@@kurtweiand7086Or else forcing His will on us is not how God uses His sovereignty. Was God sovereign when Jesus said "how often would I have gathered your children, like a hen gathers her chicks under her wing, and ye would not"?
      "I would (...would I...)"
      "ye would not".
Bear in mind that He was still God; He hadn't laid that aside. Was He still sovereign? Yes. He could have commanddd al those angels to deliver Him, or just smashed all His enemies Himself. Those are just some of His options to exercise His sovereignty. Here, it was to sincerely desire to gather them, but they would not. He could have gathered them forcefully, but apparently He did not choose to do that, yet it was no loss to His sovereigty, but rather His chosen exercise of it.

Misinterpretation of scripture. Do you really think God thinks like you? 🤦‍♂️
He does not indeed give a reason for divine election, so as to assign a cause why this man is chosen and that man rejected; for it was not meet that the things contained in the secret counsel of God should be subjected to the judgment of men; and, besides, this mystery is inexplicable. He therefore keeps us from curiously examining those things which exceed human comprehension. He yet shows, that as far as God’s predestination manifests itself, it appears perfectly just.

This is happening through-out all so-called Christians, including calvinists and non-calvinists! People are impressed with the charisma of men, moreso than a desire to know God's Truth! 1st John chapter 1 verse 27. Acts chapter 20 verse 30. 2nd Corinthians chapter 10 verses 15 thru 17. 1st Corinthians chapter 3 verse 21. R C Sproul skillfully teaches people that there is no real purpose in God's entire plan of the creation of man and of course man's relationship to His Creator. Sproul convincingly, simply says that God decided to create man, and that He would simply force some of them to worship Him, and would simply damn most of them to eternal separation from Him, so that the forced worshippers would give Him glory for not damning them. What amazes me is that anyone can believe this blasphemy. Not to mention, the Bible teaches us that God is "SEEKING TRUE WORSHIPPERS ". This clearly shows True Believers just how dangerous Satan is and why the Bible is constantly warning us about False Teachers. Let him with an ear hear!

Calvin understood works don’t save you, and plainly that while grace is said to be the means, God having enough for all, not all, in truth most are not saved; therefore Calvinism.
The problem is that while one can see Calvinism in many verses of scripture one can also see verses that have to be overlooked to hold the view. Is that what we as Christians want to do? Maybe as Calvin was a man, he just got it wrong? Maybe the way he understood Christianity worked, was in fact not the way it does?
The crux of it seems to be FAITH; you’re save by grace through faith, no faith? grace is not going to work.
I think it’s worth asking the question?
Many see faith as believing, believing as faith. But there are clear cases in scripture of believers being cast out. In each case being told I never knew you by the Lord.
      Have ears to hear?
Wouldn’t it be a shock if you found too late it was you that didn’t listen? I'm sure for the Lord, Lord, crowd it was. They are so sure, they argue with Him; didn’t we do all these great works in your name?
If any were asked in life, do you know Him, they would be so sure they did? Certainly, as sure as you are. How did they get it so wrong?
In life they were teachers, look at what they say they did; have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name; only to find too late they had not only cheated themselves out of the kingdom, they had led others to destruction. The blind guides spoken of.
      If only they understood faith?
Maybe you are one that thinks faith is believing? If so, I ask you to test that by the word. I ask you to read a passage that has men, believers, His own disciples, asking to be saved; understanding they were about to perish, and coming to Him in that moment when only He could rescue them? Matthew 8 beginning in verse 25. Consider if they have less faith, as you describe it, than you, and notice how their faith is graded by Yashua.
If you want to dig deeper into faith, the faith that saves us, I would be happy to comment further.
But for now, this comment is just to say Calvin got it wrong.

Very good question! The answer is Romans chapter 8. The context is Romans 5:1 and Romans 10:9. So the answer is clearly before you die. Paul wrote (well in fact Tertius did, see 16:22) to the elect, in chapter 8. The Golden Chain of Redemption, Romans 8:30, is followed by the question 'what then shall we say to these things?' What things??? Paul speaks to the ones for whom there is NO condemnation (8:1) , aka the children of God (8:16) , aka 'whom He predestined and also called' (8:30), AKA the ELECT (8:33). These are the ones for whom He also intercedes, John 17:2 and again Romans 8:27 and 8:34. And all the elect say: Amen.

