I bought the van with deleted DPF and on first MOT failed emissions test. It took year and a half to bring DPF system in full working order. In this video I'm explaining process of elimination in order to get to the bottom of the problem.
I'm not DPF specialist, but keen DIY mechanic. I've contacted several specialist and garages to solve the issue but without results.
On the end I took time to learn about DPF and narrowed the fault to a single item.
DPF was producing heavy smoke on every regeneration and it was regenerating often, sometimes daily ( only 10 miles since previous regen) with heavy smoke.

The reason for this is because the aftermarket dpf wont get over 300c a genuine dpf will get up to 600c and burns so hot it wont Produce any or little smoke i had Exactly. The same on my kie Karens every 350 miles it would smoke badly with the aftermarket dpf only genuine dpf will work you might be able to save your original dpf if you still have it it need cleaning at low rpms with lunch dpf cleaner if its cracked then cant be fixed good luck

I agree, one of the resons would be bad aftrermarket one. In my case it regened daily ( every 5-10 miles) with crazy smoke . I've replaced temp sensors and it was all good afterwards. It took me long time to figure that. So far all good , touch wood ;)
