I need to find a recorded version of Dallas singing Bobcaygeon!!
Fuck that guy can sing like the fucking wind!!!
I wish City and Colour would release one! Saw him sing Bobcaygeon live in 2016 and have wanted it ever since.
it took me a long time to watch Gord's tributes... I didn't think I could handle it... still not certain, but I'm trying. RIP you weird
genius
Everytime I watch this I cry. I love Gord I'm very grateful for what he left behind and taught us.
@@annietikivik246 I cry everyday, because I miss him so much. I have to try not to think about him somedays, but I have tributes to him in my house all over.
So many years after his passing I still come back to this. What a lovely tribute to an amazing man. What a life he lived to affect people so greatly. Rest in peace gordie
Beautiful tribute. #ThanksGord
Dallas’s interpretation here is absolutely sublime. You can hear his and Sarah’s love for their friend just beautifully.
Dallas and Sarah's harmonies at the end were, just...wow. RIP.
drumtravelfun two phenomenal musicians paying tribute to one of the greats.
The harmonies were just right
I started crying before I even clicked on this
You, too? I don't think I have been as affected by someone's death as I have been by our beautiful Gord. Actually, Prince's death really got me, but Gord....well, Gord.
@@Tassie85 sane. My heart still aches every time I turn on my Hip tunes.
Gord Downie was too good for this world. That's the only way I can make sense of losing him.
Dallas Green is such a great singer. it's not even funny. That guy is just pure gold each time he step behind a mic. RIP Gord
The very first time listening to the tragically hip in the early 90s, I actually thought they were a American group. I thought what a unique and amazing band, I found out later they were a Canadian band, not that it has anything to do with their music, but I became a hip fan, and still am, I'm an ojicree native, and the hip had fans everywhere I'm sure, their music most definitely had a universal language that spoke to many.
Dallas is the most underrated songwriter, musician of this generation. He is a genius and has the voice of a angel. Thank you Dallas
Casey from The Dear Hunter. Dallas has the voice of an angel but has become overrated this past decade. Casey's got one of my favourite voices with a lot of range, he's also a way better musician & songwriter than Dallas. & I've seen Dallas & Alexis over 15 times here in Toronto. I even have an Alexis tattoo, but yeah, The Dear Hunter blows him away. No question. Incredibly underrated. I'd recommend The Dear Hunters Audiotree Live session & the Color Spectrum live DVD on UA-cam. They've only gotten better with age
@@curbfeld9558 overrated...you must be high
Overrated haha you must be on another planet. He only gets credit within Canada and never gets recognized how can ypu say he is overrated.
My brother used to beat his emo ass up for lunch money 😂
what
I never realized how beautiful this song is with a two part harmony.
The story from both sides. It’s just as beautiful
When I was 16, I left my home in Canada to go live in another country. It was Gord and the music of The Hip that helped me find my way back home. I'll never forget.
That’s the most beautiful and poetic thing I’ve ever read
I think I held my breath for the entirety of _Bobcaygeon_ so as not to miss a single note.
That was one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. What a perfect tribute.
Gord Downie carried a passion and conviction in his lyrics and performances that very few artists could ever match. He inspired millions through his poetry and purpose, and I feel blessed to have been able to enjoy him for the last 3 decades. RIP Gord.
There are 10 people with thumbs down ! I don't know what is going on in there lives but I hope some day they can feel the beauty and love this man has for his Family , his art , his band mates and his country ! Life is Beautiful and this man let me see this through his eyes and I thank him for this . Thanks Gord
read the comments ... i think it has more to with this Dallas dude feud of fans and not fans of some sort ... snot noses bringing there lil sisters backyard talent comment to Gords tribute trying to act all fckn a propo on music ... idiots and hosers
Makes me tear up every time I watch it. 😢 such a beautiful tribute. I can’t believe he’s gone.
Life is so unfair.. beautiful video compilation of a gorgeous man gone too soon ❤️ 15 years fan of Dallas from the UK, didn’t know who Gord was before he was on Sleeping Sickness, then last year I found this Bobcaygen cover and then learnt of Gords passing and really started listening to the Hips’s music.. so sorry for Canada he seems like a absolute legend xxx ❤️
He's someone that told us ...
