She came across a homeless girl with no shoes when she was younger. She gave up her shoes and vouched to sing barefoot until every homeless person had shoes.
It happened in Iran (middle east), at her grandma's hometown. Based on the true story of when she was six years old, Angelina met a homeless, shoeless girl. After they talked for a long time, she gave the girl her shoes and vowed never to appear on stage again wearing shoes until all the world's children had them. Since that time, Angelina has always performed barefoot in public.

She has had much more than a billion views long time before AGT. She has helped raise millions of Euros in charity concerts for poor children. She has sung for Obama, and some royalties, Nobel Peace Price concert and more, and has worked together with many big names in the music industry so far, and everyone knows her there. Been live at national TV countless times. Quincy Jones has told, when she performed in London at his 85th birthday, that he had not seen a bigger talent since Michael Jackson. She is the youngest author of a book in Norway, at age 9. And she has written 3 own songs so far, when she was 11 and 12, and 2 others written for her. She has done more than 120 covers, many of them better than the original, according to reactors. She has done all genres, from jazz to EDM, and everything in between. She has her own album of original songs ready for releasing shortly. And she doesnt wear shoes on stage until all poor children have shoes. My old mouth is like that young one in the audience with almost any song this artist does. There are few people that affect me like Angelina does. None that understand what the song means, has the technique to make the song sound as it should, and the musical knowledge to do a song the way she wants it to sound, and make it a masterpiece with her voice. Angelina is a vocal Rembrandt.
I have watched AGT since the first season and I have never heard the audience give such a deafening roar of cheers and applause like that before. She silenced them with her voice and at the end they erupted in cheers. Amazing.

Finally you get to my favorite singer! There are 125+ videos of Angelina for you to watch. She began with Jazz. She has three of her own originals (Shield, What is Life and Oslo), a song composed from an 1700s poem that she was to do the vocals for and it's the only vocal on a mainly instrumental album (A Song For A) and EDM song she was featured on (Above the Water). She has an album out called "It's Magic" that she did with the Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces. Angelina met a girl about the same age, 6 years old, on the streets weighing people for money. They talked for awhile and each expressed their dreams for the future. Angelina noticed the girl was bare footed and had scars on her feet. Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked Angelina and said she would pray for her. Angelina made vow at 6 to perform barefooted until all the world's children can have shoes, in remembrance of the girl and to remind people there are those among us who may be less fortunate in life. She has already established herself as an accomplished Jazz artist. Her preferred genre is Jazz but she has done covers of about every genre you can name. What you will find in Angelina is a vocalist who doesn't do vocal gymnastics, she simply and beautifully interprets the story and meaning of the song and pours her soul into every performance. Correction, Angelina did not sing for Obama, he happen to be in attendance at a charity where she was singing, Angelina does not do political events , I keep seeing people make this false claim over and over again.
@@ckh57 seems like a matter of semantics. I don't recall saying that she was invited to specifically sing for Obama, or that it was a political event. However, if Obama was in the audience of a charity event that she performed at then she sang for Obama along with a bunch of other people. It does seem to be splitting hairs, so I will be more specific in my wording going forward.
Clyde Harris yes thanks for addressing that. He was among many at the Brilliant Minds conference in Stockholm in June of 2019. He visited with Angelina and was very complementary of her singing. Such a thoughtful man to take the time to visit with her.
She always sings barefoot when she was young she met a little girl who couldn't afford shoes so she gave the little girl her shoes, ever since then she sings barefooted. Special young lady.

