She needs to question why Jess told her these things. What motive does Jess have to create this wedge in their marriage? Does OP ever have a history of lying? I get that she's lonely and vulnerable in her new town but this is nuts.
Because not everyone is aware of the capabilities of technology to fake stuff these days. So when someone shows any sort of documentation, they’re prone to believe it. But seriously, it’s Photoshop and AI. All the materials Jess needed are already provided on their social media. From her moving to their city, finding and inviting his wife, and even images of what OP looks like after their breakup, we’re all provided by the photos they admittedly had posted online.
She is just that desperate for friends for some reason. She needed therapy years ago. I think this marriage is close to it’s end and it will be all Olivia’s fault for letting Jess spit poison into her and OP’s relationship
I'm concerned that both OP and his wife have not considered that stuff they've posted on their social media, is the source that Jess is drawing from. OP mentioned that they have photos from their wedding up there, showing that OP and his wife were together. That's probably how she found them to target his wife. That's also probably where she got more recent images of OP, to use in her composites. Hopefully someone a bit more savvy has shown up in the original thread to point this stuff out to the OP.
FAKE STORY There are A LOT of things that the OP COULD DO, but not only doesn't he, but he never seems to address any of them. This is just a very well thought out fake story for dramatic intrigue. It's just like a TV show or movie where ALL OF US can easily see what is happening and what should be done but yet, the two main characters, can't seem to be able to "pull it together" in order to fix a very easy and fixable situation. The OP SHOULD HAVE NEVER allowed Jess in their lives. The OP SHOULD HAVE laid the law down on his wife in regards to ANY additional contact with Jess as they let their guard down. The OP SHOULD HAVE submitted the photos to an expert to look at. The OP SHOULD HAVE gone for a Restraining Order against Jess the moment she sent those photos. The OP SHOULD HAVE pointed out to his wife that he doesn't own ANY of the clothes that the person in the pics is wearing. Now, the OP really has no choice as his wife "chose a side" and no matter what, the "trust" from both OP and his wife is now in doubt. Without real trust, the marriage is doomed. Good thing this is an obvious fake story.

Jess is playing the long game here. She wants them broken up. Had Olivia slipped up and flirted back with either of those guys, Jess would appear as the concerned friend who knows Olivia has a secret. Since that didn't land, Jess put her graphic artist skills to use and planted just one teeny tiny seed in Olivia's mind. And Olivia being the "Sweet Summer Child" she is, bought it. Given enough time, Jess can probably get her to wonder "What other secrets is OP holding back?" Unless Jess slips up, this marriage could be a wrap.

But when we first started dating in college, an EX GF, tried to break us up by starting drama. My wife (GF at the time) shut down the EX GF hard. I was not their but my roommate was. What my wife said was, "I don't need any advice from you. I'll learn about him on my own." Then she simply turned her back on my EX GF and walked away. After that day I never saw my EX GF again, even though everyone was in the same dorm.

Between her habit of stomping all over people’s boundaries and being a manipulative snake I can guess why Jess’ marriage didn’t last. As of now Olivia is being plain stupid in believing Jess over her husband, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out Jess is a snake. Funny how in the short amount of time that Jess found out Olivia and OP were married all this drama started to happen. If Jess trying to take advantage of her inebriated state to get her to cheat on OP doesn’t convince Olivia that Jess is bad news then nothing will, she’s actually willing to give up her marriage over a friend she’s knows for only six months. Okay, so the update was really messy. But as someone who studied in graphic design, it leads me to instantly believe that Jess is really good with Photoshop and did a great job with putting OP in the photo of her during that timeframe. OP should get some help to debunk the allegations and get Jess in court for damaging his reputation with his wife.
You don't even need to be good with editing photos any more. You can fire up an online AI and feed it two photos and tell it to replace guy in picture 1 with guy in picture 2, done. There are articles, in the Wall Street Journal, about high school kids doting this to shame girls. They are using AI to remove the clothes of a girl in a picture, even altering the background, then posting the picture. If high school kids are doing this, I'm sure adults can do it as well.
@@shayziekaizie , It is illegal, as it falls under the cyber bully laws, but they don't carry the weight that they should. They are also covered under the slander laws, but that is civil court and not everyone can afford to fight a civil case. The Wall Street Journal article did a good job about how, even if the pictures are taken down the social damage is still done. The article also went over how the laws are week in addressing this.