His last performance with the Hip, he told us...
Gord KNEW ...he was the guy that told people about the places that produced those 215 graves.
It's the Canada he knew we could find. It's the Canada he SAW before he left this world.
I wanna be there that day when we see it. When we get there.
Amazing. Gord will be missed
Tears... tears flowing. RIP Gord.
"Listening to Gord is making me cry. You're leaving me high in Canada Dry...". Thanks BNL for paying homage to this great soul. See you in heaven, God willing.
I'm 1:38 in and I'm already crying like a little school girl.
I lost my best friend the same day that I lost my favourite musician October 17th 2017 will forever be the worst day I've spent on earth, and heavens greatest day.
Respect
I have watched this so many times, I can't count. My love for Gord Downie and The Tragically Hip is beyond the words I can ever express. But I just need to say, that this Remembrance of HIM, makes me so happy and I love it so much. So, I am thankful for all of you, for your tribute to Mr Gord Downie
You read my mind......beyond beautiful and made me extremely emotional
I am so glad I got about 5 minutes of one on one time with him here In Detroit
RIP Gord. We love you and will continue to follow in your footsteps to help with reconciliation.
First time seeing this... awesome! Peace and love from the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. RIP Gord....🙏❤️🇺🇲🇨🇦
Everytime I watch this I cry. What he left behind I cannot put to words. He has helped so many people. ❤ courageous big heart.
The woman with the hockey stick just kills me every time.
Gord Downie was such an incredible person. My heart hurt to hear he passed, and I love learning more about his incredible work and legacy.
Dallas Green has such a lovely voice. Wow.
Thank you Canada for such an amazing band ❤️

Miigwetch for everything Gord! Awesome tribute.
Almost 2023 and we’re still here Gord 💕
2024, and still here!
Canada has great musicians. Gems
After all this time, I can just weep, about Gord, and his legacy, and the beautiful renditions of his work, and his friends
Remembering a beautiful Canadian spirit. "Ahead by a century"....interesting...
Patx
My friend and I met Gord at a Waterkeepers fundraiser. Despite his monumental impact on the Canadian psyche and identity, it was my 30 min interaction with him that left me with a sense of peace and awe because he was so attentive and kind and wanted to know so much about us. He is what we should all aspire to be. RIP Gord.
Sarah Harmer's voice is so comforting.
The reel they show of gord when city and colour plays always gets me 🥲
God I miss him! Feels like we're still trying to find our voices again after having our nations vocal chords removed!
5:09 Dallas Green’s cover was so good!
My "introduction" to Canada - Ontario and driving into Kingston down the "Hip" way.... listening to Wheat Kings.... on my way to Gananoque ... I wanted to stay forever and listen to Gord
Girlfriend new to Canada heard the song Bobcaygeon Never knowing the words she bobbed her head And said whats the song about ? ..I was all about telling her The hip is about Canada its a fibre i can't explain.........That weekend i took her to Bobcaygeon Layed on a picnic table drinking beers as the night sky fell in the background went to the car and played Bobcaygeon...She said...I get it ....wow
Sweet person that me and my husband were lucky to meet in Chicago in the 90s when my husband won a writing contest to go back stage. I love your music even more today
Love how Peter Mansbridge wrote "determined" on his his hand. For us to see how Gord helped us. A quiet homage to "Introduce Yerself".
How does a guy who gave so much go out on such a classy high
Gord Downie sang like a rusty hinge!!
please blot treadeau out of this video as he lied to Gord and everybody else
Wow Peter, lead singer of Australia's Midnight Oil. Makes sense though, since they both support the Indigenous of their countries.
They toured together in the 90s on Another Roadside Attraction.
Speechless , if people can sing like that everyone should be happy to be on this planet because I can't get enough of this AMAAAAAAAZING performance
3 decades of shooting star brilliance. God bless the honorable genius of Gord Downie.
Frederick Street and King St., Kitchener Ontario used were playing three nights at the centre in the Square. We met you treated me like a gentleman. I’ll never forget it.
One of the few true Beautiful Human Beings.
God must be so proud.
He made me proud to be a Canadian.
