" After recording this, she probably went outside and played on the swing set with her little sister because that's what geniuses do." That statement has stuck with me, and I remember it every time I hear this song. Since my accidental discovery of Angelina about a year ago, I have been in continual awe of her. She is the most versatile contemporary singer that I am aware of. There are other singers who can do this or that particular thing better than Angelina, but I am aware of no other who can expertly employ so many techniques across so many genres. Her ability to emote is second to none in my experience. I am so grateful that I found her.
Her choices are near perfection. She is one of those rare people that like Stevie Ray Vaughn with his guitar, Angelina can take the music and emotion that is in her and when she opens her mouth it just flows out. All the listening she did gave her a color palette that is unrivaled in the industry and as she progressed she was able to use and refine more and more of those colors--integrated with her unique talent, tone, heart and soul and her connection with others you are left with her genre-less reinvention of music that is uncopyable. Add a tremendous amount of time and work with her love of what she does and this is what you get. I enjoy your video's.

I start my day with her while drinking my coffee. Every day since allmost 9 years now. And at least every other day she manages to make me cry. She is imo the best singer on the planet. This was the first time I'd heard this song, I didn't know the original. I thought it was so emotional , and Angelina so young. I remember one of the judges at her perfomances in Norway's Got Talent saying that she was an old soul, and born to sing. I have to agree. She is very special.

“I never dreamed I’d lose someone like you.” I’ve read that Chris Issac wrote this song after his suffering a dreadful breakup over the phone.
Kind of makes sense that his video was filmed on a beach with an incredibly beautiful woman. Although I wouldn’t recommend that to get over the pain, it makes sense from a worldly point of view.
This rendition is full on emotional...not much POP here...only Angelina imagines music like this!

Whenever Angelina covers a song it straight becomes the best cover of that particular song, in my opinion. Sometimes I prefer hers than the original (or actually always) 😅
She was still just a little girl when she did this cover, but she sounded like her heart was destroyed by love, and made it realistic. What is she going to sing like when she actually knows real heartbreak? I would hope she never has her heart broken. But we all do.

It seems to me that it always right to acknowledge the contributors to such a moving video. Sune Amtoft put this together, one of my favorite fan videos of Angelina....with quite significant sound enhancement by Boris Palenovski. How she manages to convey the essence of the obsession in the song remains as a marker of her sublime talent...

This was around the time her grandfather passed, I take it that he was her father figure, such a loss for her! Now I think her Uncle Mike is her father figure!