Metadata can be manipulated. Photoshop paired with AI can make incredibly convincing photos. Olivia needs to decide if she believes a person who tried to pressure her into doing something she wasn't comfortable with or the husband who has offered multiple ways to prove his side of things. I got a bad feeling the marriage might not make it.

Op, Jess wasn’t surprised at the bar because she “didn’t know” Olivia was your wife. She was surprised because Olivia called you and her plan was unraveling. If I were you. Story 1: Who else thought that Jess is a graphic designer with her own business and she's showing digital images that OP knows are false? There's no question now that Jess is trying to undermine OP's marriage and is doing a very effective job of it. OP needs to get someone who's got digital forensic skills to analyze that image and prove that they've been altered. It appears to be a very sick game that Jess is playing - maybe it started out as a coincidence but it isn't any more. I hope that OP gets the proof he needs and changes his wife's mind. OP should message Jess's ex and get his side of the story. If Jess was obsessive after the breakup and seems to have stalked OP after her own divorce then maybe he knows something. Also, he may have similar stories about the shit Jess has pulled.
Op initially had two issues and tried to solve the wrong one first. Olivia was isolated and didn't have friends, thus making her wine and painting group that much more important to her. Once OP uncovered the information that Jess was a part of that group, he should have tried to _help Olivia find new friends_ so that she didn’t feel like Jess' group was her only social option outside of work. Once she had new friends, him asking her to give up Jess wouldn't leave her feeling so isolated and possibly more willing to comply. Once he chose the path of trying to separate her from her only friends, she dug in her heels. Once Jess began telling lies and deepfaking pictures, things had gotten too far regarding Olivia thinking that Jess was actually her friend.

This story is going to end in one of two ways. I really need to find out what happens next with story 1, the Ex is insane! I think its probably a coincidence that Jess and Olivia met each other, but everything past that is by design. My guess as to why Jess is doing this is either because she's still in love/obsessed with OP and thinks getting rid of Olivia will have them get back together again (Wouldn't be surprised if her first marriage ended because she still had feelings for OP). Someone told me it's simple to get rid of editing data by not sending the edited photo but a copy of the already edited photo that's data won't show any editing because it's a new pic file that hasn't been edited.
I HAD to see if there was another update and I found a mini one. Some friend have confirmed that OP WAS at the place Jess claimed he was during the that trip...but not with HER. One of his friend who was actually at the music concert with him shared a photo and he was wearing a totally different shirt. His mom confirm that the picture from the gym is from the YMCA that his parents go to and he had used their guest passes. So it looks like Jess got the photos from Facebook somehow and maniuplated them to look like they were together. She must have been planning this for some time before it takes time to convincingly edit a photo like that, even for a professional.
So first Jess 'just so happens' to befriend OP's wife? Then she tries to make her cheat on OP, then when that didn't work she creates obviously faked photos and tries to convince her that OP lied? Like she tried to convince you to cheat and then shows up photos? Photoshop is a 3 decade old system and undoubtedly better programs exist, there are multiple ways to check if it's been photoshopped, from comparing 'his' stance with pictures from around the same time, to checking the compression errors, and many more things. She is also a graphic design company, depending on the field, her job is to make SURE nobody can tell it's been photoshopped.

I don't know how old story 1 is, but if it's recent then Jess, as a professional graphics designer, would have access to high end AI photo generating software. This software is already being used to create very realistic/convincing revenge porn. How OP can get proof that the photo's are AI generated I don't know, but he should look into that. It does seem highly likely Jess is trying to sabotage OP and his marriage though. Best of luck to him!
Jess is a snake and i'm not feeling much sympathy for Olivia either. She was told how much trouble Jess is, and still chooses to believe her over him. Jess got divorced and probably looked up her ex to see what he was up to, if she hadn’t been keeping tabs on him all along. She decided that she wanted him back. When Jess realized he was married though, she came up with this plan to break them up. Jess is an artist and could easily fake photos. She more than likely also got a lot of information out of Olivia regarding her marriage, how they met, when they became a couple, etc. once the group started hanging out. It is far too coincidental that Jess made the group and specifically invited Olivia. Her plan to make Olivia look like she was cheating fell through. I bet she planned to get her drunk, get some pics of Olivia dancing or talking with a guy and edit them to look suspicious and then send them to OP. When Olivia called him though, that fell through. It baffles me how some women don't have a sense of self-preservation. I can never be friends with my husband's ex. I can be cordial but I can never socialise with them and I have no reason to. Okay, so the update was really messy. But as someone who studied in graphic design, it leads me to instantly believe that Jess is really good with Photoshop and did a great job with putting OP in the photo of her during that timeframe. OP should get some help to debunk the allegations and get Jess in court for damaging his reputation with his wife.
You don't even need to be good with editing photos any more. You can fire up an online AI and feed it two photos and tell it to replace guy in picture 1 with guy in picture 2, done.
There are articles, in the Wall Street Journal, about high school kids doting this to shame girls. They are using AI to remove the clothes of a girl in a picture, even altering the background, then posting the picture. If high school kids are doing this, I'm sure adults can do it as well.

