I fell away from the faith for many years, only (again, by the grace of God) to painstakingly realize the error of my ways and accept it once again, so I'd never leave the Catholic Church, even with all the craziness and scandal that currently engulfs it. However, if I had been born in any Christian tradition, I would choose Orthodoxy and specifically Serbian Orthodoxy, as I have the most experience with this variant through an Orthodox friend of mine. Thank you for your beautifully illustrated and well-made videos!

The icon of the Virgin of the Three Hands was presented by St. John's monastery to the archbishop of Serbia, Sava. When Serbia was invaded by the Turks, they sent the icon to Mount Athos on a donkey. The donkey stopped on the Serbian monastery there.
When the Serbian monks can't decide who their (I guess) abbot should be, Our Lady decided she's the one for the job. So now, an icon of the Holy Mother of God with three hands is the abbess of one of the monasteries of Mount Athos.
There, I spoiled the plot of a potential Bible Illustrated video. You're welcome.

May all the saints pray fervently for their people who contributed so much to the world.... I have weeped for the state of Europe in general honestly. Lord have mercy . If possible, I would like to remind you about doing an episode on finding a proper spouse as an Orthodox Christian, especially in our depraved modern age of the internet.
Also random question: It turns out the Chinese scientist who tested genetic editing on two female fetuses was real, he was detained though and the girls were born healthy. Should we be anxious about the future now? That and I read an article too about government trying to make robots that can think like insects consciously.... I am scared of the times coming :(

I don't think I can make a proper video on finding a spouse, as I'm single myself, but I found this video VERY illuminating and giving some sound advice:
      ua-cam.com/video/eMoBELOiGMk/v-deo.html
Also, big suggestion for you: immediately unsubscribe from any news outlets. Like, right now. They're causing you tons of distress and anxiety, and for no good reason. This would include anything that would expose you to 'news' by proxy (meme groups, for example). Personally, I don't care much for whoever experiments with what as I can't influence it in any way. Just stop watching the news, brother.

Robert Taylor Monotheism had gone to far, and showed weakness of organized system like Churches. Ortohodxy especially with their ‘privileged’ view they have upon themselves - we are the only true Church etc. That last Ukranian scenario is a reminder how far Orthodoxy is from any ‘universality’, its just a bridge that connects nationalism & tribalism. Serbian & Russian Chruch exists in lowest form, being a comfort zone for a lot of idiotic nationalists with Bishops on their syde. Russian Holy Synod is full of KGB agents. Its kinda frustrating, but there is always a way to stay outside of that organized structure that is falling apart. What sometimes was promosing insitution, today is open door for every superstition & stupidity. One can only have respect for institution itself, in terms how it survived 2000yrs, but being a part of that today its a pretty harmful thing for individuals.

Mmm sorry but St John and everyone in this video is historical. I don't know what you mean here.

I believe in fairies too, not sure whats the trouble? Stories like this are here to encourage us and show us diffrent way of approaching this thing called life. In this case, for example, that miracle with cut hand is hardly historically accurate. Even if we think of probability that could happen as a unique phenomena - its meaningless concept. But we take it as it is, a story, cautionary tale. Life of Saints are used through history to spark ghost in us or even to amuse majority who was usually illitarate. Also through history we had big temples, churches, icons for which John of Damascus fight for in this story, all that is used to approach majority and keep faith and dogmas safe. I doubt that today christans think we need some spectacular temples with all icons in them to worship Holy Trinity, but unfortunately they still have oldschool autocrats in high positions. We can always read actual books written by John Damascus, but majority can still amuse themselves with this cute little tales, and that is ok. 🌷🌺
