For me Gil, I have to say the heat that I feel on my right leg, even up to my butt. It's been warm down here in Texas, so when it's 100 or more out, you can really feel it lol. It would also be nice if my GSA had an electric windshield. Still love the bike though and love that powah! Did you get some encouraging news from the doctor's visit?
I'm with you on the heat as that was always my pet peeve with the big boxer. She puts out the heat in the summer and humid months. And yes an electric windscreen would take away from its utilitarian charm 🤣🤣🤣. Still dealing with the constant numbness and pain from sciatica and frequent doctor visits etc., etc. However finding some peace in riding for short spurts and commutes despite the buzz in the foot pegs.
@@GBeWinginIt Utilitarian charm... now that's a good one lol! They will get you fixed up Gil. Glad you are finding peace in riding that beautiful machine. Take care and please show ole Milo some love for me!
I was gonna say I don't have any issues with my Street Glide, but it could definitely use a comfier seat and better suspension. Other than that, I've added comfort and touring features, and I dig the power, relative smoothness, looks, sound, etc.
@@GBeWinginIt Well, compared to my wife's Sportster, my Glide is way smoother... and once you're rollin', it's like butter :D Really, you only feel the vibrations when you're at a stop and it's hot out, so the engine shuts off the rear cylinder.
My Niggle on the 2010 Wing is that on occasion, I run out of lean angle. I know, I shouldn’t be over that far, but the bike handles so well, it happens now and again…
I really hate the GW trunk. The way it opens, I need to move my seat bag to get it open. Or if there is a passenger, they must lean forward or get off.
I bought a 23 Goldwing DCT non-tour based on your reviews and it's perfect for me in my accumulating years. My niggle however is that the bike doesn't interface with Rever from my iPhone. It is possible that it might once I get Carplay (needs yet another 3rd party bluetooth interface...) going and I'm a few days away from that. Living in New England, my routes are super complex (maybe why there aren't many complaints like mine) and the bike has this fat juicy screen for the map, and it all just falls flat with the lame Honda GPS system. The bike handles twisties magically, and the nav system just isn't on the same level as the rest of the bike. If Honda had struck a deal with Rever and made it work like stock, the bike would be insane. Oh well...
Weren’t you going to see a Doctor about that sciatic pain G? Any attempts at finding specific Sciatic nerve relief stretches and foam rolling techniques? My niggle is, at times it’s difficult to clearly see the small fonts on my dash screen, especially if in direct sunlight on my 22 DCT Tour Wing. You are right about top loading cases. They are more convenient. But most of the time if you are having to be in and out of a case often, pack that stuff in the top trunk. There’s always going to be some kind of niggle. I’m happy riding and looking at the bike. The bike functions so good, all the rest is a compromise I’m willing to make.
2018 Goldwing Tour, my niggle is the seat. Trying to figure out the best solution without spending high dollars for something that may not solve the issue. My next step is trying an Air Hawk
My Niggle on the VStrom is probably the ground clearance. It should be higher for rougher terrain, but then again, I’m short, so if it was much higher, I might have a problem with the height!😂😂😂
@@Motoramblings The older I get the longer it hangs around. I remember in my 40’s it’ll be 3 days tops, in my early fifties maybe a week , nowadays it’s a different story. Gabapentin and Tylenol.
Not sure how adventurous you are on fabricating a modification to your foot peg(s) or if you have machinist/CNC operator friend at work with personal CAD software to help. There are Motorcross Pegs in the aftermarket that isolate your feet from vibration. The cleat itself is completely isolated there is NO Metal to Metal contact because of an elastomer piece sandwiched between the base and cleat portion including for the bolts that hold the cleat to the base. Sadly none for your specific BMW model. I've seen them for an Africa Twin. I believe if you see one maybe you can use the material/design idea to make/modify yours. Even "possibly😬" purchasing one, they are expensive, to see if the mounting of the peg can be modified to fit your frame/foot peg connection point. 1st choice: the IMPACT MOTO PEG 2nd choice: a SPURZ anti-vibe peg, a different design than the IMP but an elastomer isolation design. ✝️🕊️
Always a calming conversation thank you 😊
You are so welcome!

Fair enough! Relative is relative.

On the Goldwing my niggle is where they placed that darn air filter 😳😟 It is a mission to change them out.
Absolutely...We changed our own and it was a MAJOR PAIN. The second time wasn't bad because this time we knew what to do.
It’s quite the adventure getting to it for the first time, and still a bit of a chore the second.

That ain’t no niggle! 😂

Now that’s a legitimate niggle. Knowing you have to make an adjustment every time out to access your belongings.

Would be nice if Honda focused on the TFT user interface. I don’t believe they ever expected anyone to use their GPS SYSTEM. IT’S THAT BAD.

You said it! “A compromise I’m willing to make” this statement in a nutshell sums up a motorcyclist challenge when selecting a bike.

I tried the air hawk and eventually removed it and adjusted to life in the stocker.
New here brother. Subscribed. Like your content. Thanks!
Thanks so much for coming along for the ride.
Not a fan of my stock seat, looking at the Sargent for my GSA…any thoughts?
I hear it’s wider and more comfortable than stock. I may have to take the plunge myself.
I have read that as well. I’m doing it when back from vacay. Hey, btw, got my Bumot panniers after watching your review…love em