The Wall Street Journal article did a good job about how, even if the pictures are taken down the social damage is still done. The article also went over how the laws are week in addressing this.

Metadata can be manipulated. Photoshop paired with AI can make incredibly convincing photos. Story 1: Who else thought that Jess is a graphic designer with her own business and she's showing digital images that OP knows are false? There's no question now that Jess is trying to undermine OP's marriage and is doing a very effective job of it. OP needs to get someone who's got digital forensic skills to analyze that image and prove that they've been altered.
It appears to be a very sick game that Jess is playing - maybe it started out as a coincidence but it isn't any more. I hope that OP gets the proof he needs and changes his wife's mind. Op initially had two issues and tried to solve the wrong one first. Olivia was isolated and didn't have friends, thus making her wine and painting group that much more important to her. Once OP uncovered the information that Jess was a part of that group, he should have tried to _help Olivia find new friends_ so that she didn’t feel like Jess' group was her only social option outside of work. Once she had new friends, him asking her to give up Jess wouldn't leave her feeling so isolated and possibly more willing to comply.
Once he chose the path of trying to separate her from her only friends, she dug in her heels.
Once Jess began telling lies and deepfaking pictures, things had gotten too far regarding Olivia thinking that Jess was actually her friend.

Someone told me it's simple to get rid of editing data by not sending the edited photo but a copy of the already edited photo that's data won't show any editing because it's a new pic file that hasn't been edited.

I HAD to see if there was another update and I found a mini one. Some friend have confirmed that OP WAS at the place Jess claimed he was during the that trip...but not with HER. One of his friend who was actually at the music concert with him shared a photo and he was wearing a totally different shirt. His mom confirm that the picture from the gym is from the YMCA that his parents go to and he had used their guest passes.
So it looks like Jess got the photos from Facebook somehow and maniuplated them to look like they were together. She must have been planning this for some time before it takes time to convincingly edit a photo like that, even for a professional.
So first Jess 'just so happens' to befriend OP's wife? Then she tries to make her cheat on OP, then when that didn't work she creates obviously faked photos and tries to convince her that OP lied? Like she tried to convince you to cheat and then shows up photos?
Photoshop is a 3 decade old system and undoubtedly better programs exist, there are multiple ways to check if it's been photoshopped, from comparing 'his' stance with pictures from around the same time, to checking the compression errors, and many more things. She is also a graphic design company, depending on the field, her job is to make SURE nobody can tell it's been photoshopped.

I will never get spouses who believe complete strangers over their significant others of 10+ years who have given them no reason to doubt or suspect cheating. That to me is a deal breaker in itself. If you’re willing to trust some rando you met a few days ago over me when I have been nothing but loyal and loving to you, then enjoy being single. I’m gone.

Story 1: (NTA) Well this is a new one. If you're not friends with your ex, your partner shouldn't be friends with your ex. This is a boundary issue. It sounds like the ex isn't over the OP and is either sneaking back into his world to get back with him or ruin his life. The ex sounds like a selfish person even back when she was with the OP. Why demand that a "friend" cheat on her husband? That's a toxic friend group. Jess Knew that Olivia was married, that's enough malice for me. OP can't force Olivia to not be friends with someone, at the end of the day she'll have to pick her friends or the OP. An additional theory, did Olivia keep her marital status on the down low? Oh, another woman in the group knew the OP, maybe she told Jess. Jess is a controlling toxic mess, I wonder why her marriage failed.
Update: So the OP and Jess talk it out but Jess is still treating the situation the way an 8-year-old would. "Jess seems like a changed person" so she changed her morals in a week? So wine and paint nights continued. Wait... PHOTOSHOP! Jess is a toxic b**ch, stirring the pot and ruining the marriage. Google maps tracker? Get the photos tested for Photoshop. I'm certain that when getting Olivia drunk to sleep with a stranger didn't work she used her photoshop skills to make the OP look like a cheater.

