I applied Ultra grip and did not use a very good brush, should have used rag. some brush marks are showing. Should I sand or apply another coat with proper roller/cloth??

i have this tricky piece of faux leather im trying to hand paint on with leather paint... nothing is sticking to it even after I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol. I just ordered this ultra grip and hopefully it will work, sounds like it will...
