I have a deposit on one of these super sports. I was considering the v2. What are your thoughts on the V2 and did you consider getting a panigale for the model year of your super sport?
glenn thanks for the vid. i have a 17 SS as well. in regard to the horrible mirrors that are almost pointless at highway speeds, would you still do it the same way if you had to do it over again? the bar ends just seem far out of the view for me when cruising and it seems like i'd have to make a huge head movement to see them...
Why doesn't the Super Sport come with a steering dampner, or is that only for extreme bike riding or racing. Is it better not to have one for City use?
It's not a "slip-on", it's a full exhaust that gets rid of the cat converter...it does use the stock head pipes, making it easier to install than Akrapovic...sounds better and is lighter, too.
Mine has CW pipe, with removable, custom quite insert, Marchesini forged wheels off a 1098, Ducati carbon front & rear fenders, most bolts replaced with titanium, crappy Chinese wheel bearings replaced, also mine's an S model with quick-shift and Ohlins superb suspension...don't really like your mirrors, they're too far away from your line-of-sight...the stock mirrors look better & they fold, and the turn signals are better...also don't like the integrated taillight. The Competition Werkes tail-tidy is much nicer, and comes with smaller, but very visible turn signal pods.
A tinted vs a clear screen, that you actually can see through with a tinted visor, is what separates the noobs vs the true racers. Waste of money on mostly useless mods is my verdict. A steering damper, heated grips and a pair of bags would make some sense.

Yeah I would, I enjoyed the bar end mirrors but buy the good ones.

A steering dampner will prevent death wobble. High speed wheelies etc. They are also expensive and I assume ducati was trying to keep price lower
