Thank you so very much for sharing this fantastic video. I have 3 Jackets with very long sleeves that need to be shortened. My local alteration shop is charging $35 CAD per jacket. That would be almost $120 (including 13% tax) for alteration. I thought I better checkout UA-cam before I part with $120. I cannot thank you enough for sharing your tricks. Thank you from Toronto :)
The sleeve was flipped up 2 1/2 inches and that's how much it needs shortened so I unfolded and marked my line but you're going to sew 2.5 inches from the edge once you get into it and then fold up on the chalk line.
I’m confused about that too. You folded. It up 2.5 inches. Then you marked only 1/2 inch from the original fold. How are you allowing for stitch line vs hem line? I always measure from original which would be fold then come up 2.5 plus hem allowance.
Your instructions are clear and thorough, just what I've been looking for. Great video I'm going to attempt to shorten my sleeves now.

Thank you!
That's easy but what about the ones with buttons.
Nice job! Thanks a lot. This sewing machine is a German brand! Many greetings from Berlin- Germany🇩🇪😊
yes it is and Pfaff is my favorite!!
I'm confused you are marking 2 1/2" from the raw edge..well that would make the length too long as 2 1/2" from the cuff fold is higher up
