I'm a baker/cake decorator/assistant bakery manager, and I pop an earbud in and listen to videos, podcasts and the like while I'm working. It helps pass the time while working.
Im a spanish and literature teacher at highschool from Argentina. Your videos keep me entretained while i unwind cooking, playing elden ring or cleaning the house. Thank you for the great video essays!
Nnaa Im a trucker and very often drive whole night straight. Your videos been a big help in staying sane and awake. I love your audio quality and visuals supporting it, very pleasing to watch. Recently Made In Abyss became huge point of interest for me and after discovering your deep dive series I couldn’t stop watching your content. So big thanks for your time and dedication! ✨✨
I'm a freelancer digital illustrator and animator so am allowed to enjoy my owl videos as long as I get the work delivered on time. And love your videos mate they really help me get in the zone. Thanks a bunch
So happy about this video - thanks so much Mr. Owl! Also, I really hope the Uzumaki anime coming out will do the story justice as the new trailer for it looks pretty damn awesome!
I feel like it will. They did his art style quite it's deserved justice, I also feel like the voice acting will make the story THAT much better considering the voice talents they hired. I can't wait to watch it and be obsessed with it for awhile
I'm a content marketer and fiction writer. So once I'm done with my work / burned out for the day, I like the finish the evening of by watching video essays on things that are interesting, and horror manga are definitely something I love, since most of what I write is horror.
To be fair, when I listen at work, it's more of a droning in the background that helps me relax while my mind is focused on the task at hand, and when my mind switches to autopilot on menial tasks I get to focus on your narration. So yeah, it's not that I have free time at work and more like I enjoy your tone, delivery, content and honestly I rewatch it on my free time so I don't really miss anything on your videos. Love from Spain ❤
Adult swim is going to be premiering the Animated series of Uzumaki coming this September and I’m excited! I found the series Uzumaki to be one of my favorites outside of Junji Ito’s short Aragata Fault, just the concept of a ‘spiral’ turned into a omen of horror and destruction was always fascinating to me. Also I love the exposition you gave for the Row houses, a very nice touch
I went to public school in the US, graduated a little over a decade ago. We had hair length and natural color rules, no facial hair of any kind allowed, shirts tucked in and "unoffensive" which meant no weapons/religions/sex on clothing for the most part. No idea if they have changed the rules at all but the facial hair rule was the only one took actual offense to and nowadays id be exempt due to my religion which wasn't yet protected when i was in school but would now.
Love these long-form videos Mr. Owl, I'm about to start some janitorial work that I'm dreading but I assume nobody'll want to talk to me enough to interrupt this.
32:51 Writers will never write anything without meaning. Even though interpretation to purely up to the readers there always meaning behind abstract plots like this one.
As far as I have always heard is the Jackalope goes I've always heard from people as well as historians that the "cryptid" was actually created as a joke by early settlers here in the US. From the oldest recorded record of the Jackalope it was basically just a long running joke that native folk throughout the early American wilderness would play on new comers & it sort of just started to become its own kind of legand from there.
I love the part in chapter 4 where Kerie's dad is like: "Oh and by the way Souichi you know that plate you used to wolf down several helpings of noodles? That was made from your parents ashes! Uh...Souichi? What's the matter?"
I am a machine operator at an automotive factory. It is very loud so I wear earmuffs, and under the earmuffs I wear a single ear bud while listening to your videos! It is extremely repetitive work so I’m able to zone out and escape through your work. Your channel has helped me get through the longest nights of my life.
I am a kennel attendant at an animal shelter and about 4 hours of my day is devoted to cleaning cat and dog kennels which makes for 4 hours that I am allowed to listen to something to keep my mind entertained 😂
Thank you so much for posting this Mr Owl, I’ve recently started to appreciate the videos you make and love the commentary you give, truly a great amongst greats
I work in shipping logistics and keep my watch now Playlist up to date so I can listen to horror Manga breakdowns on my ear buds while at my desk lol (thanks for making the videos they help work go by)
26:13 You are now the third UA-camr this month alone to suggest that the centipede moment with Suichi's mother is a reference to Tokyo Ghoul. That's exactly what you said: "This might be a reference to Tokyo Ghoul". So I ask you the same thing I asked them. Uzumaki was released in 1998, TG was released in 2011 (at least the anime was). So how does Uzumaki reference something that was released nearly 10 years after itself???????