You will live on in our hearts "He Who Walks Amongst the Stars."
Dallas really sung Bobcaygeon incredibly beautifully - with a poignant reverence and loving admiration for Gord. Bobcaygeon has always been one of my many many favorite songs by the Hip. RIP Gord
A deep loss 2 us in Canada ......we love u Gord xoxo 2020 ty... Tom Peake ....missing The Hip
Beautiful he would be so proud and thankful and grateful and happy to be Canadian and to see how we all loved him and his amazing talent and heart ♥ fly high with the Angeles
October 17 2017 was a sad day for all of canada rip gordie you will be missed
I saw him. He was right there... A damn Greyhound door in the way. He drove away in a old shitty looking ford150. I know it was him.
Sask.
Perfection
still right in the feels
That was lovely. Very moving.
Beautiful thank you soooooo so much! Miss you gord forever in my heart:)
Peter Garrett from Midnight Oil in there...Midnight Oil toured Canada once upon a time, and the Hip supported them. Gord always said that their two bands were doing the same work in different corners of the world.
such a humble man
Yes. Please. Thank you. Have to mention, my dear Little Beef and rest of crew up yonder that I acknowledge how awesome one of your favorite canuk artists is- every time I listen to him or his stuff. Glad you turned me on years ago. Gives me something of the wonder, bliss, inconceivable comfort and warmth Michael Houser brings when I listen to his stuff. Each time I delve into The Hip I'm more fascinated by his music, his life; and how and why I adore Canadians so much.
Awesome tribute!
who's the lady with the hockey stick. that brought me back to childhood playing in the snow.
I believe she is Pearls sister.
Only 123 comments. Wake up. Love rules.
A caretakeing knight with a gift of translating vision into words. As common people places and truths are memorialized forever in song.
Oh I miss you. So much, thank you
Thanks Gordo, baby. You know exactly what I mean.
BRAVO! I bet not a dry eye watching this wonderful tribute, to a wonderful Canadian musical icon. Miss you Gord!
Balled my eyes out!
Forget it. Just let us remember gord. Nice try. But..haha. no. Sorry
In 2024 Buffy Ste Marie and RFK Jr looking great!
Thank You Gord!!!!
All these years later...still crying
Still not over the loss. Can’t imagine I ever will be over it. He wrote the lyrics to my Canadian life. He raised awareness for Indigenous injustice with such grace. What would he have said today about BLM? I have a guess however I wish I could hear it from him.
Absolutely beautiful.
I see Gord and life is good and plus a huge smile on my face ! Thanks Gord .
Thank you Canada.
A beautiful tribute to Gordie: Rest In Peace Gordie. Does anyone know where one can purchase these versions of the music? Sarah Harmer with Barenaked Ladies’ keyboardist Kevin Hearn performing "Introduce Yerself" and Dallas Green, of City and Colour, performing that beautiful rendition of Gord Downie and The Tragically Hip's song: "Bobcaygeon", and who was later re-joined by Sarah Harmer?
Gord I love u man
ok duet is positively amazing!!
If you can't taste your tears you ain't human
Nailed it.
Ron shortlist Nathan ! For what ? No reason for any of anything - if things are crystal clear than that’s your answer ! For whatever it’s for it’s got nothing to do with my life - changes nothing as usual ! I don’t even want or need to know or need any explanation ! Why would I ? If that makes people happy and it’s everlasting that is perfect ! Uncomplicated rare breeds of people are a commodity and it’s always good if it worked before and it was smooth then it’s perfect ! I’m not anything but tired my life got ruined for no reason ! But that’s not even anything - nothing here haven’t ever talked and been on any social media for 8.5 months and there Nathan !
Thanks, Gord.
Man the Clips of Gord while Dallas Green Sings Bobcaygeon gets you 🥺 RIP Gord
“ the man who walks among the stars”
He is missed greatly.
Awesome,unique lovable Person.
I was able to watch anything about Gord because it was too difficult. It still is but I’m doing it anyway. He was a true human, Canadian, and artist. Man who walks among the stars I pray your legacy lives on and your dream of reconciliation becomes reality. Thank you from a First Nations woman.
