Bambi Bucket Operation in TamilNadu. IAF Mi-17 V5 Helicopter

In response to forest fire spreading through the Nilgiri District, #IAF Mi-17 V5 heptrs from AF Stn Sulur were launched to conduct Bambi Bucket Ops.
Airborne, after a request from the TN State Admin, the heptrs undertook the fire fighting Ops, discharging over 8000 litres of water. The mission, which was spread over multiple sorties, ensured that the blaze was bought under control at a rapid pace.
