Bought my first bike (2015 Heritage Classic) June 2. Took the MSF course 2 weeks later and failed the riding part. July 18 was quarantined for 2 weeks from exposure to COVID at work (I’m an ER nurse). July 27 I lost my amazingly beautiful Mother In Law to COVID. August 6th I was putting out game cameras in preparation for deer season and stepped in a hole. Broke the end off my fibula. August 26th my husband loaded both of our Harleys onto our toy hauler camper and we evacuated 2 hours north of where we live in lower Cameron Parish. In anticipation of a Cat 4 hurricane, we left our camper and bikes and travelled an additional 2 hours farther and sheltered in Shreveport while hurricane Laura devastated our beloved Southwest Louisiana and our toy hauler. Miraculously, neither of our bikes were damaged. We literally had to cut them out of our camper. Our home place was destroyed but, again, miraculously, our house, though heavily damaged, is repairable. The hospital where I work was also destroyed. September15, I lost one of my best friends to COVID. So many times, in so many ways, every time I’d think about taking the class again, something would happen and I’d have to postpone again. But I haven’t thrown in the towel yet. Between you, the most awesome coach Jeff at Cajun Harley Davidson, DDFM and last but by no means the least, Jerry Palladino, I rode my bike for the first time the day after Christmas. When I’d feel myself wanting to put my foot down I’d literally hear you say “Just remember, when there is power going to the back wheel, your bike will not fall”. I’d hear Jerry say “Head and eyes. Your bike will not go where you are not looking. ” Sure, I just basically rode in circles and big figure 8s for about an hour on the asphalt range, but I kept it shiny side up and had a blast. Thank you for doing what you do. If it wasn’t for you and a few other amazingly wonderful men like you, my bike would be sitting back in the showroom waiting on someone else to buy her. I apologize for writing a chapter of my life book here, but I just wanted you to know that you truly are appreciated, and Mrs Anita, a heartfelt Thank YOU for sharing him with us. By us I mean Ms. Fannie and myself. Ms. Fannie is my bike💕
Wow!... No need for an apology. Thank you so much for sharing all of this with me... With us. My condolences for your mother-in-law and your best friend. You've faced so much adversity, yet you still move forward and stay positive. I commend you! I have a tattoo on my left forearm. It reads, "In my darkest moments, I focus to see the light." This tattoo may as well be on you because it encapsulates who you are. I also want to thank you for your service as a front line worker. No part of me ever imagined that what I was doing here would have this kind of impact on anyone. I am extremely proud of you!! Please keep doing what you're doing and I'll keep doing what I'm doing. Clearly Ms. Fannie is therapeutic for you. Please feel free to email me and keep me apprised on your progress with becoming Ms. Fannie's Boss, and with anything else you wish to share with me. God bless and stay safe.
By the way.... your ground protector for your kickstand also saves your battery from draining. If you have ever set a car battery down in the garage for storage, putting it in a board will keep the battery from draining. Same with your motorcycle. You have your metal kickstand on the ground therefore creating a conductor of sorts. The ground protector breaks that circuit per se, saving your battery.
Thank you for taking the time to post all these great vids! My wife and I love to ride (she’s on her own bike) We try to brush up on low speed riding skills in a local parking lot when we can, so important!

Thank you, after watching going to make sure I go to a lot early morning, to practice. I left my bike, 2016 Indian Springfield, garaged in Charlotte NC, driving it from Hell's Kitchen, NYC, last Nov,. Well, Giving, going to pick my baby up soon, and ride it back to NYC. I usually give myself a few days on the way back. I was thinking of visiting you and a friend in Georgia, but not sure have time to put in that kind of road work. Best! Oh, and the highway bar tube info was interesting.

(Work in Brooklyn east new york live in Suffolk county) yes I take the Jackie Robinson into work And many times I do take my motorcycle that is a hairy and scary ride sometimes. Lol. I just wanted to say how much I have learned from your videos and how much my confidence has improved as well as my slow speed handling skills thank you again.
Thank you Tom! Thank you. Same to you & your family. I'm very thankful to hear you're out there practicing. Man I used to love driving on the Jackie Robinson Parkway! Look forward to more, stay safe hello to your wife and family, and all the best. Gordon 2013 FLHTC
I Drilled a hole in my aluminium pavement protector and I tied a long lace to it and made a loop at the other end. After placing the protector under my side stand I then securely hang the loop end of the lace from my left handle grip. Now I can reclaim the protector without bending over the side of the bike when it’s time to go. This is particularly important when on soft ground while camping or have a heavy load on board.
If you put a piece of string on the kickstand pad you don't have to lean over to pick it up. Put a loop on the end and put the string on the handlebars.
Thanks for this Robert, I probably do 70% 2 up riding because my wife love’s riding so much. I can’t wait for winter to be over up here in Canada so we can start riding again in the spring! I like your style of explaining things, I just bought a 2016 Indian Road Master and I’ll be going to my church here in Ormond Beach Florida and practicing. We did a lot of this when I took the riding course at the Harley Davidson Dealership. I love your channel and I’ll stay connected with you, and Thank You for doing this! 😊 Also just curious, my Marine Corps buddy Yves Mandat also retired from the NYPD and lives in New York, any chance you know him?
So Robert, you mentioned looking into some new exhaust. May i make some recommendations for slip on mufflers? In order of pricing, Full Boar are probably the best for your money only problem is they only come in 3" or 3.5". I have them on my work MC and they sound great. Next would be Wild Pigs and the last are TAB exhaust. I have Rinehart 4" slip ons on my personal MC which cost more than the ones mentioned and don't sound anywhere as good. As with any exhaust, if you go true duals w/the cat delete they'll be louder and with the slip ons, the bigger the baffle the louder unless you go without any baffles. Your neighbors will love you then 👍

Thanks for the great videos and hopefully I will get the chance to upload or send to you some of my videos on slow maneuvering. Still working on the weaving. Maybe it will get better when I can get some mini apes where the bars want be in my legs.

