    jhon smith represents the First love.the kind of love where we thought would make us happy,the kind of love where we know itsokay to leave and sacrifice everything as long as we are happy.the kindof lobe where we are already hurting the poeple around ua but we dont care as long as we have each other.the kind of love that will make you insane once you are broken.Jhon Rolfe represent the TRUE LOVE wherewe can feel safe,at home. the kind of love that will love and chose you unconditionally.the kind of love that make us realize whats our worth.

      Yeah, hence why Rolfe took the entire f*cking movie to stop trying to get Pocahontas to be someone she isn’t to fit his definition of a beautiful woman. I’m not kidding, the part she’s in the dress and Rolfe says how beautiful she is irritated me so much BECAUSE he fell in love with her as an English lady INSTEAD of a Native American like John Smith did. Plus Rolfe was hesitant to defy the king’s orders after he imprisoned Pocahontas, while Smith was the one crazy enough to break into a maximum security prison BY HIMSELF just to rescue her!
      Also, are you forgetting John Smith literally jumped in front of a damn bullet to protect her father from being murdered by his racist and hateful boss? He was willing to die right there just to keep her people protected! And in the end, he even tried insisting he wanted to stay with Pocahontas, knowing he’d die and unfortunately his wound wouldn’t get better! All he wanted was to be with her and didn’t give a crap about his own life or dreams anymore, because she was his dream and new desire!
      Imo, Rolfe’s choice to leave his aristocratic life in London just to go with Pocahontas felt like it completely came out of nowhere. He had absolutely no interest in the New World or her people to begin with, and only went to collect her father for the peace treaty. He had absolutely no intention to go back, his life was in London and he seemed to love the job he already had (they literally talk about his big promotion he always wanted apparently, despite they literally don’t actually take the time to get to know each other) But all of a sudden he doesn’t care about the cushy life he’s so used to and wants Pocahontas more than anything?? I’m sorry, but I literally cannot see Rolfe being able to adapt to a drastically different lifestyle, let alone embracing her culture and traditions, and he wouldn’t miss the more refined life and parties and everything he’s so used to.
      Pocahontas and John Smith were one of the best couples Disney ever made, and they’d be more appreciated if they had different names

      @kristinahuchison2511 11 місяців тому

      @@Pumpkinpielover1mature?? Honey, Rolfe took the entire f*cking movie to stop trying to get Pocahontas to be someone she isn’t. He doesn’t even try to get to know her as a person or is interested in her culture. Smith literally is the one who wanted to learn about her culture, learned a bit of her language and ultimately fell in love with her as a person, he didn’t know for most of the movie she was a chief’s daughter. He saw her as a beautiful woman who had a lot of common interests! Heck, there’s even a deleted scene where Smith tries to explain to her how women from his world act and dress. She makes a makeshift dress, and he immediately realizes how ridiculous she looks trying to be someone she isn’t just to impress him! He literally tells her how beautiful she is as her true self and loves how she isn’t anything he normally thinks of as a woman! He doesn’t even treat her capabilities differently just because she’s a woman, he sees her as a powerful person who doesn’t need a man saving her! Rolfe is the butthole who literally complains about her gender and almost flat out refused to take her instead because “women don’t belong in politics” and literally tries getting her to behave more like what is expected of a proper English lady to impress his high society friends and king. The most infuriating part of the movie is literally when he tells her how beautiful she is in the dress. I get he was trying to boost her confidence and pay her a compliment, but he falls in love with her as an ENGLISH LADY instead of a free spirited Native American woman who doesn’t need a man saving her. I despise how the sequel portrayed her as a damsel in distress who needed rescuing, and later on Rolfe and Smith are literally fighting over her and her feelings INSTEAD of asking her opinion. Come on, we really had to do the stupid “love triangle where the pretty girl is a prize instead of a person?!”
      Smith is the one who fell for Pocahontas as she truly was and even almost died protecting her father from a bullet he expected to kill him instantly! And in the end, he even tried insisting he didn’t care if he died, all he wanted was to stay with Pocahontas! He would rather spend his remaining days with her and eventually succumb to his mortal wounds than leave her!!
      Rolfe’s love for Pocahontas felt so forced and it completely came out of nowhere. They’re literally complete opposites in every single way. And their “opposites attract” dynamic doesn’t work how it’s supposed to, where your opposing elements complement each other. No, Rolfe is literally having to change EVERYTHING to be with Pocahontas, from the way he dresses, eats and his forms of entertainment to his own home or even having to learn her culture and embrace her beliefs. Rolfe would’ve struggled a lot trying to adapt to such a massive change in his lifestyle, and I believe he would’ve eventually started to miss the splendors and glory of his old life. Smith literally says in the first movie he doesn’t really consider London his true home, but it becomes pretty obvious as the movie went on he felt like this new world was his true home and wanted to be a part of Pocahontas’s world if her people could learn to accept him and his love for her! He NEVER tries getting her to leave her people for him, he respects her feelings and duties as a future chief of her tribe! Rolfe is the one who kept trying to make Pocahontas fit into his world, and probably even thought she could be happy in London instead if he tried hard enough. Completely ignoring her feelings and desires to be back home
