1) Yurie is indeed the best wingwoman! 2) Kiyoka is certainly best hubby material! I love how he isn't over the top in showing his affection. And that tsundere moment where he subtly pouts for Miyo not inviting him to the outing despite him CLEARLY showing interest in taking her out is just oh sooo CUUUTTEE!! He is such a cutie pie hottie! 3) Kaya is a real HARPY! 4) Kouji has no backbone and his dad is a creepy stalker!
It looked in the flashback like her mom was trying to get her tested properly for her potential abilities and the dad wouldn't have it "we already know she doesn't have any". More clues that she probably has abilities and just doesn't know it, and Dad didn't want her to know.
I have a few theories: 1. Miyo is a late bloomer in terms of magic. 2. Her mom must've sealed Miyo's powers when she was younger with conditions that her body needs to meet before they can be automatically unlocked and used... like perhaps she needs to be of a certain age first before her powers will truly manifest. 3. Her recent frequent dreams might be a manifestation of her latent abilities. 4. I think her mom must've secretly implanted a message for Miyo in the form of those dreams. Ones that will only reveal itself when certain conditions are met. What do you think?
The Anime didn't follow the book - in the scene were Kyoka is asking for an apology for Miyo from her father the evil step would kneel in the corner - like tradional japanese costom - but in the anime they made her sit next to her husband. That is a westernly, butterly way a arch-conservative man never would allowed.
Kaya is actually starting to make me think of Detlinde in Ascendance of a Bookworm. She's a self centered arrogant fool, but we're starting to see signs that she was trained to be that way and is probably just as much of a victim of that family, destined to be used as a tool.
Hmmm.. i dunno.. i think perhaps detline got her twisted personality as a result of the combination of a lack of affection from her parents and having relagated to become a place holder for the real successor that is her younger niece turned adopted sister. Whereas Kaya became the way she is from being spoiled rotten by her parents and copying the way her parents treat Miyo. You could say that she had basically been raised to bully Miyo in any manner whatsoever, and see Miyo as someone who is beneath her. Bottomline however is that they're both very hateful... HARPIES! 😂
Kaya's current personaliy and way of treating is 100% a result of her mother's venomous treatment of Miyo all throughout her childhood. Kaya's mom treated Miyo like shit the moment she married Miyo's dad, and he did nothing to stop her or protect her, and even joined in somewhat. Hopefully, Kaya eventually learns that her actions have been unjustified and terrible eventually, but I'm not sure it'll happen.
When Yurie left Miyo alone I was like nooooooooooo Also one thing is that the paper bird familiars didn’t actually manage to see that Miyo was doing well with Kiyoka, it was Kaya that reported it to Minoru
Tbh, I hope they don’t make it seem like Miyo has powers. It would cheapen who she is by putting the attention on her power and not her. Or rather putting importance/significance to her merely because she now has a power. She’s perfect the way she is for Kudo. I’m happy with her just carrying the gene for a magical offspring. 🤷🏻♀️
WHAAAAAAAAAAA!! MAGPIE IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE WHO ISN'T FERDINAND! Are you cheating on him! Kiyoka doesn't even have golden eyes like Noah does! Though he does have that cold but handsome exterior. . . Jokes aside, Kiyoka is an absolute chad for showing up to Miyo's crappy family and telling them they must apologize to Miyo to get his money. He's also just best boy for doing exactly what is necessary to slowly start healing Miyo's heart. He held her tight and is never letting go, slowly allowing her to rely on him and open up her shell.
This is what happens when all I get from AOAB are Ferdinand crumbs. CRUMBS, I tell you!!! I want Ferdinand to return to be around and be awesome in the LNs!!!!

My theory Is that She uses her ability to make other people treat her badly without realising it

The directing of the show is great. It is so faithful to the original work. I’m very impressed.

Yurie is awesome. She made Kaya pretty flustered. :-)
