Thanks for the video. Made me sad, how much have we lost in Australia. This country made some great cars and when they were new we never thought it'd go away. Love the channel 👌
Our government started dropping our protection tarrifs in the late 70s and it let overseas car makers come into our country to compete against us and one day slaughter us wipe us out with cheap shit , and our car makers didn't change to what the customers where wanting so here we are today , looking for the oldies to rebuild and once again own a quality car that's reliable , OK's its not a duel cab 4x4 or a SUV but a car that has no computers and shit sensors and will make a great weekend cruiser a treasure
The country is being scoured for vintage Aussie cars, even the desert. Low Standards found an RX3 in a desert river bed, it was at the last Summernats. They might not have been appreciated then, but they certainly are now.
You mentioned at the start the footage of the walk was raw. As an ex TV cameraman of 15 years I can say your camerawork was superb given the terrain. Thanks for posting.
I 100% agree the iroc would be a great addition to the Chanel, they are such underrated cars and I are a rarity in Australia. My brother has one and I love it for sure
The Chaser ran a 1J VVTI 2.5l single turbo inline 6. Awesome engines and now stock worth about $6 to $7k just for the engine alone. So many cool cars. I also worked at a Ford dealer in Melbourne when the XE first came out. Loved seeing the police interceptors 5.8l come in for servicing. Thanks for another awesome vid Mick 😃🤟
The country is full of classics sitting in sheds and fields everywhere. I just rode my motorcycle with mates from Sydney to Phillip Island and back for motogp via country roads and one old house had roughly 20 old commodores lined up from vb-vs. Another had a decent looking Morris mini deluxe, another a ford Anglia 105 next to xc falcons and it went on. Loved it
So did I. Found a road just past a place called “Delegate”. 135 kms of twisties. Talking hairpin after hairpin. Was fantastic. Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did😎👍🏻
@iamthebroker yep that's the brilliant road from delegate to Orbost I just did as well. Myself and 3 mates just having an absolute ball the entire way. Only pasted 2 cars and 1 bike coming the other way
Wow, alot of memories. Loved the Fairlane angle center steering wheel and the awesome Ford Falcon panel van. Great to throw a mattress in the back with the barn doors and head out for a road trip. Who doesn't LOVE a yard full of old cars and alot of these were pretty complete. Please can we have more of these videos...lol. oh surprised didn't see 2850 Torana or Valiant Charger considering walked past the old Mitsubishi Galant.
Well Mick that was eye watering content.I would have walked a mile over broken glass to view those vehicles.I have owned several of the vehicles discovered and recently sold my AU XR8 which I now regret. Those Aussie cars have served NZ well for many years with size and reliability and are rising in value.Cant wait to see if any come home with you.
I enjoy watching your videos and these videos of going through scrap yards. Out of all the cars the Camaro,The square Skyline’s,1920’s looking car are my personal picks.
Whipped me old AU XR8 220 up to 180 kmh today, just to keep it healthy, and was easy peasy ! Cost me about $7500 Aussie back in 2021. The Hand Built with Pride engine's still running hard at 320,000 clic's ! Keep getting exited over roaches....would love to see those ones all re-commisioned !!
The red “fairlane” is an FD LTD. Most likely an EFI 6 (the Bosch system). The white SS was a VR SS auto (824 on the tag confirms it). He had some rather rare later Fords in there too. Nice finds, and hopefully some can be saved.
@@jasonmickleson3202 Same here. It was stolen from under my work on 10/8/01 and never seen again. Got the personal plates back on an XE wagon a week later. Hi Mick i bought a gen 3 berlinetta in 1996 only sold it this year i put a 4 bolt main 350 crate motor in it had 27 yrs of fun great car Mick from Toowoomba
Hey, mate. Being that I'm a Yooper Yank, I love that red Ford Taurus Ute with the flatbed at 26:08. We cannot get such production vehicles in America, unless they are fullsized single or quad cab trucks. Chevrolet and Ford just stopped producing the El Caminos and the Rancheros around 1984. Now, most folks who want one, have to modify a sedan or saloon.
I would have a field day in there with all those AU tickfords( yes I know stop laughing ). I have owned my 98 series 1 au tickford XR8 for 12yrs and she has never let me down , yes including the 2 rear wings lol. As usual great Aussie content mate.
whoever brought the collection is sitting on a goldmine in the badges alone, just one tickford winged badge can go for 50 bucks, the au xr fronts can cost 2k or more and the xh indicator covers go for 600 bucks also the au was the last falcon tuned by john bowe, after that (the fpv era) it was all designed in house at ford
What a gold mine of cars I'm sitting here broke but straight away my mind started hitting overdrive with so many possibilities in that yard with some know how there's definitely money 💰 to be made flipping and plenty of keepers there too.
