Had my xc90 drive pulley seized in the middle of Nebraska. Thanks God the alternator is sitting on the different decoupler drive pulley and not connected to the main serpentine belt. Made 1,400 mile journey with no coolant and power steering back home (was cold enough to keep the engine cool); rebuilt the entire auxiliary side. It’s back on the road now with over 260k on odometer
Wonderful, what about 4 tensioner pulleys breaking apart at the casting within a couple years? All pulleys have been replaced the 4th brand new tensioner just broke.
Lol i have the same car but sedan and my tensioner sheared off the same way but it completely came off. Bought a new one and it failed within 600 miles, warrantied the part and replaced, along with belt. Just failed me yesterday sfter 3K miles. Not sure if it was caused by improper installment or bad manufacturing. I follow rules by the manual. Both times it sheared at the same part and the majority of the metal looked extremely degraded except for small piece (which i assume is what was holding it together.) Confusing, ill have to do more research.

I once bought an abused SVTf with a rusted out dipstick tube. I had never seen that in a vehicle my entire life. My fault for buying a Ford in the first place.

Surely, having no coolant damaged the engine. Especially with aluminum engines.
Now the cameraman can't make any excuses about his car and being late lol!
