    Could you ask your older daughter (or both daughters) to do a video of her experiences with FLVS, explaining details of her experiences, how long she's been with FLVS and homeschooling in general, pros/cons review of FLVS, how many hours per day does she spend doing school work, how many courses does she take at a time, how long does it take her to complete a course, is she currently dual-enrolled in college/university, how did she deal with socialization, feelings of isolation (especially if she started homeschooling young), loneliness issues, what extra curricular activities has she done, etc, etc. We would love to hear a review directly from an articulate, confident student like your daughter. That would be unique and it's something that is very limited and hard to find online. Thank you and great video! Very informative. If she decides to do it, please let her do all the talking. We want to hear directly from a student. Thanks again!

    Thank you so much for your videos, they've helped me decide my future high school education! I moved from Florida to Russia not too long ago and wasn't able to complete the necessary exam requirements for FLVS Full Time so ended up registering with my county's home school office and switching to Flex but was planning to do my senior year with Full Time because I thought no university would accept me with a home school diploma, but that would mean I still needed travel to the US every year to complete the graduation requirements such as the EOC's and FSA and everything. My counselor wasn't helping much and I was stressing a lot over this. Thanks to you I understand that Flex is the best option for me and graduating as a home school student is no worse than graduating as a public school student! THANK YOU

    thank you for your videos. we've been using flvs for home-school for three years now (flex), and we really like it. I had often worried about the diploma dilemma, but now I don't need to. So for that, I thank you! When we first started this home-school journey, our local elementary school (where I had just removed my 2 daughters) denied my older daughter access to the extra-curricular art class that she had been attending in an after-school program. It was frustrating. The local HS office at our education dept told me that my daughters could only attend after school sports or music/band. I had heard that I could enroll in kids in HS activities, but I had not tried because of my experience with that Elementary school principal denying us access.

      Ypui can only be registered in ONE form of education - Home / Private / Public - and graduate from THERE.
      If you complete the required credits at the school you will get your FL St. diploma. No one will ask you for it, unless you apply to be a flight attendant(?).
      Register as a Home Education Student with the county school office personnel, and graduate as a homeschool student and get a diploma.

    Is FLVS FT the exact same curriculum as Flex? I believe I was told that FT may have live lessons where Flex does not?

    • @TuckerEducationalServices
      @TuckerEducationalServices  7 років тому +1

      We thank you for your question and feedback. Please forgive us for the delay with this reply. FLEX has live classes and tutoring sessions, etc. and the matter of fact is that the FLEX teachers are MUCH more accessable and more helpful than the Full Time FLVS teachers, generally speaking, from the opinion of 100's of FLVS students.
      FLVS Full Time is a 'train wreck!'

    So your saying I can graduate highschool via flvs flex?

    • @TuckerEducationalServices
      @TuckerEducationalServices  7 років тому +7

      Good question! Thank you.
      Yes. Absolutely. The curriculum of flex and full time are the same; FL public school. The credits are the same. You can do everything the same, though with flex, working on your own schedule, you can do more, faster than full time.
      Full time can issue a FL state diploma, and flex issues certificates of completion. The parents of homeschool students issue the diplomas. AND, no university, college, tech school, etc. asks for a diploma! They ask if you graduated and they ask for transcripts, college entrance exam scores, etc. If a student has college credits as a dual enrolled high school graduate, the university may not even ask for test scores.
      Homeschool directors (parents), just like private school directors, issue the transcripts, diplomas, etc. totally legitimate, legal, and accepted by universities, etc.
      The important thing to do is to find out what a university, college, tech school, etc. requires for the high school graduate to have done, and on their transcripts, to be accepted into their university, because a DIPLOMA means nothing to them. NOTHING!
      FLEX is the way to get it done quicker and better. The FLEX teachers are better (my opinion from experience and lots of home education evaluations) and everything about it is better.

    My daughter has been in public school since K and has not had many issues until high school where there has just been so many educational issues. She was an A honors student who has had huge drop in grades due to overcrowding at her school, one and 1/2 hr classes (challenging to sit that long if you are antsy kid) disrepestful staff and teachers! She is in 11th grade.. finishing this term but I want her To start the flex program in January. my question is when she starts in January do her credits from high school get rolled over into her flex program?? not even sure if I’m wording that right actually. And also my concern is her not getting a high school diploma because a lot of the full-time virtual schools seem
    to stress that it’s not the same

    • @TuckerEducationalServices
      @TuckerEducationalServices  5 років тому

      Michelle, sorry for the delay in replying to you. Here is some info that will hopefully help you figure it out.
      FIrst of all, ALL homeschooled students in Florida get a diploma. It's actually called a Homeschool Completion Affidavit and this is the legal graduation document that according to FL statutes must be accepted as proof of graduation by all FL state colleges and universities. That is because in Florida, homeschooling is considered equal to public and private school.
      So, anyone who tells you that the homeschool diploma is not a real diploma, or is somehow "less" is misinforming you and doesn't know Florida education law.
      Secondly, any credits that your daughter earned at her public high school will transfer to her homeschool transcript which YOU will provide. That is because when you send a letter of intent to the county, YOU become the school official of your school in your home. YOu also become the guidance counselor. As such, your parent-issued transcript is considered official, and any credits that she earns while homeschooled will appear on it, as well as any that have transferred from her previous school.
      When you homeschool you can use any curriculum you choose. Some parents choose to use FLVS Flex as one curriculum choice. YOu can use Flex for one course, or as many courses as you choose. However, by using FLVS Flex it is important to understand that FLVS Flex is NOT your child's school. Your homeschool is their school, and Flex is simply one curriculum you use. It can be the only one you use, but even so, it will never be your child's school. Your child's school of record will always be your school - your homeschool. :)

    The parent issues a diploma ? Colleges and schools are going to look at the as a lesser value correct ?

    • @TuckerEducationalServices
      @TuckerEducationalServices  7 років тому +3

      We thank you for your question and your feedback/input here on our educational channel.
      First, most importantly, NO higher education institute (university/college/techical university, etc.) EVER asks to see a diploma, EVER!
      So, NO, absolutely NOT. Home edcuation is a legal and totally viable educational choice. Higher educational institutions consider a home eduction graduate much more ready for their level than a public education graduate, generally speaking. Home education graduates have higher college intrance exam scores, generally speaking. Better study habits, better manners, and actually graduate and finish the university degree, compared to public school graduates.
      They ask for transcripts and/or college instrance exam scores.
