Commenting before finishing vid but you should 100% fit some bug netting on the outside of the windows so you don't have to deal with unwanted friends during the night!
Can easily grab some magnetic strip and sew them to size with some screen material. Love this dude. I got a 3d printer and would love to collaborate if that’s not a thing yet!
You've got a really neat little camper, but a couple of suggestions.... I used to do suspension work in the automotive industry, and something that engineers strive for is having the shocks and springs mounted as close to the wheels as is feasible. If they aren't, the suspension components will be much more subject to flexing, bending, and breaking. Your suspension will be much more robust if the shocks are mounted vertically and attached just inboard of the wheels with the tops attached to the outside of the camper box, using maybe something like pipe flanges attached to the walls. I wouldn't just simply drill a hole in the wall to bolt the shock to because it would probably just tear loose. A well mounted pipe flange would spread the load, and you could run the shock bolt through the center hole. A bushing in the center hole will be needed, because you will want to use a fairly large pipe flange in order to spread the load as much as possible. A large flat steel plate, say 12" by 12" or bigger would work even better to spread the load. Have one hole in the center for the shock bolt and lots of holes to attach the plate to the wall. A large piece of reinforcing plywood on the inside of the wall would be a good idea too. You've built the thing like a battleship, so I'm sure that the walls will easily carry the weight applied to the top end of the shocks, but some extra L brackets joining the walls to the floor, all the way around the box would also be advisable. Place the L brackets on the OUTSIDE of the camper box. Very important. I know that this sounds like a major refit, but it would pay dividends in the long run. All an indoor fan does is move around the hot air, and a camper box that closes up as tight as yours does could possibly experience a harmful or even lethal build up of CO2, along with an uncomfortable level of humidity, which can cause the unwanted growth of mold. That's why house attics are always well ventilated. Further, nice commercially available campers always have some kind of air circulation system. You need to install an exhaust fan high on the wall, just below the roof line, near the end where you cook your food. You could use a side by side pair of really beefy brushless computer fans with a speed controller. They are very efficient, and with the monster battery you've got in there you could run those fans for days and days. They would do alot to keep you cool during the day and at night, as long as you have an open window with a screen to act as an air intake. If you exhaust air, it needs a place to come in as well. Place the air intake at the opposite end of the camper box from the fan to get full flow through ventilation. A substantial bug proof steel screen on the intake is essential to make sure that critters don't get in while you're snoozing. A top hinged outside cover for the fans and air intake will be needed to keep out the weather, and these will also function as little awnings to keep out the water on rainy days... I'm old, retired, and half crippled now, and it's fun to watch you build all of this neat stuff that I never had the time or resources to build when I was your age. Please accept my suggestions in the spirit in which they are given, and above all, have fun while you can.
Depending on wether he want this contraption to go wintercamping, your suggested air intake should have a closing / regulation option. A sliding cover of sorts.
Suggestions for adding to your camper. -1- install mosquito nets outside your windows. -2- install supports for your feet when you drive like pedals. -3- install a light bar on the front of the camper above your head for driving in the dark.
I was just thinking that. Also, he needs to figure out his charge controller issue so he can trust leaving it on. Solar panels are meant to always be connected so no sun is wasted.
This dude has one of the best channel’s on UA-cam IMO….his projects bring out the inner kid in me,I used to try and build projects like this when I was young…mind you they would never turn out like his do…but they were definitely fun to build and play with…Every time I see a new video from the quiet nerd I get all excited to watch it…keep up the amazing builds my man.
Upgrade Ideas: 1. Footrests underneath the drivers seat for your feet. 2. Significantly more stable fork tubes. If the current perforated parts break off, you'll crash into the ground and end up injuring your upper body. 3. Mosquito nets at least around the windows
i would also add 2 more panels boards like the one he has that will fold on the roof then when he stop he can open them as a shade roofs on the sides. that way he gets about 1200W so even in not so great days he still able to recharge. but deffently 1 and 2 are a must!!