Sir, I have a question about tyres. I myself have great confidence in Metzeler Marathon Extreme on my bike. (Harley Electra Glide CVO and a Honda GL 1500 Valkyrie). I live in the Netherlands, where temperatures are (most of the time) not so high. Do you think the manouevres you make, can be done with every brand of tyres, or are there some that are better qualified for the job? Love the tag this way Anita knows how many vehicles she has. Well should I say everything is our wives. They just let us use them :) Happy New Year to all . Stay safe ride smart in the new Year~!

Thank you man!! I know brother... I know! That’s my Queen!!!

Thanks for the video and your service as a Pd LT. I never thought to up and no change. Simple is awesome. A local rider suggested you I see why. Thanks.

Great video Rob and thank you. My wife and I just went for a ride this morning about 36 degrees in CT found an open lot and tried some of the fundamentals! Keep it coming!
Thanks Dave! Wow I love your steadfastness! 36 degrees...! If a score was being given for practicing, you deserve bonus points my friend. And your wife deserves even more!!😊👍🏾
So glad I found your channel and subscribed. Keep doing what you're doing brother we all love you man!! And none of what you teach is taken for granted I try and apply every time I get to ride and it definitely helps!!
Thank you very much Elmo! Thank you for watching and subscribing!👍🏾😁 I’m happy that my channel has been helpful to you! That makes all the time and effort that I put into this so worthwhile!

This was a great Demo. Thank your wife for coming out to play. I will share with my wife. Happy New Year. Looking forward to coming up from Florida to practice with you this year. She was awesome.
Thank you! I let her know. She said you’re welcome. Happy New Year and I’m looking forward to practicing with you as well!
It's about time you got your Captain out there with you, Happy New year's to you both and thank you again for your vids. Quick tip. Drill a hole in your kick stand drive way protector and loop some string to attach to your handlebar, that way you don't have to lean over to reach for it.
Hey Jake. Yes I was very happy to have her out there with me! Happy New Year and thank you for that tip! It’s an excellent idea!👍🏾😊
Hey Jake. Do you mind me mentioning your name on a future video thanking you for the information about drilling a hole in the kickstand driveway protector?
Like your positive attitude. I took the ride like a pro class a long time ago and I try to test myself every ride.
Thank you very much! Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed!👍🏾😊

Thanks brother! Happy New Year!👍🏾
Gosh, I wish I was closer to your area I would be out there practicing with you in a heartbeat; this is practice I so so need. U-turns are so scary for me I would literally go around 50 blocks to keep from making one; tight ones that is, larger ones I feel more comfortable with. Please keep the videos coming, I am in the process of going back and watching from the beginning. Thank you for sharing your skills with us here in UA-cam land. Peace and good fortunate :-)
Hey buddy. Thanks for watching and subscribing!. Practice and time will take care of that fear. I assure you.👍🏾
It's my pleasure.
Happy New Year’s....! Great video and content. I am a new rider and truly appreciate you sharing. Thanks.

Thank you for doing this. I've been riding motorcycles since I was 8 years old. I got a Ultra Limited this summer. Completely different type of riding compared to my Springer or Widglide. Your awesome brother.

Thanks Dave! Happy New Year!

Interesting...🤔 Thank you.

Happy new year. Wish you and your family all the best. Just wanted to say how grateful I am that I came across your videos I have watched a few of them now. I was out today practicing.
The parkway separated the real drivers from the amateur drivers. Riding on it was fun as well but not as fun.😇 I'm also thrilled to learn that my videos helped you! Makes this all worth it!👍🏾
Great job showing the practical applications of the cone exercises with the driveway demonstration.

Thanks. I’ve taken care of that thanks to fellow Preloaders such as yourself.
If you put a piece of string on the kickstand pad you don't have to lean over to pick it up. Put a loop on the end and put the string on the handlebars.
Thank you very much! I actually have that now. Two fellow PRELOADERS put me on to that.
Robert thank you for showing us how to do these exercises 2-up!
My pleasure Jamie!
Thanks for this Robert, I probably do 70% 2 up riding because my wife love’s riding so much. I can’t wait for winter to be over up here in Canada so we can start riding again in the spring! First thing I do is go to the arena parking lot and shake off the slow speed cobwebs!

Your neighbors will love you then 👍
Thanks Jose!👍🏾

My daughter will not ride without the tour pack now. Had a sissy bar for over a year and put a tour pack on to go to Sturgis and now she will not ride with the better looking sissy bar. Was wondering if you had a chance to see if the scraping pegs where on the bottom of your floor boards.

Thank you for sharing your skills and teaching us to become better riders! One is never too old to learn, I ride since 1981, started when I was 18 years old. I hope to learn lots more of your great videos. Have a good day!!
I’m not an expert on tires, but I will say as long as the tires are the proper size for your motorcycle and the tread is within the proper specifications, you should be fine. 👍🏾