After watching and reading explanations about election, predestination, if God wants to save everybody or only certain people, I’m gonna come to the conclusion that I don’t know and we don’t know. One side tries to explain it but gets contradicted and then the other side tries to explain and it gets contradicted. And when anybody talks about it, it makes no sense and I think that’s the answer. We can’t understand God’s mind. Imma stick with my Deuteronomy 29:29

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And *this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and MEN loved darkness rather than light,* because their deeds were evil.
All people have sinned. We all do evil, and we all have this tendency to hide from God.
Jesus goes on to say that some people *"do truth",* and we can take it from the rest of the Bible that Jesus is not saying goody goodies, who never do anything wrong, are the ones who *do truth.* They have to be sinners, just like the ones who won't come to the light. Therefore, the only deeds they are wanting to be clearly seen-their deeds-that they are "wrought in God", is that doing truth, and it is "wrought in God", yet is _their_ deed. To do truth must have been something they received from God, yet they can receive it or reject it, hence the responsibility. The men are truly responsible for evading the light that has come into the world, for not doing truth. Therefore, the ones who do truth are held responsible for choosing the truth over the evasion of truth they formerly practiced, even though the truth they are doing is altogether a glft of God. They are held responsible for doing that truth, therefore they are responsible, and it was not given to them irresistibly, because they would not be responsible, then, and Jedus says that men (and by implication, women) are responsible for their condemnation.

21Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?
22What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, 23and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, 24even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
God in His Grace makes the sun shine on both His children and the children of wrath. He makes the rain sufficient for all. If you are saying you want to put to rest the confusing points of Calvinism than its not of God, as "God is not the author of confusion"..1 Corinthians 14:33
Then according to Calvin, the meaning of repent (Metanoia) = A change of mind totally is incorrect, what is the point of saying you need to change your mind which represents a free choice from unbelief to belief but according to point one of Calvinism total depravity that than nullifies what Jesus and John the Baptist was asking us to do, so than this makes Calvinism not make sense. What about Adam and Eve God clearly gave them a free choice if God (and he knew already) they were going to fall than did he already predestined them to go to Hell before they fell OR did God choose them to be saved and the rest of Mankind to choose who will go to heaven or hell???, I am really doing my head in just trying to think about this which would say to me Calvin was preaching heresy...Free Grace of Jesus Christ is indeed free and simple!

