In the late afternoon, on the other side of the globe, I paused your video, gave myself a kick, and went out in my garden with my camera and my eyes. Thanks for the message
Thank you Kim for sharing this video. Your comments truly resonated with me today and actually bought a tear to my eyes. Sometimes it's really difficult to get out but the benefits are so amazing and worth it especially this time of year when the weather is cold and damp. Even, as you say, simply taking photos in your garden.
Thank you for sharing Julia. It can be a challenge to head out when it's cold and damp outside. I often need to I've myself a pep talk, but never regret it once I'm out. May you have many blessed photography outings this winter 😊🙏
Enjoyed the video as usual Kim. A very interesting woodland. Very interesting image's of the ice, i really enjoyed them. Look forward to the next one and take care.
You are a breath of fresh air Kim, there are times that my inner mind takes over and struggle with motivation even though I’m passionate about my image creating, also the job that I do can be frustrating and mind numbing (truck driving) but I do get out and for my part, get some nice photos. Mental health sucks at times and is a constant struggle.
It's lovely to hear you manage to get out with your camera despite the mental struggles. I guess we all struggle with motivation at times (I know I have on many occasions despite my passion). When able, may you continue to find strength and enjoyment from photography Adrian 😊🙏
Often believe that the crossover period between Autumn and Winter can prove to be very successful photographic time. You entered my world in this video - raindrops and ice with a macro lens, handheld - Good to see!
Fabulous video, inspiring stuff, thank you for encouraging us to go our even for a little while and play in the big outdoors. I am loving your book, full of useful thoughts and exercises, well worth purchasing.
Kim, I think this one is my favourite video so far! How do you manage to create such amazing images where there's seemingly nothing much going on?!!😮 It's a talent! Thank you for making me smile, too. Did you get lost there for a minute?! I get lost all the time, even in my local park...more or less 😂! Thank you for sharing your creative adventures with us. Your photography is art, and I love following your journey 😊.
Thank you, my lovely 😁🙏 It's great to hear you enjoyed the video. Creating photos when there appears to be nothing there is often when the best images are created. I got a bit disorientated, yes 😂
Good morning Kim, yes your videos, photo's and words are inspiring to me. You are such a beautiful person, and thank you for commitment to have weekly video's, it means to much to me, have a safe and blessed upcoming week.
I have begun to again look forward to a new video from you on a Sunday morning, Kim, and it's so good to hear that you are going to continue. Your images and words are so inspirational and you really do inspire me to get out and try to find an image, despite the conditions or how I might feel. I really love the orange leaves with the droplets in the background. Beautiful. Thank you Kim.
Thank you Kim you made ne realise that even a short walk or time in the garden is beneficial. Next year I'm going to take a photo a day to record my year in nature.
I absolutely love the macro images of the ice you created...No snow here in Toledo Ohio yet but I hope to capture some beautiful images when it arrives
Great video, you certainly have your vlogging mojo back! I have said it before, when you produce images such as these, I see them working very well as greeting cards! Looking forward to more of the same, have a great week!😀
I did this very thing at sunset yesterday down here in Gorebridge. Just get out, I said to myself, even with my just my iPhone. It was lovely! Next time I’ll take some of my Nikon kit, but know whole heartily it is not about the tools, but about the observing, immersing, participating with all senses, physical or otherwise, tuned up. Cheers, Kim!
It's lovely to hear about the connection and enjoyment photography brings you, Roy. It sounds like you had a lovely time at sunset yesterday. Thank you for watching ☺️ 🙏
It is so difficult for me to get inspired to get out in the woods here in late November and early December. Looking at the wide scene, everything looks so drab and boring. Your videos, however, are a great reminder to get out there anyway. Whenever I do successfully push myself I always have a great time. As you say, there is always something to photograph. I just have to be open to it. I might end up deleting every photo but it doesn't matter. I had a lot of fun experimenting. Of course, it's actually the time when you come up with the most original and interesting stuff because you're not out there photographing the obvious.
Funny coincidence. Just today rode my bike 20 minutes out to the local nature reserve, which I usually avoid on Sundays and general holidays, as it serves as recreational area for this town of 600k ... But we had the first proper hoarfrost today, so I tried it. Sure enough, there were a bit too many people around the lakes. But I got some nice pictures off the main paths, and then retreated after about 45 minutes. Not the most successful trip, but infinitely better than not having gone out at all. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take ...
Watching your videos makes me want to buy NiSi close-up "filters" for my Z 24-200mm. Do you know if they are any good? Because macro is something wonderful during these times outdoors.
I have used the NiSi close-up lens (more like a big filter) a few times. It is good, although I personally prefer using a macro lens. I feel it gives me more freedom and magnification. It can be a good option, though, and much cheaper than buying a macro lens.
There’s no such thing as having the wrong equipment just a lack of imagination 😉
And you got a water droplet in mid flight 😃

This is wonderful to hear, David! 😁✨️

Lovely you read this, Jeff! It's so true. When we are forced to be creative, some of the best images are made. Thank you for sharing
Thanks to you I turned off my computer and went out and did the same thing.
Wonderful Stuart 😁✨️
Well done Kim! Creativity only needs some breathing space and consistency.