Tara - I just watched your reaction to "Oceans" by Hillsong. Awesome blessing. I think that the more you get to know Angelina, the more you will love her. She has a heart like yours. She has spent the past 7 years pouring out her soul and her talent to help people who are not as fortunate as her. She donated much, if not most of her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to children's charities and has performed in benefit concerts across the globe in support of disadvantaged children and other social causes (raising over 25 million Euros). The story of her bare feet is one of unbelievable commitment and caring. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling in the middle east (her grandmother is Iranian), and she came across a young girl close to her age who was working in the street offering to weigh people with a bathroom scale for money. She had no shoes on her feet and her feet were cracked and in pretty bad shape. They talked for a while and then the little girl mentioned how nice she thought Angelina's shoes were. Angelina asked her if she had any shoes and she said no, so Angelina gave her the shoes off her feet. Angelina asked her what her dreams were and the little girl said she wanted to be a doctor. Angelina told the little girl that she wanted to be a star and sing for the world. The little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day and asked Angelina to not forget about her. Angelina made a promise at that time that any time she sang in public she would sing barefoot to remember this little girl and bring awareness to the suffering of children around the world. To this day, over 7 years later, she has stayed true to that commitment. She remains a very grounded and humble young lady and we are all praying that she doesn't get messed up by the music and entertainment industry as she finds her way. Yes, she learned from the old masters. She started singing with 1,5 years. She covered Billy Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Screaming Jay Hawkins, Freddy Mercury, Shirley Bassey, Amy Winehouse, Lana del Rey, Adele and many more and incorporated their styles. Her 120+ covers are always unique, always interesting. I think there will be an album of new original songs after Corona

There are sea of good singers in music world today. But there are really few artists who can paint a new great music out of the songs they sing. And Angelina is one of those few....and she's still young. So much wonderful things ahead of her. She does write her own songs too. So many good things to say about her, her music, her personality.. Just don't know where to start... Guess I'll just leave it to what a fan once said. The only thing bigger than Angelina's music is her heart.

You could spend a lot of time examining her vocals. So much detail and technique she packs into every song she sings. And for people just discovering her, here is a little bio so that you can learn about her background and her kind soul.... *Angelina Jordan* - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 14 - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos. - *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. And her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Angelina does switch things around a lot, she’s got over 120 covers out there but this the first time I have heard sing like this. This is her AGT voice. She sings a lot low stuff, but also goes into full on belt mode. A lot of people are going to recommend you watch her version of I Put a Spell. I recommend it so you can see this is not the start of Angelina’s journey. She’s channeling the Screaming Jay Hawkins version, so it’s a crazy and shocking ride.

What I have been told, that one time she was somewhere where there was a homeless person. She took her shoes off and gave them to that person. Now she performed bare footed to remind us of the people that need our help.

I don’t know what it is about her voice. Just about any song she sings makes me cry a good cry. Not many things in life does this to me . My heart is somehow in line with the tone of her voice. The sound of her voice is so soothing and hypnotic that my mind goes to places in my past. Some memories are sorrowful and painful and just by listening to her angelic voice some how makes everything better and replaces them with joy and happiness. After they talked for a long time, she gave the girl her shoes and vowed never to appear on stage again wearing shoes until all the world's children had them. She plays 4 instruments, speaks 5 languages, Norwegian and English fluently, Persian, Swedish and some Japanese. She has had much more than a billion views long time before AGT. She has helped raise millions of Euros in charity concerts for poor children. She has sung for Obama, and some royalties, Nobel Peace Price concert and more, and has worked together with many big names in the music industry so far, and everyone knows her there. Been live at national TV countless times. Quincy Jones has told, when she performed in London at his 85th birthday, that he had not seen a bigger talent since Michael Jackson.

