Great video. I would add that, hypothetically, if everyone heeded St. Chrysostom's teachings on wealth, then nobody would be poor.

Empress Pulcheria (Marcian's wife) told St Dioscorus "In my father's time, there was a man who was stubborn (referring to St. John Chrysostom) and you are aware of what was made of him", to which St Dioscorus famously responded "And you may recall that your mother prayed at his tomb, as she was bleeding of sickness". Pulcheria is said to have slapped St Dioscorus in the face, breaking some of his teeth, and ordered the guards to confine him, which they did pulling his beard hair. St Dioscorus is said to have put these in a box and sent them back to his Church in Alexandria noting "this is the fruit of my faith"

Excellent. The final prayer is really, really inspired. God bless you all and may Saint John Chrysostom's suffering, life and zeal change the hearts of humanity. Amen

I'm so glad you made one of these on St. John Chrysostom and another on St. John Damascene. I have often gotten them mixed up in the past, and these videos will fix them very well in my mind going forward.

Can we take a moment to thank the scribes? What great awareness they had.

Interesting you released it today on the feast of Saint Basil, the other composer of the two main Divine Liturgies.

Great and concise video! Thank you for making this to tell people about Chrysostom, he's part of the reason I've been interested in getting into the fathers lately.

Personal thought, I don’t think any secular government should be deposing or appointing Patriarchs or Bishops. It always causes fracturing and confusing.