5. A transparent roof cover for the driver seat for rain or shine while being able to maintain visibility of both the road ahead and weather. UV rays are getting deadlier
This has been an awesome project! Here are some ideas for your next upgrades. 1. A retractable bug screen for your door 2. mini air conditioner 3. Ceiling vent to vent out the hot air and humidity 4. Foot rests for your driver's seat.
Id be adding some screens in the windows and an intake and exhaust fan on one window with the other fan on the other side to create a cross breeze. Good stuff looks fun!
This is hands down the best DIY camper build I've seen! I'm paranoid so I would add little curtains for some privacy. Imagine looking outside and seeing a face looking back at you!
Maybe having overhead storage for like small things like a machete or something to help you get through the overgrown bits or having little foldable chair and table so you can eat outside Maybe have a shutter for the windows
I was thinking that a roll-up awning would add some shade so he could cook and eat outdoors, enjoy the lake... A attachable/detachable table with detachable legs on the outer side would be great--with a plug he could take his appliances outside to cook, too. Every RV has an awning! There must be a reason? Creating shade cools sown the camper a lot.
I would suggest installing some little hooks near the entry hatch for the purpose of easily hanging your boots off the ground to discourage wildlife from crawling inside and allow them to dry/air out. Maybe underneath the chassis in case it rains/snows.
Please, for the next iteration of this camper, do consider adding a motorcycle-like foot rest. I'm telling you this with lots of loving health and safety in mind. Keep it up man! Your cable management is so sweet it would make an OSHA inspector blush.
Exactly. He's putting his feet, ankles, and legs in jeopardy by not having a proper foot rest. Something more protective (think scooter rather than motorcycle peg) makes even more sense given the rugged terrain he's going through.
Window mesh, fan mount & driving footrests!! Love watching you enjoy your creativity 💜 #Pleasedontbendanymore #Pleasedontfalloff #Welovemrfish #RIPshoes #Screwsfordays
In all seriousness, I love your engineering abilities, your personality and your absolute positive attitude about all that happens around you. If everyone was like you, there would be no evil. It would be extinct on this Earthly plane. 🙏👍❤
When mounting any electronic devices, it's always a good idea to use foam rubber or similar padding to isolate them from vibrations. This is especially important for switching power supplies, but it applies to PCBs with components in general, as vibrations can negatively affect their reliability over time.
Seen a lot of suggestions for additional improvements that would add creature comfort and repulsion from unwanted creatures, but I'd like to add a further frame supprt element so the camper lasts longer. Even though you moved the back axel frontwards some, it seems from the shot at 17:07 that a lot of stress is still carried towards the front wheel. I'd suggest, since your using square perfed tubing, to add onto behind the seat some sort of moveable drop suppports for when the camper is "parked" for extended periods for when you're going in and out. You could add some decent sized feet and use lock pins to secure them to the ground when parked, and secured up while traveling. This would add a lot of stability while moving about the cabin and climbing in and out and save wear and tear on the frame overall. Keep up the dream!
Maybe a screen door and screened windows to reduce bugs? How about a mosquito zapper light away from the door to get rid of mosquitoes?Cabinets inside for secured storage?
I LOVE your engineering skills and creativity. I think your Motorcycle Camper has the perfect balance of Steampunk and modernism! I really enjoyed the video!
I'm a tiny bit mechanical, but your videos blow me away. Love seeing every DIY you make and love watching you use them. Very creative. And so many great suggestions from your fans!
With the cold weather fast approaching, I do hope you'll be doing some camping trips in that weather again. There's just something about the peaceful silence of the colder months that just feels right.
Create one of those events where everyone with the same campers/brands all meet for a week or weekend like a Burning Man event. And stream it for us oldsters that could never... We could pay...use the $$ to offset unexpected costs (not too much tho)...
Hope its strong enough to hold a bear back from attacking the camper lol. Whatever u cook in that camper they could probably smell that from a distance so careful lol.
