These cars need to be saved, and put back on the road, or into museums. We don't make cars here anymore, so should remake what we have. To anyone with the talent and enthusiasm to save these, get over there and make offers.
Love your videos. I'm in the states but love Aussie cars as much or even more than the cars over here. I'm a mechanic, have been for almost 40 years and would love an Aussie classic muscle car to own or even move to Australia and be a mechanic over there. I'm a GM person but love all the old cars. GM, Ford Or Chrysler. If you ever need a hand finding cars or parts here in the states just let me know what you need and I can more than likely find it for you and in good condition. The land is the lowest value land you can buy in the area given the current use of it. Scrap value is one thing but I reckon it would be a quick way to turn a $1,000,000 into $200,000. Ol' mate doesn't look like He is a millionaire, just pretending to be.
Just a crime if these awesome cars may be lost forever

A heads up to the potential new owner,please keep the yard as is,to keep Australian motoring history so people can keep visiting this rare field of dreams.
Plenty of tragic wrecks telling a silent & sorry story down there at Flynn's, you can even see in some where the driver was pinned & trapped or otherwise died. The Monaro Highway is no joke, high speed traffic, narrow road, drugged, drunk & sleep deprived drivers all day everyday.only separated from a head-on by a white line and a few centimetres.
@no fun many of them aren't too rusty... for example this VC Commodore that needs about $80 of work to repair
If you ask many ,, this yard called Flynn should be heritage listed , an just kept clean n tidy by a gold coin donation to visit it an explore the cars of decades ago

Went past years ago on shooting trip and saw it from the road as we drove past…still regret not stopping in for a look.
Having said that, the TA22 Celica project could do with a few parts so who knows, a last minute road trip could be in order!

i wouldn't mind getting a old FX -FJ just for my front yard as garden art would be awesome .
Some bloke in Wallandbeen, NSW has done just that:- a rusty FX shell set up in his front yard as part of his garden, presumably for passersby to admire as they zoom past.
I stopped my car to get a photo, but his dawgs were so noisy that I promptly cancelled the idea and got back in my car.

Wayne wants too much for everything, I lived in Cooma for 20 years. If he was realistic with his prices he would have made alot more money.
quite a few of us car nuts don't have a problem with the prices, hence why there is a growing number of 'empty' places in the rows

No way will they crush them worth more in full body's just need to advertise and sell off at a nice price not beeing greedy beeing so remote should keep prices down and save them all 🙏

Yeah, to many, it's just paddocks full of worthless, rusty wrecks. But for some of us, this is Aladdin's cave.
A lot of them aren't as rusty as they look.. I grew up across the road and spent a lot of time there over the years.. the rust just isn't as big an issue as other areas.. its very green now but this yard is usually very dry.. most cars aren't sitting in the dirt etc.

I'd love to win the lotto and buy it, take my pick, build a bunch of sheds and get as much as possible out of the weather. anything 2000 and newer can sit outside and move things in as the decades roll by. old school wreckers like this that just have the parts no longer exist and if everything gets crushed its going to be a travesty.

luckily the classic car market along with current car market and house and land prices are falling and hopefully back to reality !!

I didn't see a single example of my favourite model:- the HK - HG Holden of any kind. Maybe they've all been snapped up and being restored 🤞🤠

Snow mountains did not use Toyota Landcruiser they use land rover my farther in law worked there driving cat bulldozer
They did use them, but from 1957/8 on, a dozen or so to begin with. The scheme started in 1949, so you are right that Landrovers were used.
yes, it did: Qld based Thiess was a construction contractor on the Snowy (bulldozing dams etc) and it 'tested' a few Cruisers on its jobs in the late 1950s. From that grew the import company Thiess Toyota

That's why that office area is full of pulled parts. He tells you to go and get what you want, you get back with the parts & He hits you with his non negotiable way over the top number. Then says put them down there if you don't like it. Been there...Done that.
@@dustyfarmer i wish someone told me what he was like before i drove 6 hours to go there ,, the guy is delusional thinking he can first charge $10 to get in , then ask drug money for everything . and if he really thinks that the place is worth $2.5 million he is delusional ..if he has 3000 cars there ,which i very much doubt . that's about $600,000 in scrap maximum . the land isn't worth 2milion
@@damon0099 The return on $2.5 million if you had it in the bank at 3% is $75,000 P.A. If you had to borrow $2.5 Million to buy it, forget it. The repayments would be in the tens of thousands per month & no bank in Australia would lend on that even after anything more than a quick glance at the turnover. I'd say old mate has a figure in mind that he needs to make the move into retirement & that's what he's chasing. I see it all the time with people selling up on the south coast trying to get silly money & big city prices for their remote & small town houses so they can move back to the city for health care & because of their age & earning capacity they have no borrowing capacity so the need to sell for a dollar figure, not market value in the area they are in. That's another reason why he's selling it himself, no realestate agent would waste their time, effort & money listing it at that price as it would never sell. I did a quick count using the satellite picture on Google maps & I too highly doubt the 3000 car figure.

I would do is organise the yard, keep the good vehicals crush the Vehicals that are too far gone, get a team together send out a sales rep to Super cheap, Repco, Rare Spares etc buy parts etc....

@@glenntorrens8988 Babies were born & grew to adulthood while that car sat there all those years with many people asking "how much is that" with the reply "Nah, too much". Now it's going out of business means any half decent price, cash in hand is better than a closing down auction price of who knows what.

Everyone's seen places like this ......I bet my left nut he asks far too much money for his cars, and as a result, nothing moves.....No one wins..... They'll end up being scrapped, because it's more efficient....Either that or this "I'm selling up " is just one big Sales ploy.........
