Wow! Brilliant piece, it looks so like enamel. Yes, there were a few places when I couldn't see what you were doing, but that was because you had the camera on close up, which gave a great view of what you were doing and I don't think much was missed through this. Well done and thanks for sharing Kalyana.

I also work in stained glass and the process of putting the lines in as you put the pieces together may be a bit easier for some folks. I am a newcomer to clay though. :)

Stained glass is easier. Here you have to have individual cells bordered by slightly raised border lines so you can put the Diamond glaze on to imitate enamel. For stained glass you just use the embossing powder like in this tutorial I made here ua-cam.com/video/zKyeCOpWErY/v-deo.html

Hey! Always late to the party me!!! Gorgeous technique! Please may I ask... have you tried "pre-baking" the "wire'" to make it a little less unwieldy? I guess that in the thicknesses you are working in you would still have the flexibility bend and manipulate it without fractures, breakages or splits? Thank you for the great videos. I've just become a subscriber! :)

PS.... have just tried making the wire by running clay through a really fine extruder + 10 min pre-bake. Results: Fimo pro: ok. Fimo soft: great. Super Sculpey : Oh dear! Too brittle. Pardo: gave up when I broke the extruder with it! Lol.

Yes, I thought about that, but then I'd need liquid clay and the section is too thin to be sure of getting proper bonding. That's why I preferred raw clay

Well see I don't use round strands, I use straight ones in this. You can actually use real wire if you want.

Thank you! Two excellent points, well made! The aperture I used on the extruder was a 0.5mm square, but in truth, your method is so much less effort - unless of course you need miles of it. By the time the machine is set up, used and cleaned you would have made fifty pieces! Lol! I must put my hand up to being a bit of an experimental nerd - the kind of numpty that sees a time honoured process and simply has to mess about with it (with some successes and some EPIC fails!) hence the need to have various types of clay on hand to experiment with. The last word from me describes all your work.... stunning!

I would sure enjoy learning this a lot more if I could see what you are doing. It would really help since I am new at this. Also what is TLS?

Oh sweetheart, then I'm sure you can find other channels where the people show better what they're doing, here you got an old woman with poor eyesight. So you got a choice: either you're interested in what I'm trying to show in my tutorials and you forgive the times when my hands don't work right or I can't see well and I bring the piece to my eyes out of camera view, or you move on to other people's channels. Because unfortunately I can't do more than what my health issues,, physically, allow me to, do. Read my "about" section. TLS is Translucent Liquid Sculpey.

Click on the little gear at the bottom right of the screen and play the video at a slower rate. When I made this video I had a lower internet speed and it took hours to upload 10 minutes of video, so I was speeding up in order to not waste half a day to upload.
