Man, these videos just cause me to furiously theorize what kind of character and party i want to play. And everytime i think i have an idea a new video is posted and i find some new archetype i want to try.
Great stuff and really great videos.
This class is badass. Thanks for making all the class overviews. It makes it easier for me to understand the mechanics more than just reading about them.
Personally, I'm a little iffy about the basic class, having both limits to rage rounds AND spellslots. It's a little too much resource management and feels a little too 'nova and burn out' for me. In this game, however, between the mythic ability that gives you unlimited raging and the one that gives you 4 extra 1-3 lvl spell slots, this could be really fun. Throw in the one that let's you bypass resistance and immunity to an element and I'm looking at a dragon bloodline going dragon disciple for the Str and AC boost.
Bloodrider 9th level feat:
Blood Bond (Su)
At 9th level, the bloodrider and his feral mount gain a closer bond that allows the bloodrider to augment his mount based on his bloodline. While the bloodrider is bloodraging and on his feral mount, he grants the mount all the immunities and resistances he gains from bloodline powers. Furthermore, whenever the bloodrager is affected by a spell or spell-like ability with the range of personal while on the feral mount, the feral mount also gains the benefit of that spell.
This ability replaces the bloodline feat gained at 9th level.

By the way, a draconic Bloodrager can enter Dragon's Disciple PrC (by pnp rules), and gets more out of its melee features than the Sorcerer does. That's a build video idea right here ;)

@@kostalazovic5135 Per PNP, you'd need lvl 4 to get spontaneous casting of a 1st level spell. I assume it'll be the same in this.
You need to be at least 5th level total to get the 5 ranks in knowledge Arcana required for the class.
@@quint3ssent1a no because it doesnt get ability casting at all from what ive read which kind of sucks in pathfinder kingmaker i would run eldritch scion magus then go into dragon disciple and make a kinda of dragon knight build with it and take 2 levels in paladin for charisma bonus if im min maxing but bloodrager into dragon disciple would work better maybe

For whatever reason, a single level in Bloodrager satisfies the Dragon Disciple's requirement for access to level 1 spells.
I made a 1 Bloodrager/1 Demonslayer/3 Slayer (can be whatever, I was going Str DW Trickster so took Slayer) into 4 Dragon Disciple build - he's been very strong for me.

I'm a bit sad that Lizardfolk are not a playable race in WotR and that Salamander isn't one of the available bloodlines.
I guess an Undead Bloodrider swinging a scythe at everything must do for now! :D
I just got into the game and this is the class I'm running with. Black dragon with the heavy armor subclass. Excited to see how it goes!

Arcane is my favorite one
Arcane with a second bloodline (mythic) draconic is just broken powerful after level 17. A hasted, mirror imaged, and displaced dragon who disrupts spellcasting constantly. It's almost too easy.
Just want to put in a correction about Caster Level for Bloodrager. Their caster level actually begins at level 1, even though they don't get actual spellcasting until level 4. That is to say, a 20th level Bloodrager has a caster level of 20. This is unlike its 4-caster level counterparts the Ranger and Paladin, who only begin accumulating caster levels at level 4 and max out to 16 at level 20.
I don't know if it maxes out at twenty but you can clearly see at level 4 I have a caster level of 1 in the video
@@MortismalGaming Huh, that's odd. I played one in Alpha 2 and it worked as I described. Don't know if Owlcat decided to change this or maybe it's a bug. In PnP this is how it's supposed to work. Guess I'll report it. Great videos as always.
Hell yes! Arcane bloodline is in the game!! My favorite tabletop character can live!!
Surprisingly serpentine bloodline is one of the coolest.
I’m doing a blood rider viking world serpent build
If it's the same as the PnP the level 9 Bloodrider ability will be Blood bond which means when you are raging mounted your mount gets your bloodline resistances and immunity, also while mounted and raging your mount will get effected by any spells or spell like abilities that you use that have a range of personal. In the PnP the Greenrage loses their 6th and 9th level bloodline feat.
It honestly sounds like the base class is as interesting as the rest. Really it's just a matter of what you wanna play. Very balanced.
For future videos, could you possibly do 'suggested or relatively optimal' builds that lead into various mythic paths? E.g. Sorc x levels, 4 levels dragon disciple and leading towards Lich (due to merging spellbooks) ?
I'm planning on doing build videos at some point and I'll probably dive deeper into things like that yeah

Well, at least without the PnP ability to overlap archetypes that don't interfere with one another, otherwise with Primalist there is no reason to ever play Barbarian since it literally has everything that class does and then some.
Lower hit die if I recall correctly but yeah I personally like mixing primalist with spelleater. Trading out the claws from abyssal bloodline for more powers, still going to try out a vital strike abyssal bloodrager with a greatsword and see if enlarge person stacks with the growing bigger bloodline feature
Can you confirm that Bloodragers are only 1st level casters at lvl 4? In the PnP, the class says nothing about a reduced caster level (unlike paladins and the like), so it's typically ruled as full caster level progression, though I could certainly see this as an adjustment for the game.
Specifically, this really impacts what spells are worth taking. They already have to deal with lower DCs simply because they never get higher spell levels, as well as casting probably not being the primary stat. Now with reduced spellcaster level as well, that suggests spells with fixed effects will be the best bang for your buck, though buff and spell attack spells could be worth it as well.

