one thing I miss from older RTS is the stats screens to see losses and buildings created. I want a count on the dead and wounded in battle lul.

Only tech priest will be a funny challenge. But impossible because you can recruit only 3 of them.

He's back! Thank you Seventepe, good content as always. Now complete DK campaign with only Tau in MELEE (no kroots is an optional surprise to be sure but a welcome one)
Maybe on normal or easy difficulty. It would be impossible on hard.
I once killed SM hero with Tau Commander in melee. And there was also a moment where I killed Tau Commander with gretchins
Dawn of war is my childhood, I can't believe they strayed so far in Dawn of War 2 & 3. The Dawn of War 1 games are 10 times better and I still play them to this day.

@@Stephen_Hawking Only Soulstorm NEEDS mod to be more enjoyable (Bugfix mod). Other expansions could be played vanilla ;-)
About mods - try those ones:
* Unification mod - adds tier 4 (mostly Titans) for every race and adds 27 additional races!
* Ultimate Apocalypse - adds a few new races but also adds Tier 4 and 5 (weapons of mass destruction) for every race!
* Tartarus and Lorn V Campaign mod - let's you play Original and Winter Assault Campaigns in Soulstorm! With new balance and new units from Soulstorm!
All those mods are for Soulstorm. There are almost no reason to use DC mods to be honest.
And use DoW Mod Manager to download mods and tweak game settings ;-)
@@igorthelight Thanks, will definetly try some of these. Especially the bugfix, last time i played i was having issues with crashing on Strongholds. And I hadn't saved during.
@@Stephen_Hawking My little advice: always have two saves ;-)
Save to a first one, after 5 minutes - save to a second one! Then after 5 minutes to the first one! And so on.
Regimental Guard units are bugged and get a huge health bonus from the morale technologies in Tactica Command. A single squad can get like 50 000 HP (although that might've been with a Priest attached). A single squad can reinforce faster than most enemies can kill them.

Small tip: game doesn't care WHAT type of units are in the IG buildings ;-)
HQ with 3 IG squads = HQ with 3 builders xD
Same thrick works with Raiders + slaves in Soulstorm when you play as Dark Eldar.
I love this, especially with the edits you make before the battle starts.
Slowly building towards enemy base and never having your guardsmen in the open is EXACTLY how i imagined IG fights in real life.

Pro tip: Right-click the reinforce (or special weapons) button(s). It will reinforce (or add special weapons) to the maximum.

Yeah, there is that odd "Unit stops responding to orders glitch".
From last tine i played the DoW trylogy i saw it happen once in every campaign.
If a squad meets, say a mauntain, in middle of their path and at least 1 idiot goes left while 12 go right...
Squad gets frozen untill either part of the squad dies or somehow reconnects to eachother.
F-ing anoying if you play Orc or IGs as it might happen more often.

Kinda wild that you were clicking reinforce rather than just press the R key. Less reliable is right clicking the reinforce button, as it will automatically add new models to the unit until it hits the cap.
Yes, you can click right mouse button, to add reinforce automatically. But they stop spawn automatically when the squad reach their limit and you need once more use right button. Thats why Im prefer to add squad members manually. I also used the R key sometimes.
@@SevenTePe yeah it's only so helpful. Still, good stuff. I always had really struggled with the area right before the Eldar main base.
I assumed his R key was broken due to overuse by the end of the campaign

Small bit of advice. If units get stuck and there is no way to remove them, use the delete key. This instant kills the entire squad, and frees up space for you to build more. Same goes for buildings no longer needed.
Thanks, I did not know about it when Im recording the gameplay. This will be very helpfull in the future.

To make a guardsmen a S tier squad you need 3 things: Commissar, Sergeant and special weapons. And it's funny that you banned them all just to suffer :)
You can also press the delete key with your commander selected to kill him so that he can’t soak damage. :)

I got an idea for a video, let me cook:Play men of war assault squad 2 but you only can get infantry. Rules: 1 you can only get infantry.
2 you can't capture enemy tanks or artillery.
Im imagine this challenge, but more in original men of war or faces of war.

Also if I’m correct cultists are weaker than guardsmen.
Comparing their statistics, they are very similar. But in combat situations, guards kill cultists before they even get close. Cultists are good only when they can fight undetected.
Challenge: try to beat only guardsmen player while not using vehicles.
I challenge you to complete Codename Panzer Phase 1 without losing any unit at any time

Maybe this is just in soulstorm, but you can right click the reinforce button to automate it.
Works in DoW (Original/Winter Assault/Dark Crusade/Soulstorm) and in DoW 2

interesting about the melee damage. It could be that i played on easy, but here, i noticed the scout marines have lower melee damage than guardsmen, so they can win agiainst scouts in melee

@@SevenTePe i found it rather amusing. I take guard is your favorite faction om dow? It sure is mine, given they are normal humans, yet fight bravely. And frankly, i find their endings are best for Kronus and in soulstorm
seven instead of ordering your commander to ceasefire you can just hit delete to kill units on the spot. Its how i got my Kroot meat on kroot only campaign while fighting the necrons.
