This is a lovesick poem that looks to the stars to portray a deep, isolated yearning for the love of another. the protagonist feeling lost and disconnected despite being "miles high in the sky," suggesting a sense of isolation and disorientation. The repeated reference to being alone and "orbit[ing] out of control" emphasizes this feeling of being adrift in the vastness of the universe. However, the chorus provides a glimmer of hope as the protagonist focuses on the image of their loved one "dressed in the moon." This metaphorical description evokes a sense of beauty and mystery, as well as a feeling of being connected to someone else. The idea that they "can live forever" if they "set together like constellations" suggests a desire for a lasting and profound connection. The final verse describes the two lovers "intertwine[ing] like satellites," echoing the earlier image of orbiting and highlighting the desire for closeness and mutual dependence. The repeated refrain of "Honey, all I see is you / Dressed in the moon" reinforces the idea that this person is the focal point of the protagonist's world and underscores the longing for a deeper connection.
As a fan you may already know the song, but a great older Holding Absence song with a message is Penance. May be worth a reaction.
As a therapist, please listen that track
