Rebel fans should be excited. Coach Kiffin has been steadily improving and working on things in Oxford. They’ve improved the staff and brought in a bunch of talent. Plus you just gotta love his offensive schemes ;)

Josh you are RIGHT on the money about the fan base tracker here. I am a DIE HARD Ole Miss fan, i eat, breathe, sleep Ole Miss and this off season is going to feel like an absolute eternity, I wake up everyday thinking about this season. The game that will tell if we're going to make that next step and for Dart's Heisman chances will be at LSU. We havent won there since 08 and you better believe with ESPN having the contract a top 10 Ole Miss LSU matchup will be at night against our oldest rival.
I cannot state enough how badly I want an Ole Miss football championship and this may be the best shot I ever get at seeing one. Mark my words if we do get it this year you'll see me sobbing in the stands. No one thought TCU and few thought Washington would get to the title game, why not us? In the words of Josh "any given Saturday." HOTTYTODDY!!!!!

Don't assume a night game on ESPN. Texas plays Oklahoma that week. They aren't going to put those 2 games against each other.

@@davidgibson8484 Texas OU has normally been the first day game of the day because of that fair, it was the 11 AM game this past season on ABC and LSU at night if both teams are undefeated will get the night game.

I would call the mood "All in."
Ole Miss fan base feels like 10-2 is the floor. 28+ players on last year of eligibility and other players likely to go pro means we will not be in the same situation next year.
It's not one portal class either. It's 2 1/2. When you look at both the offense and defense, 18-20 starters are likely to be players that transferred in over the last 3 years as well as many key backups.

This is not a "target one year" plan for Lane Kiffin and supporting cast. This is a program that has been building systematically year by year. Why should anyone assume 2024 is the year after which Ole Miss will slide back into mediocrity. The answer to the question "If not now, when?" is that 2025 should be better than 2024, and 2026 should be better than 2025. The goal is to compete with the top teams on an annual basis which is the same goal that got Kirby Smart and Georgia where they are today. There is no reason to aim for anything less.

This isn’t a one and done. We have plenty of young talent. We might take a step back next year just because we’re losing allot of players but we’re still going to be good.
We won 10 games in 2021 with just a one man show and I’m assuming when you say, “there’s still doubt” that you’re talking about the media because the fans have no doubt. We know what we have. Hotty Toddy!

Losing Bama off their schedule is huge. That could be the difference in 9-3 or 10-2. 10-2 with both losses probably being close.

I'm sure kiffen is giving his all this year. After all, it's his last year applying for the florida job. Two horrible entities about to collide. Ole miss get ready for the classic kiffin middle finger with no emotion for nothing but himself... the only thing he truly loves

You are living in 2010. Do you realize this is Kiffin's FIFTH year in Oxford? NOBODY thought he would stay that long, including me. Is it crazy to think perhaps Kiffin has found a place he likes, that suits his coaching style and his lifestyle? And this "no emotion for nothing but himself," keep in mind this is a profession, not a love affair. Do you want to advance in life? Do you want to make more money and make a larger impact? Will you stay at your current job if you achieve great things and a better opportunity comes along? And on that note, there aren't that many jobs better than OM at this time. Sure, he might achieve more at LSU, USC, Florida, FSU, Michigan, etc., but perhaps not, and nothing indicates jobs at those places will come open at exactly the right time. Give Kiffin a break. He's been great for Ole Miss.

This is year 5 of hearing that. Lane is locked in. The minute he turned Auburn down, we saw a new Lane. He sold his house in Florida and he’s been on a rampage ever since. You’ll have to learn to accept, Lane’s home unless the NFL comes calling…..and they will.

    • @jakemitchell1671

@@jjody4267 I agree with this. Very, very few coaches stay at any one destination for long, and the reasons for their leaving are many. Lane is making top-10 money at "little old Ole Miss," has already made history, and is positioned for possibly great things in '24. BY FAR the biggest threat to Lane staying in Oxford is the NFL. The man has been as outspoken as anyone about his dislike for the NIL/Transfer Portal situation. College head coaching has always been a mixed bag, but now it's absolutely untenable. I cannot imagine the stress it causes the coaching staffs. Not only is recruiting a 365-day-per-year activity, but now player retention is too. Lane will stay in Oxford until the right NFL gig opens up. At least that's my opinion. Who knows? (I mean the women in Oxford are among the most beautiful in the WORLD, lol)

@@jakemitchell1671 😂 I feel sorry for our coaches all the time. They should earn the money they do. That went from a seasonal position to a 365 day a year job.
It’s my opinion that Lane found his home (barring the NFL.) His parents, sister and daughter are all there and I don’t imagine at 80, Monte is going to want to keep moving. Landry has 3 more years there and let’s face it, not every school is suited for Lane and his personality while we celebrate it. I can’t imagine going from Lane to a boring coach again. We have gotten very spoiled.