Isnt the first story from the episode (season 1 ep. 16, Not Particularly Desperate Housewives) of American Dad! where Francine wants to fit in with the Ladybugs and to fit in, she has to cheat on Stan? Cause i think we just got the Stan's perspective if he was the Stan of the human universe, not cartoon 😆 but if this is real then Jess planned all of this, systematically plotted and stalked OP and now all he can do is wait for Jess to slip up and/or hope his wife truly trusts him
Jess knows who Olivia is. My gut says this is a long con, and she set out to destroy your marriage in retaliation for dumping her insane butt years prior and rebuffing her attempts to reconcile for a year.
Even on the off chance she didn’t know who Olivia was, she actively tried to get a married woman to cheat on her husband. That is not the behaviour of a person with a moral compass.
After the update. Yep. Revenge is best served cold from Jess. She’s planned this out to the last detail. Doesn’t Olivia understand Jess is an art major and has a graphic design company. She’d be able to make photoshop sing and dance and jump through hoops. She could create photos of you walking on the moon that Neil Armstrong wouldn’t be able to refute.

STORY 1: Oilivia is dumbass & is willfully being blind to Jesse's sus behavior due to her desperation to have friends. Unfortunately, I see divorce in OP's future. Also, I don't understand why OP would let his guard down on Jesse when he knows her true character. Now he's acting all confused about why she's doing what she's doing, smh. OP needs to stop tip toeing around Olivia & call her out for her naivety & willful blindness
I don't know how old story 1 is, but if it's recent then Jess, as a professional graphics designer, would have access to high end AI photo generating software. This software is already being used to create very realistic/convincing revenge porn. How OP can get proof that the photo's are AI generated I don't know, but he should look into that. It does seem highly likely Jess is trying to sabotage OP and his marriage though. Best of luck to him!

Jess is a snake and i'm not feeling much sympathy for Olivia either. She was told how much trouble Jess is, and still chooses to believe her over him. She even knows Jess has a knack for art, and still won't entertain the idea that those photos are doctored. I'll be interested in any further updates on this one

Jess absolutely targeted Olivia! She knew she was OP’s wife. Olivia is gullible! Also Olivia can’t read a book or watch a movie while the husband plays the game with his friends for a couple hours?! She needs to find more friends like her. The neighbor “friend” is involved as well!

OP's wife (Olivia) saying that he "should not judge her" (Jess) 'based on one night when she was drunk" doesn't make any sense Jess is OP's ex fiance who he knew for years but Olivia is acting like she knows Jess better than he does.
Gonna need another follow up on this one… if it ever gets posted online. Considering how things appear I wouldn’t blame OP is he quit social media altogether after all this.

Jess got divorced and probably looked up her ex to see what he was up to, if she hadn’t been keeping tabs on him all along. She decided that she wanted him back. When Jess realized he was married though, she came up with this plan to break them up. Jess is an artist and could easily fake photos. She more than likely also got a lot of information out of Olivia regarding her marriage, how they met, when they became a couple, etc. once the group started hanging out. It is far too coincidental that Jess made the group and specifically invited Olivia. Her plan to make Olivia look like she was cheating fell through. I bet she planned to get her drunk, get some pics of Olivia dancing or talking with a guy and edit them to look suspicious and then send them to OP. When Olivia called him though, that fell through. So the new plan was to make Olivia no longer trust her husband. I bet the next step is that Jess “apologizes” to Olivia for having an affair with her husband. I wouldn’t put it past Jess to set up a scenario where she throws herself on OP right when Olivia is walking in the door or something. Jess sounds nuts. I think that I would hire a PI to follow Jess or even video myself at all times just to protect myself or catch Jess in a lie if she claims they were together. And if OP can save his marriage from Jess’s lies, he should probably get a new job and move Olivia away from these people. Take Olivia somewhere where she has friends or family so she isn’t lonely

It baffles me how some women don't have a sense of self-preservation. I can never be friends with my husband's ex. I can be cordial but I can never socialise with them and I have no reason to. If kids are involved, I would get it but in circumstances like this one...no. Olivia has just ruined her marriage by opening that door.