In proportion to our abandonment of God are we taken care of by God. Therefore, we must surrender to the Will of God(Inner Christ) if we truly Desire to Discern the Movements of God within, as God conducts his Will in ways that oppose human will and understanding....
We must Remove the False Mortal Image of a ME separate and apart from God....
The Christ is the act of Eternal Life living Within its own Infinity, and becomes Demonstrable through the Receptivity of the Crucifixion of the Self separate and apart from God....
The Christ is ALWAYS ALIVE IN US, but we must be Alive to the Christ....
When we are not attuned to Divine Consciousness(Eternal Life, Immortality, Truth, God), by default, we are attuned to Mortal Consciousness(karmic death, mortality, form, fear, evil, etc)....
Every communication Unfolding from God within is to encourage the Spirit/Soul die to the Self, as the Purpose of the Soul is to take Dominion over our only Adversary, the World Mind and it's thoughts tempting us to believe mortality/form/decay is reality...
The Christ Within asks one thing of us:
Crucify the Belief in a Me Separate and Apart from the Immortal, Omnipresent Spirit of God, as there is no more Glorious a Demonstration than the Transformation from mortal sense to Spiritual Immortality....
The massive wall we have built shielding us from our truth lies in intellectual concepts known as the Graven Images of Mortality experienced through the senses(including all religious beliefs). What is of God is Infinite, and what is not of God is an Appearance of a False Image where Only God is....
Heaven is where you are and the only place that you can ever be, yet Hell is the place that you insist on experiencing by entertaining a mortal life separate and apart from God....
We cannot glorify the Father, and glorify the flesh, or the sense of a personal Me separate and apart from God(including the flesh of jesus). Our Consciousness can not be divided in this. Either God is or God isn't the Only Life, and our experience is the Demonstration of either/or, depending on our receptivity to Life(Immortality), or Death(Mortality)...
Where there's a Me(human self-love and human self-will) separate and apart from God there is SIN.....
    SELF...................S
    INDULGED..........I
    NUISANCE.........N
Me, not God, therefore, ME knows better than God, and because ME knows better, ME MUST suffer the consequences of ME mortal beliefs of a Life Separate and Apart from God!! ME must appear to suffer the mortal consequences of ME IGNORANCE of TRUTH of BEING....
He who Realizes his Life is the Spirit of God has Eternal Life! He then walks through the mortal appearance a Divine Being, in who the 5 Senses of Mortal Lies have been Impersonalized, therefore hold no power over him. His fidelity is to the Immortal Spirit he is, and no longer to the mortal illusion of life not of God....
We Must OVERCOME the Belief that we are not Immortal, Divine Being.....
To him that Overcometh the temptation of the tree of good and evil(belief in a mortal existence separate and apart from God)will I give to eat of the Tree of Life(ALL GOD IS/ETERNAL LIFE), which is in the Midst of the Kingdom of God(Omnipresence)....
Turn ye from the false images of the mortal world of man with breath in his nostrils, and Dwell in the Secret Place of the Most High!!
I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD....of the 5 senses of World Mind Belief, knowing they can only lie....
The degree to which we can look at the shadow of the material world of death/mortality that is not of Spirit/God and not be disturbed by it is the Path of the Realized Christ....
I and the Infinite are One....
We are not a Christian until we know the Infinite Perfect Spirit of Christ is our Identity!!
    Peace Be Unto You

These people may think they only attack John Calvin, but the One they really attack is the Lord Jesus Christ.
They say: "Limited Atonement is heresy!"
Well, God the Father limits the atonement, according to Jesus Christ in John 6:37.
And Christ is the High Priest only for His elect, according to John 17:2.
The ultimate Limited Atonement Scripture is Psalm 110, the most repeated prophecy in Scripture...

It does not really matter which book of the Bible I read. It always grows me in faith and love for Jesus Christ as well as me marvel at His grace. It makes me happy.
None of these "I am so super smart" discussions ever played any role in that. I listened to this here, I listened to a almost 90 minutes explanation why kneeling before a carved statue of Mary, kissing her wooden feet, decorate her with flowers and candles is no worship, I listened to an over 2 hour explanation why an transformation from supermarket bread into the body, the literal flesh of Christ happens in the roman catholic eucharist, why the word of God is not Gods word but given us by the Catholic Church,... and a lot more from different people and denominations. Maybe I am simply not smart enough to get it.
I already struggle with all the denominations. I got saved when reading the Bible at age 47 and at that time I refused to go to church, because I wanted HIS word and just understand it the way I understand when reading it myself. His spoken word into my ears like those on the mount of olives etc.. And I fall on my knees and proclaimed: "Jesus, you are my Lord and Savior and I am from now on your servant. I will follow you and only you and obey your word and submit to your will". That made me a Follower of the Lord. That and only that.
When I meet people on Bible congresses etc, they all tell me "I am baptist", "I am Lutheran", I am this, I am that. I am catholic, ...
Still missing Jesus in all of that... I am not a follower of Catholicism, Southern Baptism... I want Jesus and I follow Him. A denomination would not be my first though, not my second, not even third though... I realized, that just reading the Bible myself and understanding it the way I did, I am pretty close to what baptist believe. Maybe more what followers in a so called "gospelhall" believe.
Whatever the Lord said, maybe there is all that you are talking about and what I dont get. Could easily be. But Jesus talked to fishermen, carpenters, homeless. And as God incarnated He knew for sure, with 100% certainty, that all those people understood Him. Otherwise, He would have used different words. So what is this all about? All these super smart important theories, the opinion you need 4 years bible colleges from Dr-so-and-so, a Phd from the university of so-and-so to understand His word, or better the roman catholic priest to figure it out and explain it to you?
"This is my flesh"... And someone needs over 2 hours to explain to me that it is really His flesh i eat and not a metaphor for the sacrifice next day, sharing his flesh?
If it all strengthens your faith and love for the Lord, if it makes your day - fair enough. If you are saved - wonderful!. But I dont need these discussions. And likely no-one got it fully figured out. Why not wait till we meet Jesus and ask him... Until then, I dont care about it.

