1979 payday,I'm at sight&sound buying my first stack of records so I bought the greatest hits album, listened to it and was hooked, and have been a lifelong fan of the band since ,keep on rockn me baby
@dougpeters1625 the 2 parts of this song where they the "5 claps" I always do that whenever I hear this song. Once, when I was driving, I heard this song, and I took my hands off the steering wheel of my car to do the 5 claps and I actually drove into a ditch.
uh -huh. A timeless jam . As long as there's money in circulation , there will be somebody that will want to run away with it . Comes with the territory . Socialism can't stop it . LOL .
I'm really getting tired of old people saying "music ain't what it used to be" Bullshit. There's still great music being made. You just have to know where to look
I always loved the Steve Miller band, my brother is Three years older then me and he had a couple albums. I got to like there songs , a real cool band.
I saw SMB in Perth, Western Australia a few years back at a festival. I've seen many , many bands and I rate them in my top 5. They were so polished. I'd love to see them again.
la jeune génération écoute aujourd'hui du rap. quant à moi j'écoute encore et toujours ce genre de mélodie. c'est pas mal. Steve Miller est un grand musicien, compositeur et interprète. Merci à lui et à son groupe.
During his upbringing, Steve Miller undertook a university course in Copenhagen, Denmark. I was working there for some years in the 1980s. He came back there Summer1985 and gave us a free concert in the Tivoli Garden.
Awesome !! sounds as good as the day I bought my VERY FIRST cassette ! - "Fly Like an Eagle" .....my sister met him in New Zealand when he was touring, as a waitress - said he was the "consummate gentleman" ! 😃.......ps LOVE THAT GUITAR !! 🎸🎸🎸
Worked at March AFB many years ago with a guy named Steve Miller. Even somewhat resembled him. Always thought this song should have been a bit longer for say another verse or 2. The basic melody of the song would carried it no matter how many verses. Sad hearing we lost Norton Buffalo....Rest In Peace. Still, this is a fantastic version! Love that keyboard solo !
Longtime bandmate Norton Buffalo "playing Maraca Shakers" died 4 months after this show. Found out he had cancer in Sept. 2009 and died 6 weeks later. RIP Norton Buffalo.
Holy shit! I didn't know that. I have been following Steve Miller Band all my life, since i was 6 years old in 1974, i know Norton Buffalo was always with him. God Bless him.
SUCH CREATIVE AND AWESOME LYRICS LET ALONE WITH AN AWESOME BEAT...THE WORDS AND MUSIC MOST DEFINITELY GO TOGETHER LIKE IT WAS MEANT TO BE...LIKE ELVIN BISHOPS FOOLED AROUND AND FELL IN LOVE
Hey! Waaait a minute. This is an edited performance of at least 2 shows. Check Steve's guitar. One minute it is a dark rosewood(?) fretboard, the next it's a maple lighter fretboard... 00:2501:2301:5802:0902:2303:0403:16
The Steve Miller Band is an American rock band formed in 1967 in San Francisco, California. The band is managed by Steve Miller on guitar and lead vocals, and is known for a string of (mainly) mid-1970s hit singles that are staples of the classic rock radio format.🎷🎸🥁🎶❤️

Even the backup vocals are excellent. That part when they say ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah’ each in a different pitch is really well done.
👍🏻
That part really jumped out at me, very well done!
@dougpeters1625 the 2 parts of this song where they the "5 claps" I always do that whenever I hear this song. Once, when I was driving, I heard this song, and I took my hands off the steering wheel of my car to do the 5 claps and I actually drove into a ditch.
Take The Money & Run is one of my favorite songs from Steve Miller Band.

This song has a 3 chord riff and still sounds more intricate than most of todays music.
Simplicity is the mother of genius.

Minus the fatness. 😎
He’s been able to still do his songs faithfully because he’s been laid back and hasn’t abused his voice. Looks great for his age!
That is by far the best live act I’ve ever seen
Absolutely fantastic

Just a stellar performance by all, and the best thing about this tune is the happy ending.
Super tight rendition - love this song, these guys are legends
Is it me or is Steve Miller one of the most underrated guitarists ever?
Every time i hear this song while driving, i must do the 5 claps while taking my hands off the steering wheel
@@bigsky3072 Dude that's dangerous but worth it

There's something really laid back about this compared to the original. Even the rhythms they're singing. Cool to hear the difference.

Steve Miller was my 1st concert. At 14 years old. 2 $ ticket. Vanderbilt's Memorial Gymnasium, 1969. I was dumb stricken.
Bill Peterson is an incredible bass player
I'm from Australia, play in bands and this is way before my era but I have never heard anyone play it like that.
I have a lot to learn.

Ozzy Pete it sure is two different guitars, I didn’t notice.
@bobbycratchit look closer. The lighter fretboard guitar has a solid leather strap. The darker fretboard guitar has a sort of braided leather strap.