You should install a 12v roof vent from a RV. They’re not expensive. And some screen doors / windows. And a small air fryer dose wonders for cooking options.
about 17min in, gonna comment while it's on my mind. Like someone before me said, add netting for bugs so you can open the window while cooking. some other ideas, a removable umbrella incase you need to drive during the rain. backup tire.a portable canopy and chair, so yo can chill outside but not be in the blazing heat. definitely insulation. some sort of rubber/plastic/vinyle seal over the wood so you can camp in the rain and no water gets in through the cracks. Great video.
I agree on most of these things, too. I think of the insulation 🥶 every video, but it's so pretty being all wood--is that the reason he never added it? I think of carpeting too--it would be warmer at night, with his sleeping bag on the floor? He could use insulation and padding under the carpet? I've been wondering about an awning too--and an attachable/detachable table--trailers are all coming with them now--with an outlet to cook outside! They use detachable adjustable legs for the table, using those square tubes with all the holes that he uses all the time for the 2 outer legs (the camper wall is the inside support--some just use it as a ledge--maybe they use something to connect that is over my head...? He won't need this much till spring/summer, but in summer it would be much cooler to cook outside, make a frozen smoothie, etc. He did use that yellow vinyl on the roof...his signature fabric? Water-proofing... We can keep him busy all winter.😉🤯 And I'm learning so much about things I had no clue... What about a boat he can tow to the lake with his camper?😂😂😂 I loved his boat best. Tho this is winning me over quickly...
These videos are so great. Your methods are unconventional but that's what makes this so fun. No rules to your builds and it's so refreshing. Please keep making these!
Maybe you can add a footrest to the driving position, which would be more comfortable and look more integrated. I have that screen, too. I take it with me when I go camping. I bring some cables and I can project the screen from my phone onto the screen to watch some movies or TV shows.
I like how raising the height helps prevent his feet from dragging could see it being tiring to keep them from dragging. With the new height probably helps traverse the terrain. Kudos Quiet Nerd. I am new to the channel and loving all of it. Mixture of nature and technology in a perfect blend. Keep it up!
i live full time in a camper van I made out of a cargo van. I get that look of satisfaction you have every time you make a cookie, or flick on a light, because I get that too. Every time I sit at my PC gaming setup, ask google to turn my ventilation fan on, pull down my murphy bed, or keep my air conditoner on for 10 hours straight because I generate more solar than it consumes, I feel a sense of achievement and satisfaction. That's how it feels to keep the fruits of your own labour, we're lucky because we live in a system where that connection to our own labour is not common place.
Thanks for the vid Some tl;dr recommendations : - Bug net for windows and door, retractable. - Foot rest for the driver seat, - Some said suspension fix for some spot.
2 additions, insect nets over the windows from outside, and put easily mountable "legs" on the solar panel, so you can keep it facing the sun for aslong as possible.
That was awesome when you first got it going, and your hair was blowing in the wind. And you were laughing and smiling, I was literally laughing out loud.good stuff man 😂
Next upgrade you should do is make the entire frame from steel tubing and make it into a proper electric bike style camper that way you could go out on farther road trips
I always love watching these videos, especially when you revisit a project and upgrade it further. I did have a few ideas that I think would improve the build. 1) Bug screen for the door. They sell magnetic ones that automatically close after you go through them. 2) an overhead ceiling fan that can pull air through the windows and then exhaust out the top of the camper. 3) an awning (made out of a yellow tarp perhaps) that can roll up or extend off of the door side of the camper. This would give you a dry outdoor area and keep rain from coming in the door while you have it open. 4) a mud flap between the front wheel and the seat so you don't spray mud up onto yourself while you drive. 5) hopefully you already have this but a way so other people can't drive off with this while you're inside.
You'd be amazed how much added strength you get from compositing that steel tubing by cutting wood to fit and hammering it into the tubing. I built a pair of 60 ft beams using steel studs with 2x6's inserted into the cavity of the steel stud. 60 ft run with only 4 inches of deflection (sag) in the middle. It was for an inflated double poly film greenhouse.