DEFORMED Theologian parents bed time story.
Little Johnny, God has predestined the minority of people to be saved and go to heaven forever, and He has predestined the majority of people to be eternally damned and burn in the fires of hell. We have no idea, little Johnny, if God has predestined you to be forever damned or forever saved.
We love you, little Johnny, but we accept the fact that God might not love you, and that He may have plans to send you to hell for your future sins. If you do find yourself one day burning in hell because He hasn’t elected to save you, just remember that we will always love you, even if God hates you.
Take comfort knowing that we are not like God.
We will be in heaven forever only because we were unconditionally chosen for salvation before we were born. That would be the only reason that we won’t be in hell with you if you find yourself there. It won’t be because of anything we did.
So also take comfort in knowing that. It may not seem fair, but who are we to judge God?
So again, if you find yourself in hell, remember that we will always love you as we forever worship the God who loved us but who hated you, the God who sent His Son to die for us but not for you.
Please, we ask, don’t let it bother you-if you find yourself in hell-that we love the God who hated you and showed you no mercy. We must accept the fact that God is sovereign, and He does what He pleases.
My dear beloved Calvinist, will you teach that to your children or grandchildren?

I understand that God gives us free will to accept Him or not, and He wants us to love Him because we choose to, but surely a loving God would not cast his children into eternal torment because they didn’t believe in Him, or had never heard the gospel being preached? Also, not everyone is spiritually inclined, they may however be a good person who does a lot of things selflessly for others, surely a loving God would not cast them into hell?

If repent means to stop sinning than no one can truly stop sinning because we have all inherited the sin nature which compels us to sin. If it is possible for us to stop sinning Jesus would not have had to pay for our sins. The reason Jesus was able not to sin was because not haven been born of the sin of man he alone did not inherit the sin nature thus he didn't sin because he couldn't really be tempted. If we examine the anatomy of a sin we find that there are three necessary components that all must be in place for sin to happen. These three components are #1 commandments.#2 people with the sin nature and # three temptation. Take anyone of these three components away and sin can't occur. What keeps people out of Heaven is not their sinning parse but not haven confessed Jesus as Lord publicaly as Romans 10:9 declares and the thief on the cross did according to Luke 23:versus 42 and 43. Jesus was the perfect Lamb who takes away the sins of the world thus everone's sins have already been paid for. The only requirement for salvation is not confessing Jesus as Lord.

Yet, to these same ones, 2 Peter 1:10 says: “Do your utmost to make the calling and choosing of you sure for yourselves; for if you keep on doing these things you will by no means ever fail.” (If the individuals were predestinated to salvation, they could not possibly fail, regardless of what they did. Since effort is required on the part of the individuals, it must be the CLASS that is foreordained.
God purposed that the entire class would conform to the pattern set by Jesus Christ. Those selected by God to be part of that class, however, must prove faithful if they are actually to attain the reward set before them.)
That "class" or group referred to is the 144,000 anointed Christians who will reside in Heaven as Kings and Priests in Christ's Kingdom.

You seem not to get it, being dead is simply a metaphor. Was the prodigal son dead to his father? According to Jesus and the word his father used, “my son was dead but now is alive” yes. But what else did Jesus say? The son “realized” his situation and went home to his father with a repentant heart. Anywhere in the story did the father make is son come alive? No.
The word “dead” is simply a metaphor, like saying, “you’ve lost your mind.”
Augustine, Calvin, and yes R.C.Sproul are all wrong on this issue.