Field of dreams. Makes me feel old knowing I owned/drove quite a number of the cars you saw as wrecks. Particularly the XD,E,F series. First car was a 4.9 (302) 1979 XD Falcon. The yard was obviously not in Queensland as you would have had a brown snake latched on to a calf muscle walking through the long grass like that. Great video though.
The red R31 skyline silo would be 89/90 as its got the S3 fount, the white silo would probably be 87/88 and the Ti would probably be 86 to mid 88 from what I can see on the video anyway. love watching ya videos mate keep up the good work😊
Holden man myself but like fords too especially the XR’s that XH ute at the beginning was a beauty as was the Fairlane. Love this content mate, like that 64 in your shed too. We have a 63 Special that has been in our family since new!
Used to drive one of those Skyline auto's would do @1000k's a week, no where near as good as the VL with the same engine. Then work gave me an EA falcon but again only a 3.3 litre. Would love one of those XH 5.0 litre utes, cheers.
12:56 iroc camaro is cool 15:2821:25 skyline is cool too With all those 300z it's probably still fairly affordable to get one and get parts for it. Aussies really like their v8 big sedans it seems I wonder which engine is the most popular ones for engine swaps there. Cool video man thanks for filming this.
I could save that, that, that, that and that…. So many decent 90’s and 00’s classics there with good options. Love the early AU with the biplane rear wing and factory bodykit. Really worth saving. Especially with the 5 speed.
Toyota supra for me. I love walking around wreckers. So many cool cars! I hope you got one atleast out of it. Get the Camaro out through the fence and put the fence back up again. Great content!
Wow, some incredible finds in there, and a lot of it good enough to put back on the road if you wanted to. The Toyota is a JZX100 Chaser, used to be a pretty cheap import back in the day, now quite sought after. Same engine family as the 2JZ, but the 1JZ is 2.5L instead of 3 litre.
Hey Mick another interesting vid. Such a graveyard of cars any one of which is worth saving. I think I would be going for the SS Commy. The gen 3 Camaros are a underrated 80's car. I have had one for many years and it is a joy to drive.
The Chaser Tourer V is the top spec, and what everybody wants, so even in that condition, I'd say it's quite valuable and worth rescuing. I'd drag that home given half a chance! I'd be quite tempted by that low km falcon at 5.40 too. And are those speakers behind the rear headrests?
Great vid, thanks for braving the walk through all that long grass. I often wondered where so many of the mid 90s V8 Holdens and Fords went, I think you have found the answer. Any of these for sale or all gone now? Cheers
How bloody cool is that Mick wow mate!! Some of those V8 late model falcons were unreal and not real common mate.. What a unreal find mate great work 👍 👌
Like a kid in a candy store, I know how you feel, Mr. Mick! Being a Chevy fan I’d go with the ‘Maro IROC-Z. The IROC-Z was available from 1985-1989. If the 8th character in the VIN is “F” it should be the 305 (5.0) tuned port injection engine. If the 8th character is “8” it should be the 350 (5.7) tuned port injection engine. An easy way to tell on the outside is there should be a “5.7 Tuned Port Injection” badge on the left side of the rear bumper cover underneath the driver side taillight; because we drive on the proper side up here.😅
I got a yard like that next to me all Commodore, though, 😂 and he says he has more elsewhere 😊 some nice condition rigs, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
The white AU seemed like it would be the pick of the bunch for a quick do-er upper to me. Not my favourite car but it sure looked pretty mint. One thing is for sure, he has a lot of desirable cars in there with cool drivelines, not too many shitters.
How on earth did you survive walking around those cars without being bitten by a reptile or a rat or a rampant dog, standing on stinging nettles, attracting some form of mutated disease or catching tetanus from rusty metal? You make some brave intrepid bushman look like whips. By the way, I enjoyed the video.....
Hahhaha I just don’t over think it mate I sort it out as it comes Hahha, honestly that grass was so thick even if I stood on a snake it wouldn’t have been able to lift its head to strike hahaha Well that’s my thoughts anyhow Hahha. 🍺🍺👍👍
This was a great video, I saw cars there that I would of never scene. There was only one ride I knew that was the Camero, surprising to me the steering wheel was in the right place, lol. Pretty great opportunity to wander and look. At one time we had u pull it yards were the thing here, not so much any more... Still thanks for the different video....
