so true its way less bad this patch cycle it has issues but is playable if i wasnt chronically sick and being gangstalked into stress throwing up and having nuclear melties id play more
Your max range indicates the max range of your laser. If you are past it then your laser is not making contact with the rock. Start low and slowly increase your power. Based on distance you can determine the power level you need to hold the level in the rock and that gives you the number you need to increase and decrease power. This is how we mine. Good luck.
@@CaptainFlynn117 I bound my mining laser power level to a slider on my joystick. Gives me full and instant control over the laser intensity, so I can back off when the level jumps on unstable rocks. Much better experience than the mouse wheel.
Just restarting my own SC jounrey and debated recording and uploading myself. Your enthusiasm, pace and sheer enjoyment or the verse is addictive! Only found you this week and happy to say I am subbed and sticking around!
You can earn more by choosing a refining method with a higher yield. I usually go for the high yield, low cost one, which is just very slow. usually around 24 hours. Then I just leave it refining and go for more loads in the mean time. Once I have all my loads refining, I go off and do something else, and return in a cargo ship to pick them all up at once when they are done refining.
I started playing SC back in 2012 (on and off of course). Watch videos on it regularly, and only now have come across your channel. I'm so bored of the patch note breakdowns, how to make 10m/h, and tutorial videos. I just want gameplay. EXACTLY like this. You're just showcasing the game by just playing the different roles and it's such a good take. As a full time prospector and mole miner this was hard to watch but this is great content. I will be subscribing and watching all your videos.
Thank you very much, glad you enjoy it! Yeah I know what you mean, it seems like every SC creator is just doing news, guides, and ship reviews. Nothing wrong with that, but like you said there's hardly anybody just playing the game for fun. It's because the general consensus is that you'll never get views just doing gameplay, but since I never care about views I decided to just create what I'm passionate about, and ironically it seems to be what sets me apart lol
You're the first channel that has me invested in SC. Seems most other channels focus on the combat (which is lacking imo) I like your slice of life style videos of mining and hauling far better!
Close to 1K subs, hell yeah! Tiny hint: never request take-off (open hangar doors) and then repair and refuel your ship. Those doors might close on you before the ground services are done and your ship gets impounded. Those ground control guys don't 'eff around ;) I halfway expected that to happen, in good ol' Flynn style ;D Another entertaining vid, keep 'em coming! Looking forward to the org/multicrew one, sadly could not participate. Well, pretty much a lone wolf anyways.
You should look into venturing into the Aaron Halo! It's a hidden location you can't find on the star-map. You drop out of quantum at certain ranges between locations and you have an entire asteroid belt to play around in. Some regions are dense, some sparse. It's really neat!
as far as peaceful ventures go, cargo hauling is the best reward but the highest risk. When the servers are acting up, a single mistake can set you back hours of play time. Salvaging and mining earn less, but risk less too - if you lose a load you often are only out the time used on that load. They are also a little consistent in their engagement, with cargo hauling part of the challenge is the rapid hurry-up-and-wait transitions.
I like to get about 3 solid work orders done (FERRON Exchange method for higher yield) before taking a trip to the TDDs. With the mole bags and 48 SCU per run, ive been averaging around $225K per load or $600K ish per TDD run. The fun thing about mining is that it involves a bit of exploration, then the mining, refining process, and then going to sell it is similar to space trucking. It has cargo/mining/exploration all wrapped up in 1 loop. It feels very blue collar which i think is alot of fun in a game
it would be cool if you could quantum skip like dip in an out quickly to go far in short sprints for a massive fuel cost whilst being extremely dangerous.
Just stumbled upon your channel a week ago and I‘ve been enjoying all of your uploads! Idk I‘m thinking about getting this game and just seeing how different missions can play out, in such a calm environment idk it just suits me. It’s exactly what I enjoy lol Keep up the good work! You deserve all the love for your content
Hey thanks man, I appreciate it! Really glad you are enjoying them. Yeah the verse is ton of fun, it can be a little janky at times but man I’ve never had an experience quite like it
Space mining i find that i get spun around far to easily and often cant tell where i've been and where i was heading to. Admittedly with planets it's very similar, I wish there was some sort of instrument that would show your relative position to a ground plane or something, or just a way to set a waypoint or something. In this form of space mining when your relatively close to a station it's not so bad but if you head into the halo, there are clusters every direction you point and you can get pretty confused sometimes. Re getting into the halo "Dragons Corner Gaming" did a good and easy to reproduce video explaining how to do it.
what i do is when i get to where i am going to mine i set a route to somewhere and note weather its on my left or right then i pick a heading yesterday on daymar i was @160 heading whenever i need to get my bearing i make sure wherever i set my quantum route to is behind, me and then find 160 and stay on that course , hope that helps
Good stream, You did better than me, as when I tried the helix on a planet BOOM, flyable but really damaged. I got back to the station and repaired 90k. 😁 OTJ learning
I prefer prospector mining on moons but each is fun. I basically atleast crack any rock with 30% or more of one of the tier 1 ores. BTW, if u get someone with a Mole u can meet them in space somewhere and put the mole bags on your prospector and go from 32 to 48 SCU of cargo. Once u put them on the prospector, just store vehicle, go into vehicle loadout manager, unequip something and save, re-equip something and save.. U will now permanently have a 48 SCU prospector (Which is a MASSIVE difference in profit per run)
@@CaptainFlynn117 yeah, lost a ton of money a few hours ago running RMC to some guy hiding in a bush waiting for me to get back into my ship. Happened in a flash 😂
first off, change one of those c3 modules to a focus 3. it will drop laser power slightly but you get a much larger charge window. second getting too close the rock can make it too easy to charge it, making overloads far too easy and more likely to happen. third, ive noticed that a prospector by itself is incapable of breaking rocks with a mass greater than or equal too 20k, regardless of laser power. and finally since a prospector is so small it is always best to pick and chose what you mine. only go for high value materials and refine them exclusively with dinyx solvenation if you want to go pure profit. it is the highest priced refinery option with the longest refinement times but it nets you nearly triple the amount of what you would get for just straight up selling the ore raw. corrmack method is certainly the worst of the options by far but it is the cheapest and quickest if you dont care too much about profit too much.
How do you have such natural head movement? Is it a natural feature with mouse movement? Or do you play on KBM with a headset on? Mainly asking cause I saw the head tilt and that's not normal mouse movement.
Mining? It depends on what you mine, and what you want to buy. Everything is a grind to some degree, currently salvage is probably the best for pure money making, but I go for more enjoyment factor than anything, since there’ll eventually be a wipe anyways

"Best view in the verse"
I will say, the Prospector has a phenomenal view, but for visibility, nothing beats the MISC Reliant series.

honestly, the Helix with double Focus III mods is best for asteroid mining. you can also scan rocks with the mining laser