RC has no common sense blinded by his wrong belief as if Calvin is God to him. People choose their fate; it was just interrupted by the sins of Adam who had chosen freely by which he rendered all mankind spiritually dead. But the obedience of Christ restored that, Eph 2: 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 MADE US ALIVE (enabled) with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-. The cross gave us back our freewill. Acts 15:16 “‘After this I will return and rebuild David’s fallen tent. Its ruins I will rebuild, and I will restore it,17 THAT THE REST OF MANKIND MAY SEEK THE LORD, even all the Gentiles who bear my name, says the Lord, who does these things’[b]- 18 things known from long ago. Death and resurrection of Christ restores David's fallen tent, now every human being is enabled. Obviously, God does not want puppets, John 4:23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the TRUE WORSHIPERS will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. The only thing we can call our own is our decisions. And whether we offer it to God or not. We send ourselves to hell or not.

Soli Deo Gloria. *But… Are you sure you are giving the glory to Him?* When you distort the character of God by making Him look more like Shiva (the Hindu god of destruction), than that God of incredible love, patience and mercy from the Bible; The One who commands you to love your enemies and forgive them always!… Are you giving Him glory? Because... friend, let's be honest. A “god” who creates billions of souls to be sent directly to hell, without any option to save… is an extremely cruel god. He is not the God of the Bible.
When you tell a sinner that Jesus has only died for a tiny portion of humanity, and that it is very, very unlikely that he is among them; even though there are *several* texts in the Bible that claim that God sent His Son in ransom for humanity, because He doesn't want anyone to be lost... Are you giving glory to God? Sure?
Could it not be... That in the most hidden and deep part of your heart you are giving glory to yourself?
I will explain. One can easily feel special, even better than others, when he hears that he has been chosen by God.
Because a “god” who sends people who are better than you to hell… doesn't make any sense, right?
Without a doubt I must be better. No choice. God must have seen something special in me to not care about destroying billions of souls and staying with me. Because I take it for granted that you don't think that God saves his 4 chosen ones by lot, right? I hope not!
But there is a big problem, that “god” who chooses for something he finds in the person, is not the God of the Bible. He is no respecter of persons (Romans 2:11). That is, He does not favor or lean toward some people more than others for any particular reason or affection.
That is, for Him, you and all those who are going to end up in hell are exactly the same. Rebels. Sinners. Get this deep in your head. And repeat it to yourself, over and over again, until you really understand it. Because this is a serious matter.
But it is true that the Bible speaks that we have been chosen. But then? Based on what? How can God choose without violating His character and not based on anything that is in man?
Very easy. He opened the door of Eternal Life to *ALL of his creatures.* And he says *to ALL of us:* Do you want to enter with me? Those who freely answer “Yes” to that call, those whose answer He already knows before the foundation of the world, are His chosen ones. (Romans 8:29).
And certainly this speaks to us of a God of immense love. Love far superior to the human one, who easily makes preferences.
Let us be very careful, lest, pretending to give glory to God, we may be found liars. For the heart is wicked and deceitful above all things.
    (Jeremiah 17:9)

Listening to this man teach is possibly one of the closest substitutes for listening to the hard-hearted Pharisees in the first century teach! This man has spent so many years studying God's Word in colleges and other institutions of academic learning and yet he still possessed so little knowledge of the truth! This is because he did not have the intimacy with God that God most wanted for him. God was not mocked by the hypocrite Pharisees... And God was also not mocked by this hypocrite teacher! How preposterous! Teaching that the word "any" doesn't in fact mean "any," but rather means "any from some unnamed and unspoken but yet tacitly implied group"! Wickedness! There is nothing that can be done for RC Sproul anymore. God does command everyone everywhere to repent! That is true! But sadly this man likely never did because he was filled to overflowing with pride. God hates pride! And God hates workers of iniquity! And God hates false teachers who teach lies by distorting His Word! RC Sproul has been judged for His sins according to the truth of God's Word... even as able to be understood by a child... and not the philosophical and hypothetical meandering understandings of some modern-day Pharisee! Do not make the same mistakes as this man who thought himself smarter than God. Do not allow yourself to awake one day in hell because you trusted the teachings of modern-day Pharisees more than the teachings of God! Jesus is willing to forgive you all your sins, but He will not do so in a manner that is counter to His Word. Jesus will not forgive sin that is not first forsaken. Fear God, repent and live!