Cheers Steve and thanks for watching from the states mate I’m flattered that my little videos have reached that far . Yeah what yr is that iron and do you think it will be a 305?
Why would ya. That vs ss would run rings around any lj or lc tori on a race track. That's why i chose to keep my vs ss instead of my lj witch i had a full sbc conversion ready to go in. The vs was engineered to run that driveline. 30 extra years of bathurst engineering to be exact. Plus already irs, power windows n pump unleaded, ac and proper demister n not as many leaks witch suck in winter whilst try to keep rust away. It's already built and only 1300 kg. Toris around 1200 with v8 driveline
Its amazing how much we just dont care about stuff these days what a waste of cars & such a shame to see them like this But cheers thanks for the walk around
The falcon panel van looked pretty good, condition, those XF always had a rust problem but the Ute's there didn't look real rusted, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Hey, mate. I'm from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in America's Midwest, and i just subcribed to your feed after your crawl through the abandoned-since-1995 salvage yard. We up here have heavy winters and much rock salt is spread on our roads, which leads to cancer of the undercarriage. But I have seen cars almost as rusty as those, still being driven here. We Yoopers don't have State DMV emissions inspections.
The Toyota is a MKlll Supra. This is my car find heaven. EF’s taillights had the clear indicator covers and the EL’s had the amber covers. Also the EF’s XR6’s and XR8’s have rounded twin round headlights and the EL’s were Squared. Just like VR Commodores have Square side indicators and the VS has Oval ones. I think that a few very early versions of the VS got left over square indicators but for the most part it’s a pretty easy way to tell them apart from a distance.
Lots of money sitting there in engines etc , those r31 skylines are a needle in a haystack they just dont make them like they used to the new fords and Holdens are nothing on the older ones for styling great video mick took me back a few years
Thanks for the heads up I ended up buying that white ma70 supra for 4 times the price that it was worth off the scrappy he had me by the balls it was pay the ransom and he wouldn't sell just the parts I needed supra parts are rare and expensive! Ill have the parts now to finish my ma70 supra turbo yes the scrappy bought everything I was lucky I chased it up yesterday Saturday if id left it another day she be gone crushed up on a truck to return as a toaster! There was a incredible amount of rare options cars utes etc blew me away there is another 3 yards full of cars I had a tear seeing what the excavator was crushing up and loading on the truck keep the videos coming cheers cs kurri kurri nsw

Love to catch up with you one day for a beer and a yarn and our what we love cars! Chris
That Toyota at 37:00 is something called a Chaser, 2JZ engine. There was some trim inside the car with the name. Great video, hope for big things in that lot.
Gosh, I'd take all those 300zx's (I'm down to only 7 left now 😅) Thanks for the strole down memory lane. Seems only yesterday the streets were filled with all those cars. Happy to say I've weathered better than them.
Thar was really cool Mike hay how about that first red fairlane shit that took me back abit some real cool stuff there worth saving mate great vid mike keep them coming I really look forward to them and enjoy them
Geez Mick - was terrified waiting for a big brown Joan Blake and the kids to latch onto ya leg. Some great stuff in there. Uncle down Lake Mac was a used car dealer, had access to a RHD IROC Z from the yard, bought it to a family show ~1990. My Dad took it for a spin said it wouldn't pull the skin off a rice custard. If there was a decent XD sedan in there, that would be me.

I grew up with all these cars. Appreciated them all. Sad to see them all in these states except for the iroc and the Audi.
🍺👍
How on earth did you survive walking around those cars without being bitten by a reptile or a rat or a rampant dog, standing on stinging nettles, attracting some form of mutated disease or catching tetanus from rusty metal? You make some brave intrepid bushman look like whips. By the way, I enjoyed the video.....
Hahhaha I just don’t over think it mate I sort it out as it comes Hahha, honestly that grass was so thick even if I stood on a snake it wouldn’t have been able to lift its head to strike hahaha
Well that’s my thoughts anyhow Hahha. 🍺🍺👍👍
Mick was probably wearing thongs too 😂
@@backshed5295 beer is a great anti venom for mick 😂😂
@@MrLurchsThings Hahhaha not this time mate I had boots but only shorts Hahhah 🍺🍺👍👍
@@TheTruckdriver999 I’ll keep that in mind mate 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺👍
This was a great video, I saw cars there that I would of never scene. There was only one ride I knew that was the Camero, surprising to me the steering wheel was in the right place, lol. Pretty great opportunity to wander and look. At one time we had u pull it yards were the thing here, not so much any more... Still thanks for the different video....
