How to fix the ignition system on your John Deere AMT 600 (CDI upgrade)

I wanted to show that it's possible to upgrade the ignition system on your old AMT 600 John Deere gator. This wasn't my idea. I got the idea from @Royce Ardery. Many thanks Royce!! It cost me $17 off Ebay, and was simple to wire up. Just another way we can keep some of these old units running!

I have a kf82 d-x, so it doesn't have a stator coil but uses 2 linear coils of which one for the ignition spark and one for the battery charging
It does have a small pick up coil too
My question is does anyone know which type of cdi unit I can adapt, should I use an ac cdi unit or an ac cdi unit
The coil for the battery charge goes to a small rectifyer diode bridge so both ac and dc are available
I'm also trying to find out what is the belt size on the commuter te 390, is it a C 41 belt?

I feel like they had spring rollers that automatically kept tension on it. Im not certain since this job already left. That was the first and only one I’ve worked on.

That link is out of stock. This is a different supplier but looks like the one I used. Its a DC volt 4 pin. cdi box with coil.

Yes. There was an extra un-used switched 12v on the key switch I bolted too.