How does the progression of the draconic features interact with the progression from dragon disciple?
I assume it's like eldrich scion in kingmaker, where your draconic features carry over and continue as if you were using the same class.
Spelleater can't seem to spell eat for me... Can someone explain? Like there is no option to eat my spells at the level I'm supposed to get it.
Are the claw attacks in addition to normal attacks?
It worked that way in kingmaker but it depends on what type of natural attack it was

@@lost329 in the call of the wild mod it did so it will probably work that but like I said depends on if the attack is primary or secondary. I'm away from my books and can't remember if claws are secondary attacks.

So what happens with the undead bloodlines increased damage reduction for Spelleaters and Steelbloods? Does it change to increasing their fast healing/armour training, give them DR 8, DR 3, or simply go away and not be applied at all?
Would a steelblood bloodrager into hellknight be viable?

Hi,
I'm a level 12 arcane angel bloodrider...having an issue using arcane bloodrage or greater bloodrage. Both have "0s" for the drop down skills when you try and activate them(resting doesn't chsnge this)so I have v been stuck using basic bloodrage all game. Any idea what's happening?
New to a lot of this, could anyone offer some ideas or guides towards building a bloodrager tank? I like the idea of using the undead bloodline and steelblood archetype.
Do claw attacks work with one handers? if i understood correctly, in kingmaker they don't
They should, demon claw attacks work if you're using one hand
@@MortismalGaming whats the most promising archetype here for bloodrager? I heard that in the pnp the primalist is op. Does that apply to the game? I don't have a shred of clue on barbarian abilities to know why they're worth it lol.
I dont get why Arcane and Sepentine are so much better than the others.
Serpentine in particular can be superfun with Legendary Proportions plus a Fauchard. Just be a giant with the reach of an archer.
I just wish the Serpent Prince fauchard was in Wotr, because it fits both thematically AND mechanically with this.
Combining 2 good classes, but how will it work as a result? Their stats and skills would be actually worse for a single role as if specialized, correct? Will they be any good for melee damage? Casting? How are they supposed to be played?
but this is a good hybrid. it has flavour and is not too good in comparison to other traditional base classes. The other hybrid classes on the other hand.....
Nice vids to build the hype for the launch. I just hope it isn't as buggy as Kingmaker was on launch.
I'm a bit if a newbie to this games weapon mechanics, could anyone be kind enough to recommend a good weapon choice?

Basic traps are the weapons with big crit multiplier (like scythe iirc), otherwise u should aim for either your best weapon (if u got a +1 longsword or a +3 shortsword, take the shortsword) or the weapon with the best crit range (18-20 for melee or 19-20 for bow/crossbow). Btw, unless u play a class who needs to choose a weapon, don't overspecialize unless for a strong rp reason or if you want a specific weapon in the game. Unless that, i guess that really depends on what class you play.
Falcion and Greatsword, are both solid two handers, morning star is the best one handed simple weapon, reach weapons work well with lots of opportunity attacks. Rapier is best for one handed dex builds. Hmm, that's all from the top of my head.
@@lilianscicluna2314 With Ember in the party with the Sleep hex, those high-crit multiplier weapons suddenly have a much more reliable use: Coup de Gras!
As for weapons, high crit range weapons are always nice, though many of them are exotic. Specifically, Kukris are light exotic weapons with high crit range, allowing for two-weapon fighting for maximum crit-fishing. Scimitars are 1-handed martial weapons with high crit range. The Elven Curved Blade is a two-handed exotic weapon (martial for elves) with that crit on a d10 damage die! Although, my personal favorite is the Fauchard, which takes the Elven Curved Blade and adds Reach!
I'm playing through Pathfinder: Kingmaker with Valerie re-speced into a Two-Handed Fighter with a Fauchard and she's an absolute beast! With Improved Criticals, she's critting about 30% of her hits, and it's not uncommon for her to crit 3 times in a round when hasted! All of that on a d10 damage die, plus Strength bonuses, plus two-handed grip bonuses, plus Power Attack, plus fighter bonuses, etc.
