I’m 61, take my old camera with me probably all the time. I happened upon your channel and I thank you for your content. I at times get criticised bc I take photos of sand, dirt, items on the ground nature or not. So many things I see differently others find funny 🤷🏽♀️ Regardless, your content is great and I appreciate you 🙏🏽
Glad you became more "grounded" in your photography, Kim. The connection is not just visual when you really take time to look at where you are. It is healing. Great images!
Hi Kim, New to your channel & I must say it's a lovely change to the normal photo blogger channels, you discuss how you feel at the time of your video, detailing how sometimes it's ok to be less than enthusiastic as well as being super excited, this is a true reflection of our mental health just now. I have been an avid amateur photographer since purchasing my first SLR camera back in 1981 then moving to medium format then back to SLR before joining the digital age with my DSLR. which created a new found love of photography, no longer worrying about only having 36 exposure film or slides with my SLR or 10 or 8 shots with medium format roll films. Keep up the good work Kim with true to life vlogs. Kindest regards Phil.
I usually hate when people post edit too much but the way you use it, is truly lovely. You have given me a boost of inspiration, a boost of support I desperately needed.
I have just come across this video and instantly recognised your location here. I have spent many summers on this beach and you have reminded me, that I have taken some gorgeous sunset photos here in the past. I used to be right into going out with the camera, however not so much anymore and I'm at the stage of giving up with it. But I must say, seeing this scenery again and your interesting take on something so simple, has given me some inspiration. I would just like to say, thank you for this! 🙂👌
I haven't done a lot of macro photography, but focus stacking is definitely useful for that. I never thought of extending it's use to landscape photography, usually relying on a small aperture to keep everything in focus.
I recently moved to using a compact digital camera and one thing I like about it vs. interchangeable lens camera is the wide depth of field, which is great for landscape pictures.
Liked! Wonderful presentation. I especially appreciate how you worked with a beach, without using clouds or permanent terrain features, to be so very creative. Here on the upper Gulf Coast, of Texas, where flat coastal plain meets sandy and muddy beaches, there are no significant dunes, no tall trees, no rocks, and a minimal tidal range, but you have shown how to creative something so significant, with such simple, low terrain features. Thanks!
Thanks for this Kim, it's good to be reminded that there is no such thing as a failed shot, just another opportunity to learn something, had really fallen out of love with photography until recently by forgetting that and being so harsh with my images that it wasn't fun anymore
Another super video, Kim, with a valuable message to get out whatever the weather. I had similar experience yesterday going out into the Lakes under a clear blue sky - I didn’t see anyone else with a camera, probably because a clear sky doesn’t typically lend itself to dramatic or moody landscapes. It made me focus on what was there, though, and I ended up with a few images I’m really happy and which are a little different from the norm!
A wonderful informative video Kim, I love how you see beauty in the simplest forms nature throws up and use your creativity to capture some great shots, I felt like I was there watching the sunset with you. Thanks!
This completely changed my thoughts about clear blue sky photography. Most people prefer to have a cloudy sky when taking pictures, and I was one of them. I will experiment more. Thank you
Capturing the light off of those mini-sand-formations was genius. The pictures turned out great. - The technique of focus-stacking for the sunset composite image was for me, a learning experience. Thanks.
Angel voiced Kim comes back with another great video. I must admit, even though my stuff (mostly) is weather sealed I find that I am very cautious when the weather is less than perfect. I really must be more inclined to get out there when the weather is more inclement . Thank you for all your videos, they're brilliant.
The little ripples or bumps caught my eye right off the bat. One trait of a good photographer is being able to adapt to conditions or what nature presents. Great photo!!! What camera do you use?
You live in a beautiful place, Kim. Just to be there must be so therapeutic. I really love your images. I haven't done any focus stacking but I must give it a try. Always something new to learn.
Good morning Kim, starting out my sunday is always better with your video. Your tips and ideas are always helpful and add to my knowledge of photography. There is no limit to what one can do or learn in the outdoors, it literally changes by the second, we are only limited by our imagination. I said it before, my "peace" is in the outdoors. Your a joy to watch, have a blessed week.
I love footprints in the sand as long as some of them are mine! yes that's a wonderful part of the world where you are enjoy every minute of it.....Thank you for taking us there!
First time visiting your channel, subscribed. Like this type photography finding beautiful shapes and form and isolating them from the grand landscape. A tilt and shift lens (using tilt) its perfect for this sort of flat plane photography where everything needs to be in focus. Getting back into photography after a 7 year hiatus due to family issues. This sort of video is very encouraging.
Hi Kim, wow such beautiful light , what a stunning evening! Love the images! ( & especially the focus stacked blended image 🙌 ) Loving the orange glow! X
Enjoyed the video as usual Kim. You captured some really nice image's as usual. The image that you photo stacked was brilliant. Look forward to the next one. Take care.
Kim I haven't watched in ages due to the fact I had emergency surgery on my spine I can't get out with my camera which gets me down 😢 my favourite was the focus stacked sunset it was absolutely stunning, this tutorial gave me an uplift thank you keep up the great work ❤👌
Most people think of a cloudless sky to be a perfect sky, but not photographers! I much prefer living in Scotland with clouds making every shot different, to a featureless blue void.
I enjoyed your comment about clouds. I visited Scotland (I live in Oregon, US) when I was 18 years old. I am now 70. My great grandfather was born in the small town of New Deer. It rained buckets every day for the 2 weeks I was in your beautiful country - and I loved every day I was there. I remember the rock walls that served as pasture boundaries. I was mesmerized by the miles and miles of rock walls. Best to you and yours! Jim in Oregon
Hello Jim Glad you enjoyed visiting Scotland. We call the rock walls 'drystane dykes'. Unfortunately, they're gradually dusappearing as farmers put fences up by them and don't repair falls, which must be a pretty labour intensive task.
well said ... "a featureless blue" sky is 'perfect' only when we want a totally clear blue sky in our image for whatever the reason ... otherwise, half-cloudy skies with that ever changing light and shadows, although making it a little too hard for getting the right exposure at times, it allows for a lot more different and beautiful shots actually ... timelapse videos also work great only under half-cloudy skies, especially when they are moving a little faster than normal ...
Great pictures, Kim. It's always interesting to see photographers on their journey. Abstract photography can yield stunning results. Enjoy your photography, I know I do. Cheers and subscribed.
Thank you, Kim. Such wonderful images, and you explained your thoughts for the compositions so well, including where the compositions didn't work for you, which is just as helpful for someone like me. In a happy coincidence, I head for the coast in a few weeks, so I'll see how I go with the lessons you delivered.
To me your best image was the one you manually focus stacked, using the creek leading to the sea with the sunset sun reflection. Awesome. Yes, in body camera focus stacking is a wonderful thing.
Excellent video!! Never thought about what you just accomplished. I live in Montana, USA so we have no beaches. However I think I might be able apply this on some rivers. Beautiful shots that you ended up with!!
Great advice Kim and some that should inspire to go out, just because you should. On the focus stacking I watched a macro photographer take 80 plus images using stacking the auto feature. Subject was a flower and blimey it was sharp. 👌🏼