Thank you for the amazing video! Loved learning about so many things, both pertaining to the manga or side explanations! Extremely well-researched and detailed! 👏👏👏
Or might have unstable environment... Thats doesn't really help too, when it comes to "subtly things" you basically aquire power of reading things but due not stable stuff, you lost ability to read other... Or rather you read it, but you never know what that person will do... Sooo you are Lost
I inspect safeline systems on roofs so i can walk on the roofs and hear the videos with one earpod and on the road. You definitely make my work much better with ur videos
Love the deep dive, i've read the series, but the indepth analysis gives great insight into the culture and superstitions in the setting. I can't wait to see this release on adult swim, it looks like they're going to keep it true to the original artstyle for the anime they're putting out
"Does this actually work on women?" I am one of 4 sisters and I can say so much: It works on sone women. It's a questions of pride. There are women who feels pride in not getting rejected. Don't know why either. You could say some women are like cats. Maybe it's their womanly cat-instinct. 😋
1:16:20 Mosquitoes like prego lady blood bc: 1) they have increased blood volume compared to normal adults (increase of around 2.5 L-ish) 2) increased body temp of pregos will have more blood on surface of body (compared to core) and this helps the mosquitoes zoom in on their prego ass 3) pregos have a natural reflex to hyperventilate due to shortness of breathe lasting until trimester 2 middle/end which means more CO2 exhaled = attracts the mosquitoes
Noice. Storyboard artist/ilustrator here working on a propaganda short film. Kind of auto-piloting here so I can properly listen to this while digitally inking crowds on ProCreate.
My dog had to be put down yesterday. Seeing this pop up in my feed as I wallow in my grief, I needed to listen to your deep dive uninterrupted. I’m also looking forward to the anime as well, but for now, I’ll try to move through my day with help from your video, as you have become one of my new favorite content creators on UA-cam. Thank you Owl.
I basically work at a market rn but i change jobs time to time because i am only 16 and on school 🏫 need the money 💰 👊....still somehow i have time to listen to this masterpiece 👌
I work graveyard at a grouphome. Once the clients are asleep i usualy put stuff like your videos on while i clean and handle paperwork otherwise its a bit too quiet.
wanted to drop another comment about the origin of the Jackrabbit, I've heard the same thing multiple times from different people so I'm pretty sure that you have the source right Mr. Owl; Mrs. Owl may be thinking of something like the unicorn, as I do know it has a more mythical origin for it's horn compared to the Jackrabbit.
im a machine operator at a production facility. we make medical supplies and machines for hospitals and my job involves just pressing a button for 8 hrs .
Uzumaki was first released in 1998, Tokyo Ghoul in 2011, there is no way in hell Uzumaki referenced anything in that edgelord manga/anime. I've never seen Ito reference other anime or manga either, since you seem to think that's what he's doing.
I have to say for all the disgustingness and what not, Umbilical Cord is probably my favorite chapter of Uzumaki. It's the weirdest, most disgusting, but comes with some of the greatest imagery in the entire work. I was so taken by it, I wrote a horror story about placenta diets myself. It's... a bit more out there, and is about people essentially cultivating the placenta in nutritious fluid, and sacrificing the child to add to it... yeah. I think I took the same shit Ito took when writing that one.
Currently looking for a new job, but I started listening around the time you were covering ptsd radio and back then I assembled airplane engine harnessses
seeing how people were still going to school and on with their lives after weird things going on was just a bit too silly to me lol. I like when there is a realistic fear of the horrors like the hanging head balloons story.
Yes I'm from Moody Alabama USA at Moody junior high our principal Cassandra Taylor would not let guys have long hair and girls or guys could not dye their hair certain colors

Unlikely - unless you're a big UA-camr with a direct line to UA-cam, that sort of thing is copyright hell.

It's called the DSM-5 not DSMV. The V is a Roman Numeral. It's the Diagnostics and Statistics Manual of Mental Disorders-Fifth Edition.
Correct, but it is often colloquially referred to as the DSMV because DSM-Five doesn't really roll off the tongue.
