The material for 3D printing is very important on what you can use for each item. Most 'cheap' filament will break down & warp in the sun. I could go on and on about the pros and cons of printing, and owning a printer, but the point is to have FUN doing it, and trying new things.
Hey Debbie, Awesome tip! Thank you. Cheers.
Was about to leave a comment here to this effect. The one thing I will add to this is that the default material for entry 3d printers, PLA, is rather safe, but susceptible to the factors Dave jones mentioned above. If you are thinking of printing materials that can survive heat or UV conditions, you need to make sure to research the safety of printing those materials, some are toxic and need to be printed in ventilated areas to avoid material poisoning. Some also have special considerations for the printer itself, such as enclosures and humidity/temperature ranges that could kill your print.
Wow. There should be more out there about this!! Thanks for sharing the information. I’ll have to include it in an upcoming episode as a subscriber tip.
Thanks
Cheers.
My wife has a 3D printer at work and made me the mag light clips for my seat. They work great!!! Thank you for your videos!
Hey Tim,
You are very welcome. I’m glad you found the video helpful. Cheers.
So cool to see 3D printing made it on your channel! Make sure to use PETG filament for anything you print for your vehicle. PLA is the most common filament material, but it begins to warp and deform at around 120°-140°F. It’s also pretty brittle. PETG is much stronger and more heat resistant. ABS is another option, except it’s toxic when heated. PETG is the same material used in water bottles.
Hey Andrei,
Thanks for the feedback and awesome tip!
Cheers
My son designed and printed a set of clips to keep the seatbelts in our 2-door JKs from flapping when running doors off. Great solution to a small annoyance. He sells them for $20 a set (plus shipping).
Hey Carl, Thanks for sharing. Great idea. Cheers.
I’d be interested in that file…
Carl, how can we order a set?
@@Tgauchsin I went to Thingiverse.com and searched Jeep Seat Belt, and found a file that seems to answer your question.

First I want to say thank you for all the great content, for almost a year I've been watching your channel and viewing your updates as I prepared for my first Jeep Wrangler. Yesterday I finally got it!!!! It's a dream come true. I feel like I'm so much better prepared to own this one of a kind vehicle. It's a 2020, 2 door, Willys, while I don't see myself rock climbing with it, it will go to the beach and drive through some very loose sand. I adore it. Your affection for Jeep wrangler's is so infectious, keep up the great work. I can't believe I finally got my dream vehicle, I've wanted one since I first saw 'Rat Patrol', the wait was worth it. Keep up the great content!!!!!
Hey Russ, we must be kindred spirits. I watched rat patrol and this is my first ever Jeep as well. Thank you for the feedback on the channel. More episodes to come. Feel free to share. Cheers.
Congrats Russ on your 1st Jeep... !
As they say, it is not the fastest, but dammit, it can go wherever you want it... 😁😁😁
Wow, this opens up a bunch of new opportunities I hadn’t considered. Thanks for making this video. Would you be able to do future videos on Other 3D printed and DIY stuff?
Hey Ken,
I think if other viewers also ask, it would be a good idea. I know I'd enjoy doing another one.
Cheers.
Always interesting and very useful topics! Thank you Dino!
Cheers, Nash
Hey Nash, Thank you very much for your feedback on the video. Always very much appreciated. Cheers
Thanks Dino!! I never thought about using the 3-D printer to make parts for my Jeep!!
Hey Gary,
Yeah, it would be great for those incidental parts that could come in handy, to custom items like club badges. Cheers.
Wow I had no idea. Amazing and unique video!
Hey Randy,
Actually, the possibilities are endless. Need a part or bracket, just 3D print it!
Thanks for the feedback.
Cheers.
I missed this video after our conversation Hehe. some cool ideas that you pointed out. I love my 3D printing and making stuff. I am working on some new fog light mounts now.
Nice! Have fun. Cheers.
I need a specific part that is only sold in the cold air intake kit. I need the hood cut out vent for the wrangler JL cold air intake kit. The only way to get this part is to buy the kit but I don’t need the whole kit I only need the hood cut out bezel. It’s all plastic and extremely cheap. So if anyone knows where I can get this please let me know
Hey American patriot,
3D printing would be a great solution. I'd also recommend posting your request on a Jeep Wrangler forum.
Cheers.
Brilliant! More of these please1
Hey Patrick,
Thank you for the feedback. Cheers.
@@CheaperJeeperTV you awakened a sudden NEED of jeep gear! LOL
@@patrickmolloy6994 LOL, yeah who would have thought a 3D printer would make the list of essential gear. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
Great video! Would be cool to make the keyhole delete tabs.
Hey Pretzel, I agree. You can get the blackout look, without worrying about the plasti-dip or paint chipping. Cheers.
How exciting! I think you gave me an excuse to get a 3D printer!
LOL..Awesome! Let me know what items you end up making for your Jeep. Cheers.
Some really great ideas, but the question is... how much is a 3D printer? This would definitely save a lot of time online shopping
Hey Jendell Overland,
Like anything else, the cost would go up with addition of features, but they seem quite reasonable, especially if you really get into it and do a lot of printing. A guy in my club prints stuff all the time, and says the filament is inexpensive as well. I couldn't believe that you can use a 3D printer for free at the public library also.
I'm sure the unit could pay for itself, if the unit was used to make badges for your club as a fund raiser.

3D printers are fairly inexpensive - some good ones on Amazon in the $300 range.
