- It's time to finally learn how to crochet the STAR STITCH with my 5th scarf tutorial of this 3rd season. I know it seems like a very daunting task to beginners but, trust me, you can do it! You really only need to learn two rows and then you can go on auto-pilot. As always, don't be intimidated because I provide you with all the detail you could ever want and need with my step-by-step instructions! :)

As with all my tutorials, this video was made with EVERYONE in mind (meaning, at any skill level)--from novice to the most experienced crochet person. Even though the Atreyu Crochet channel is for beginners, I think it's necessary to build upon the basics. The great thing about crocheting is that even the most complicated of patterns can still be broken down to the very basics of crocheting.
Don't ever approach a crochet pattern with doubt. Simply break down the pattern and approach it one stitch at a time. If a stitch is foreign to you, then find a UA-cam tutorial on it, learn the stitch, and resume with the pattern. Although our starting point is that of a beginner, it is also true that that is not our destination.

Your instructions are easy to follow - I love how you clearly identify stitches and hook placement with a separate darning needle. Thank you for filming this tutorial - every time I have tried to crochet the star stitch I get a parallelogram instead of a rectangle (my project tilts to the left), so I am hopeful and I look forward to trying it when my carpal tunnel abates. 😊