This is so entertaining. Youve got a dope setup. A sorta brace to prop up the solar panel would be cool. Probably not a 90° angle but enough to park against the sun down and get the last bit of day juice
reminds me of a tinker toy from the 7-'s.... slotted hole infrastructure, with a motor, n hinges etc!! cool... nice logistic upgrade...... Cheers... Ric St Paul, MN
This is the future of travel, living and prosperity! Wish I could make something like this! Only thing I’d suggest is some nice siding for the outside 👍🏼Good job really cool! ❤❤
Love it... But couple of things...1) Foot pegs Bro. They will work wonders for getting on and off and a more comfortable and safer ride. 2) you need to adjust your lights. You are literally losing 50% of your headlights by them shining up like that. 3) mount your temp sensor to the box of the camper. 4) You need to put some type of screen material in your windows so you can leave them open and not have bugs get in. 5) Carry either some parchment paper, or some type of dollar store tablecloth with you to keep on your table so that way you don't get crumbs all over your camper. Other than that that thing is pretty badass
Foot pegs would be a simple add on and would make it more comfortable as well as make less uncomfortable looking. It will also make it a lot safer in the event of a sudden stop.
Some things I'd suggest is moving back axle closer to the middle of camper. Right now theres too much weight on the front fork. But yeah. I really enjoy this. So fun, my god
Very nice video. I like the way you think. I like the little extras that a lot of us wouldn't think of, like the pipe insulator "noodles". I like that it's all bolted together and didn't require welding. If I were driving it, I would have to have foot pegs or footrests so my feet didn't dangle. That seems like it would be hard on my thighs to dangle for an extended time. Well done, and don't stop!
You are such a handy dude. Also you are really good at showing how to just enjoy every moment we can get in life. You are an inspiration to humanity my friend.
Just a suggestion for night fishing. If you want to get some catfish use live bait and let it sink to the bottom ie worms ect. For bass use a surface lure like a popper or a jitterbug. rubber worms don't work too well because they don't have the same visual reference at low levels of light.
By the end of next year: "It's time for an upgrade! Last time, when taking out the camper, we ran into a few problems: It was hard adjusting the rigidity factor in order for the camper to sustain itself under Jupiter's gravity"
Oh wow, the sound of the PlayStation 1 starting up... brings back childhood memories! And Crash is a top-tier choice. Thanks for the video, it's great as always :)
You should add some pegs for your feet to go on. Also, you should try to do a small gas engine build next. I think you can actually do quite a bit with weed eater engines. Also, go cart engines can be obtained fairly cheaply I believe. I think a gas powered build would be even more reliable for an outdoor/survival/mobile mini house build.
They're called contrails not chemtrails. Condensation trails. They are formed from water vapour due to jet engine exhaust. The conspiracy people who think they are chemical trails are like uncontacted tribes people who don't understand how basic technology or science works.

Please keep making these!
you should totally bring a guitar or a ukulele with you!
That’s camper is so cool ! Awesome upgrades ! 😊
It's crazy where it all started and how the camper looks now. Good job!
Foot Rest while driving is my only suggestion for you to add to this awesome vehicle!
yea.. its hurting my head looking at his willing legs too..
I was about to comment the same thing.
Keep it up!
You should put an external storage rack in the back bumper area. Love the channel bro!
Can't wait for winter camping in this thing. Looking forward to more adventures with you thank you.
Who knows, maybe it's not for everyone, but I absolutely love your videos ❤
i live full time in a camper van I made out of a cargo van.
Thanks for the vid
Some tl;dr recommendations :
- Bug net for windows and door, retractable.
- Foot rest for the driver seat,
- Some said suspension fix for some spot.
2 additions, insect nets over the windows from outside, and put easily mountable "legs" on the solar panel, so you can keep it facing the sun for aslong as possible.
@@DMitr0 you know he's gonna make some motorized mount that straight up follows the sun : )
i also recommend the same. and also a place to rest his feet while he is driving the trike
@@RedBeerd Bruuuhhhh I love this. I hope he does it. Like a solar panel sentry.
