempts....you make it look sooo easy! ;-)
Glad to see you back with a new video
Don't understand why people giving a dislike.
Nice, professional, and beautiful job👍
It looks easy... but damn it is hard when you try it yourself... nice repair video...
Another fine job, would be interested in trying micro-soldering one day.
after watching the video: "oh snap that was easy"
tried to work on a non-working MOBO: "what the heck am I doing"

Do yourself and use an integrated heating element tip iron and have a best hot air station on standby and some low melt
Awesome job Alex.

without fume extractor the microscope lens would get a film on it right? especially rosin powder and the solder smoke
I would like to see masta unlock his third hand achievement
Awesome job bro better than factory keep rocking bro 👍👍👍
As always, better than factory job!
الله ينور عليك تسلم ايديك الله يعطيك العافية

I would like to know what for a soldering station you use
As usual...an amazing video from iamazing repait man. Salute!
How much does such a job cost? Not including connector.
What can cause a black screen after 2-3 minutes gaming, I got a GTX 980 Ti?
Lino to buy solder ? I need to do this on my 6gen iPad

Very satisfying 👌👌

Big Boss definitely needs to have camera. Disassembling and assembling back the devices is very difficult task.
Needs a seperate channel 🤭🤭

Hey sweet repair as always!
Wondering what happened to the giveaways? You don't owe it to us, am just curious. Thank you.
Christmas is coming and he needs to save his money for gifts.
I know I'm on his list.

Gold Hands 👐
I type in:” never gonna give you up” and that’s the third thing that shows up.
There should be a Rick roll video of Alex repairing phones and laptops
How much pressure do you apply when soldering?
Enough, but not too much.
Takes experience for that kind of skill.
IF you have some old boards about, practice on them by removing components and then putting them back on.

Butter than factory 😇
I had no idea that the factory used "butter" to join components.
Does it make them smell like theatre popcorn when you plug in the board?
MMMMMMM. all that buttery flavor and good connection too!

Only Apple will use both solder and glue on a connector.