Cheers Steve and thanks for watching from the states mate I’m flattered that my little videos have reached that far . Yeah what yr is that iron and do you think it will be a 305?
That VS SS would give great running gear for a future project...Perfect for LC/LJ.
100%
That car is also repairable , it really wasn’t hit very hard at all👍🍺
i would put that car back on the road in a heart beat.i have an ex cop vs ss and always get asked if i want to sell it
Why would ya.
Few good classics there l would definitely take a au xr home
👍🍺
Its amazing how much we just dont care about stuff these days what a waste of cars & such a shame to see them like this
But cheers thanks for the walk around
There will be a lot saved from this yard it’s being cleaned out as we speak🍺🍺👍
What a gold mine! Ain't no shame in admiring a clean AU Mick. Its great that you can admire all the different flavours, GM, Ford, Nissan etc.
Cheers mate 🍺🍺👍
Sorry man the interior in those cars is to nice for you. Just kidding.
Your 100% right though mate hahah🍺🍺👍
They are all a quickly depleting resource that are in high demand.Who ever snagged the lot cars has acquired a body/parts gold mine.
100% mate🍺🍺👍
Ford door handles
Lol
Awesome vid Mick
Hahaha yep garbage! Hahaha🍺🍺👍
The Ford panel van - it actually looked in reasonable condition.👍
It did mate 🍺🍺👍
The falcon panel van looked pretty good, condition, those XF always had a rust problem but the Ute's there didn't look real rusted, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Cheers Donald thanks for coming back again🍺🍺
Cheers for watching mate🍺🍺👍
The Toyota is a MKlll Supra. This is my car find heaven. EF’s taillights had the clear indicator covers and the EL’s had the amber covers. Also the EF’s XR6’s and XR8’s have rounded twin round headlights and the EL’s were Squared.
Just like VR Commodores have Square side indicators and the VS has Oval ones. I think that a few very early versions of the VS got left over square indicators but for the most part it’s a pretty easy way to tell them apart from a distance.
🍺🍺👍
Mate that red ZK LTD would make a great rescue..you need to take that one home Mick ..cheers
I’ll try mate🍺🍺👍
Gee the Stingose would've got a workout that night mate...amazing stuff!

That Toyota at 37:00 is something called a Chaser, 2JZ engine.
There was some trim inside the car with the name.
Great video, hope for big things in that lot.
🍺👍
*It's a Chaser but that one only has the 1JZ 2.5 litre engine. The 2JZ is a 3.O litre engine 💯*
🍺🍺👍
Ohhhhhh some classy machines there! Good goat skills mate, kick back and have a few cold snack! 👍🍺
Doing that right now mate🍺🍺👍
That blue 98 xh v8 Ute looks very nice. Or the silver one. Plenty of Utes to chose from. Balls of steel walking around in that shit.
I hope you got something interesting home with you!
😉
Thx for showing!
👍👍👍
🍺🍺👍
Gosh, I'd take all those 300zx's (I'm down to only 7 left now 😅)
Thanks for the strole down memory lane. Seems only yesterday the streets were filled with all those cars. Happy to say I've weathered better than them.
🍺👍
The red Fairlane would be the pick of the bunch for me , she deserves a comeback .
🍺👍
Great video hopefully these cars don't get stripped or scraped 2:47 I want that ute always looking for a falcon outback though
🍺🍺👍
Thar was really cool Mike hay how about that first red fairlane shit that took me back abit some real cool stuff there worth saving mate great vid mike keep them coming I really look forward to them and enjoy them
I’m trying on that fairlane 🍺👍cheers mate👍🍺
Geez Mick - was terrified waiting for a big brown Joan Blake and the kids to latch onto ya leg. Some great stuff in there. Uncle down Lake Mac was a used car dealer, had access to a RHD IROC Z from the yard, bought it to a family show ~1990. My Dad took it for a spin said it wouldn't pull the skin off a rice custard. If there was a decent XD sedan in there, that would be me.
Hahaha yep a Tbi 305 isn’t exactly a race car hahhahaha , if I get hold of it maybe I can fix that 🍺🍺🍺👍
Another great video Mick . I think that falcon wagon converted was for wheel chairs 🤔
Yeah maybe mate🍺🍺👍
The r31’s are mint!
🍺👍
That pv with the barn doors would be unreal
100%👍👍🍺
Man! Some really good old bones there, so many cars I'd want to save in there ha ha
100% mate🍺🍺👍