@wildcard2058 fair point
Though he could make some kinda motorized tripod thingy that could be in the sun while he's parked in the shade as well : )
That was awesome when you first got it going, and your hair was blowing in the wind. And you were laughing and smiling, I was literally laughing out loud.good stuff man 😂
For those of you wondering what it says at 2:52, it says “please don’t bend anymore”
All is great but I gotta say, the bloop when the frame appeared was simply delightful
I love your videos. They really make me smile!
I like how you have wholesome fun just camping out and creating simple experiences!
Dude, I just wanted to wish you good luck and success in your projects. I like your videos, I like what you do!
Greetings from Canada
This is so entertaining. Youve got a dope setup. A sorta brace to prop up the solar panel would be cool. Probably not a 90° angle but enough to park against the sun down and get the last bit of day juice
I love that he pats everything!! ❤
i just peeped that Too!
Nice piece of property you have there, nothing like backyard camping!
Anyone else feel like hes the bob ross of camping?
reminds me of a tinker toy from the 7-'s.... slotted hole infrastructure, with a motor, n hinges etc!! cool... nice logistic upgrade...... Cheers... Ric St Paul, MN
It reminds me of the Meccano set that I had in the 60's!
This is the future of travel, living and prosperity! Wish I could make something like this! Only thing I’d suggest is some nice siding for the outside 👍🏼Good job really cool! ❤❤
1:27 who else saw pretzels when he was painting the bars?
I had to run it back in .25 speed 😂

Everytime i watch his video i always got sudden flash or Something pop idk wht it is ,but i determine to know wht it is everytime
pretzels
I was thinking he'll end with ants if brushes away crumbs for long.
You should put a roof over the driver seat in case of rain 🌧️
00:36 thank you cake face Jason, I did enjoy the video :D
19:00 godd sky right there, good for the environment 👌 We are f*****. Awesome video by the way, awesome tricicle camp!
it's taken me 20 minutes to watch the first 5 minutes of the video so i can stop and slow the video to read the hidden messages... im going insane
That's why I just unsubscribed.
It says please don’t bend anymore.
Seriously though, it hurts my brain
Wtf? 😂
Little kickstands on each side of the solar panels would help a ton a bet. Just to raise either side a few inches to angle towards the sun.
That jingling sound when you drive scares the shit outta me, like theres bolts loosening
I think it’s the clanging of the front forks.
Some things I'd suggest is moving back axle closer to the middle of camper. Right now theres too much weight on the front fork.
But yeah. I really enjoy this. So fun, my god
i love your hidden messages/ pictures in your videos, they are superhard to find but always a blast, when i notice one 😂
❤ @ 14:40 "Just livin the dream!" 😎
dude love to see you back on in nature just put some foot rest pegs on the fork my legs hurt just watching and add some screens to the windows.
You should add an awning next, and an outdoor power outlet.
You could cook outside and enjoy the cool breeze out there.
I love watching you test your projects, like its so satisfying to see someone enjoy their work
By the end of next year:
"It's time for an upgrade!
Next build is another off-road camper where you can drive from the inside 🙏🏼
You should add some pegs for your feet to go on. Also, you should try to do a small gas engine build next. I think you can actually do quite a bit with weed eater engines. Also, go cart engines can be obtained fairly cheaply I believe. I think a gas powered build would be even more reliable for an outdoor/survival/mobile mini house build.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate your dedication @12:20 - Had me dying LOL.
Those chemtrails were insane!
Thanks for letting us ride along ❤ Nice upgrades!
Why they sprayed chemtrails in the sky?
They're called contrails not chemtrails. Condensation trails. They are formed from water vapour due to jet engine exhaust. The conspiracy people who think they are chemical trails are like uncontacted tribes people who don't understand how basic technology or science works.
Awesome video. You should think about adding foot rests to the vehicle. 😮👍
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. Subscribed.
2:52 I DID IT!
What did it say?
Please dont bend any more.... took me way too long smh
I called the emergency service AKa 911 cause I was trying to screenshot it