My old mouth is like that young one in the audience with almost any song this artist does. There are few people that affect me like Angelina does. Finally you get to my favorite singer! There are 125+ videos of Angelina for you to watch. She began with Jazz. She has three of her own originals (Shield, What is Life and Oslo), a song composed from an 1700s poem that she was to do the vocals for and it's the only vocal on a mainly instrumental album (A Song For A) and EDM song she was featured on (Above the Water). She has an album out called "It's Magic" that she did with the Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces. Angelina met a girl about the same age, 6 years old, on the streets weighing people for money. They talked for awhile and each expressed their dreams for the future. Angelina noticed the girl was bare footed and had scars on her feet. Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked Angelina and said she would pray for her. Angelina made vow at 6 to perform barefooted until all the world's children can have shoes, in remembrance of the girl and to remind people there are those among us who may be less fortunate in life. Buckle up if you are going to take this ride down the rabbit hole of over 120 covers and other videos that she has recorded between the ages of 6 and 14 which is her current age. Correction, Angelina did not sing for Obama, he happen to be in attendance at a charity where she was singing, Angelina does not do political events , I keep seeing people make this false claim over and over again.
@@ckh57 seems like a matter of semantics. I don't recall saying that she was invited to specifically sing for Obama, or that it was a political event. However, if Obama was in the audience of a charity event that she performed at then she sang for Obama along with a bunch of other people. It does seem to be splitting hairs, so I will be more specific in my wording going forward.
Clyde Harris yes thanks for addressing that. He was among many at the Brilliant Minds conference in Stockholm in June of 2019. He visited with Angelina and was very complementary of her singing. Such a thoughtful man to take the time to visit with her.
She always sings barefoot when she was young she met a little girl who couldn't afford shoes so she gave the little girl her shoes, ever since then she sings barefooted. Special young lady.

Tara - I just watched your reaction to "Oceans" by Hillsong. Awesome blessing. I think that the more you get to know Angelina, the more you will love her. She has a heart like yours. She has spent the past 7 years pouring out her soul and her talent to help people who are not as fortunate as her. She donated much, if not most of her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to children's charities and has performed in benefit concerts across the globe in support of disadvantaged children and other social causes (raising over 25 million Euros). The story of her bare feet is one of unbelievable commitment and caring. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling in the middle east (her grandmother is Iranian), and she came across a young girl close to her age who was working in the street offering to weigh people with a bathroom scale for money. She had no shoes on her feet and her feet were cracked and in pretty bad shape. They talked for a while and then the little girl mentioned how nice she thought Angelina's shoes were. Angelina asked her if she had any shoes and she said no, so Angelina gave her the shoes off her feet. Angelina asked her what her dreams were and the little girl said she wanted to be a doctor. Angelina told the little girl that she wanted to be a star and sing for the world. The little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day and asked Angelina to not forget about her. Angelina made a promise at that time that any time she sang in public she would sing barefoot to remember this little girl and bring awareness to the suffering of children around the world. To this day, over 7 years later, she has stayed true to that commitment. She remains a very grounded and humble young lady and we are all praying that she doesn't get messed up by the music and entertainment industry as she finds her way. To all the Angelina fans, forgive me if I have gotten any of the details wrong in my recollection of this wonderful story.

There are sea of good singers in music world today. But there are really few artists who can paint a new great music out of the songs they sing. And Angelina is one of those few....and she's still young. So much wonderful things ahead of her. She does write her own songs too. So many good things to say about her, her music, her personality.. You could spend a lot of time examining her vocals. So much detail and technique she packs into every song she sings. - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 14
- She began singing at the age of one and a half
- At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos.
- *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. - When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 120 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent.
- Angelina has written three of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube)
In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a magical world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

And her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Angelina does switch things around a lot, she’s got over 120 covers out there but this the first time I have heard sing like this. This is her AGT voice. She sings a lot low stuff, but also goes into full on belt mode. A lot of people are going to recommend you watch her version of I Put a Spell. I recommend it so you can see this is not the start of Angelina’s journey. She’s channeling the Screaming Jay Hawkins version, so it’s a crazy and shocking ride.

At 6 she met a girl with no shoes so Angelina gave hers to the girl & vowed to perform barefoot until every child in the world has shoes. What I have been told, that one time she was somewhere where there was a homeless person. She took her shoes off and gave them to that person. Now she performed bare footed to remind us of the people that need our help.

I don’t know what it is about her voice. Just about any song she sings makes me cry a good cry. Not many things in life does this to me . My heart is somehow in line with the tone of her voice. The sound of her voice is so soothing and hypnotic that my mind goes to places in my past. Some memories are sorrowful and painful and just by listening to her angelic voice some how makes everything better and replaces them with joy and happiness.
