Nice to finally see some good reviews on it i owned it since release, maybe almost 2 years now? its a great product and my best amiga purchase since a long time.
Thanks for watching 😉 I found it strange no one had much to say about it, I assumed it just wasn't popular?
Thanks for the content and for taking time to create it. I am getting ready to install my zz9000/zz9000ax into my a3000. (just some minor feedback, the volume of the music when you stop talking is much too loud.)
Thanks for watching, and thanks for the feedback.
Amiga 2000 - back when computing was fun & exciting! I had a A2000 myself, and ended up selling it to get my first PC. Now I long to go back to the happy A2000 days!
Thanks for watching, and you're not alone in your nostalgic longing :)
Thank you. Have been enjoying your videos. You are reminding people that whilst it may not have power of the 3000/4000 or looks of the 500/1200 there is a heck of lot you can do with a 2000. I'll be bookmarking these videos for when I get enough 'pocket money' to buy for myself.
Thank you, glad you're enjoying the videos! The 2000 is the underdog of the big box Amigas and doesn't get much coverage besides battery damage repairs 😀
I love them all
Oh nice. I have one myself, never got 'round to actually use it. I have the idea that Lukas (MNT) isn't really giving the card it's attention anymore (updates, firmware etc.)
Thanks for watching... I would agree, MNT could be doing more to promote and refresh the cards... Maybe there will be some renewed interest that triggers a resurgence!
Nice content!
Thank you 😀
I agree about not matching the black ZZ9K PCB. Thats why I elected to go for AmiBlaster Deluxe.
I can confirm awful crosstalk interference with internal Paola passthrough.
Using ZZ9K with AX on new build A500++.
Thanks for watching... Well it proves it's not just me...
I have the same horrible background noise on my A4000, going to try removing that internal cable too to the ZZ9000AX!
Thanks for commenting, I was assuming it would be less of an issue for 3000/4000 owners as the ribbon cable is much shorter and is not going over a switch mode power supply... I hope it does solve the issue for you, I would be interested in knowing so I can feedback to MNT.
@@hackbuildrestore Tried it - It just changed the pitch of the background noise. My A4000D is a clone that I built myself so perhaps I did some error. Going to try it on my A2000 and another A4000 in the future to see if I get the same problem, if so its probably defect.
Interested in your results 🤔
Have you tried to invert the audio pass through cable? On JP6 of the main board you swap it around where the black wire is still in the middle where the white wire is towards the front of the amiga (original documentation has the white wire towards the back with the black wire in the middle). This is supposed to pass through the Amiga signal without amplification, where they nominal way they suggest amplifies the Amiga signal.
@@ericjohnson6105 yes, same behaviour
Some PC's either with integrated sound on the motherboard or an internal card have also audible interference. Even with USB power from the same PSU, most external cards have virtually no audible noise floor.
Also it appears that the wiring in that kit is just straight wiring, not coaxial or otherwise shielded.
Thanks for watching... Back in 1987 sound on computers was not as hi-fidelity as it is today. The Amigas sound was ground breaking for the 80s but by the 90s tech and IBM compatibles were overtaking it fast.... To the connection with the audio expansion and the ZZ9000, with exception of the internal audio (that I disconnected), they are digital data connections. The shielding issue I believe is in the long ribbon going from the Amiga's "video" slot this carries the native 15kHz video signal data and audio normally this port is used by a Video Toaster. On the Amiga 3000 and 4000 this is located much closer and not the other side of the power supply.
@@hackbuildrestoreyep.
Cool video! Have you heard of “no click”?
Yes I have lol, it seems to cause issues with WHD Load, investigation pending...
@@hackbuildrestore okay bro! Just checking! Great video