What a beautiful landscape!! And your images are stunning. Thank you for sharing your images and your in the field flow.

When your music is almost as good as your photography... all the feels Kim. Well done.
Beautiful images and great information. Thank you.
And yet another amazing video. Thank you Kim.
I haven't done a lot of macro photography, but focus stacking is definitely useful for that. I never thought of extending it's use to landscape photography, usually relying on a small aperture to keep everything in focus.

You are perfectly right. It's all about seeing the opportunities.
Very impressive. Amazing photos!! Well done!

Sehr inspirierend. Wunderschön.

Beautiful I love the different sand textures..great ideas to try next time thank you Kim
Beautiful capture 📸
I love that focus stacking technique. It seems so obvious and so much easier than the faff of doing in the camera

Nice! The small field of stones behind you looks like a fine subject too : )

Agreed! I live in Midlothian.
You don't have to live in place where the weather is miserable to have clouds

Great video and awesome pictures ❤
Enjoyed this very much. I have found that if you wrap your tripod legs with plastic bags they are a lot easier to clean up after being in the sand.
Great advice Kim and some that should inspire to go out, just because you should. On the focus stacking I watched a macro photographer take 80 plus images using stacking the auto feature. Subject was a flower and blimey it was sharp. 👌🏼
Really enjoyed this video. I’m definitely going to give focus stacking a try, your resulting image was just stunning

So glad you enjoyed it Andy! Enjoy trying out Fuchs stacking 😊
