    Nice video, my favourite lure is the spanyid raider and then a samaki flash lure. Because I do a lot of fishing off the rocks I find the sea missile loses its coating too easily, but it's a great lure for the beach. I have been trying jig style lures, cast and twitch retrieve and they seem to work ok. Looking forward to your next video's.

    • @AlluringFishing
      @AlluringFishing  4 роки тому

      Yes, the biggest flaw of the sea missile is the poor quality, but at the price and at the rate it catches fish its worth it. The norstream has a better finish but is hard to find. The spanyid is very durable and it would be great ir they made a true 40g. Maybe we should see if there's a 50g that weights 40g....

    Great informative session, mate! I noticed you just use standard single hooks, instead of in-line hooks, to replace the treble. I wonder, does it make any difference in terms of hook-up?

    Hello, really enjoying your videos.
    Had a question about leader length. Do you run a long leader that winds on to your reel for casting or do you run a shorter leader that doesn’t run the knot through the guides?

    • @fishermcgaven3170
      @fishermcgaven3170 4 роки тому

      Keep the leader knot in-between the first and second guide and you'll be sweet

    • @AlluringFishing
      @AlluringFishing  4 роки тому

      Hi. I use a leader length of just less than a rod length and I don't usually wind the knot through the guides, however if you use an FG knot you can wind the knot through the guides. I dont think you need more than about 1.5 m of leader. Mono leader also gives more stretch so a good clear leader like black magic will work well.

    Hey mate, a lot of people asking about the iron candy glow not being in stock, so if you couldnt use the iron candy glow (but you could use other iron candy colours and all other lure brands) what would be your top 2 or 3 lures for sunrise and sunset? thanks mate! really good videos. one question, do you poppers for tailor?

    • @AlluringFishing
      @AlluringFishing  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the feedback. I don't personally use poppers for tailor purely because it's too much work. In the lake and in the channel, poppers would work fine, but you can cast a metal much further than a popper of similar weight, due to the aerodynamic shape of the metal vs the popper. On the beach you need to get past the breakers, which is hard to do with a popper. I find that a good alternative to a popper is the GT Ice Cream, which casts like a bullet and works like a popper with a normal retrieval, making it much less tiring to use. I will do a video soon with the GT Ice Cream in action. I do have some videos where I cover the GT Ice Cream

    • @AlluringFishing
      @AlluringFishing  4 роки тому

      No not really...I have just bought a lot of lures over the years and spent a lot of time trying different things but as you say, Top 3 would be savage gear for sunny conditons, GT Ice cream for calm conditons and iron candy glow for low light conditions. @@murrayspeakman5781 tailor usually hunt in packs and they move around chasing baitfish, so structure isn't such a big issue. They patrol the beach at the back of the breakers moving up and down the beach as the food moves...they hide/hunt in the whitewater, on sunny days you can see them in the breakers....so don't worry too much about structure on the beach, rather look for the baitfish (birds) and the rips (food)....

    Would you be so kind to show us your retrieval pace? I tried all these lures with no success and went back to gang hooks with pilchards and they were on. I am doing something wrong.

    • @AlluringFishing
      @AlluringFishing  5 років тому +2

      Hi Paul. Thanks for asking. It's a good question. If they are taking the pillies they will smash the lures too. What you can try is to let the lure sink to the bottom before starting the retrieve, then wind fast to get the lure to the surface, wind at a steady pace and then stop. Letting it sink back down. Repeat. This will ensure that you cover the whole water column. Often the fish will hit the lure as soon as it comes off the bottom. Sometimes they hit it on the surface.... depends where they are feeding.

    • @paulvictor9368
      @paulvictor9368 5 років тому

      Alluring Fishing thanks for that. I think I might be luring it too slow. I’ll keep at it.

    • @AlluringFishing
      @AlluringFishing  5 років тому +1

      @@paulvictor9368 another thing you can do if there are reasonable size waves, see if you can spot the lure in the wave. Tailor love to attack stuff in the white water behind the waves and they can often be seen chasing the lures if the sun is highlighting the silouette of the fish. I've often spotted fish chasing the lure in the wave and adjusted my speed to suit till they catch it....
