How does this start at Sona not using a microwave and transition to Sona’s husband is solely responsible for the Chernobyl disaster
because tac went to a summer camp near chernobyl
I think Conan was involved.....so he just connected the dots. He's a good detective like that.
You have to work it out in reverse.
Tak causes Chernobyl.
This makes Armenians inherently scared of radiation.
Therefore, Tak is both the cause of Chernobyl, and of Sona not having a microwave.
I don´t know, but I love these guys!!
Because he was?
I love how Conan wanted to have a serious conversation about this, without joking or any disrespect, just being curious and all, but he tormented Sona so much over all those years with turning everything into a mean joke that now she expects him to do it always, even when he's trying to be nice and have an interesting conversation with her. So the second he asks her about her husband being near Chernobyl, she immediately goes 'He has nothing to do with it!'. Oh man, I love them so much.
Nah he was definitely setting up a joke there and Sona sensed it right away. She knows Conan better than anyone.
Yeah, being a personal assistant is great (heavy heavy sarcasm)
@Captain I believe Conan was wondering if Tac had somehow been personally affected by the Chernobyl incident (lost a loved one/friend) and therefore has some trauma associated with radiation.... cuz that's kinda how Sona said it, "Do we want that radiation in our house?" Not many think of a microwave in this way anymore
Karolina Majchrowicz -- Conan's style of comedy wouldn't be comedy without a edge. About 95% of his jostling his staff is not to be taken seriously. There's an edge but there's not meanness--imo.
Sona is an LA girl she doesnt know how to love she just married that guy for someone to have kids with
It's so funny that sometimes Sona really seems to be giving Senate testimony... "He had absolutely no involvement in Chernobyl" :D
please someone need to make an edit of Sona every time she acted like she is giving Senate testimony lol
Sona tried to dodge a bullet of a Chernobyl joke from Conan, then inadvertently gave him a loaded gun of jokes!
Conan kills in this riff more than some comedians do after hours of preparation.
His great with keeping it going on the podcast
*This comment is underrated!*
Other Hosts: „Ok all focus on me!“
Conan: „Behold! My staff.“
You can tell he and Louis CK came from the same group.
Seth Meyers also involves and highlights his staff a ton too, especially his writers. Seth and Conan are my favorite hosts
Howard stern the first to do it
@@Fettclone1 Louis CK certainly has enjoyed showing other female comics how much he "appreciates" them...
@@redefinitive also: he wants people to see his “ *staff* ”
"He reheats Ramen by cupping his hands." 🤣🤣🤣
I'm Armenian and didn't grow up with one either! She's right, we just heat stuff on the stove top. I only adopted the habit after moving to the US.
But why is that any reason???
So you don't have jobs? You have 30 minutes to cook breakfast? Wow...
@@dystopiaisutopia lol it has nothing to do with not having a job, it’s just a matter of habits
@@dystopiaisutopia Who hurt you ?
@@dystopiaisutopia if you don't have 30 mins to prepare breakfast then you have bigger issues in your life. first, it doesn't take 30 mins. second, your job isn't 24 hrs a day to not have a time to cook food.
“Everything I look at in my life now, I think “how can Conan make a riff of this?” 🤣
Yes!
poor Sona 😂
Why do I watch these I always listen to the podcast.
I do the same with all the podcasts.
Lol same, I started watching because I didn't know what Matt looked like
@@raycongfs whahaha same. I pictured a totally different guy before I saw him 😳
Always do the same too :)
Because we don’t get to see the video footage!
I always imagine Conan as more cartoony than he ends up being in these videos.
Love the image of Tak holding a glowing piece of the reactor, running away laughing maniacally, saying someday he will marry Sona😂
Yeah, it was my favorite part of the HBO show!
I hope someone on UA-cam makes an edit and sends it to them to react to.
Poor Tak getting trolled for no reason whatsoever 😂
And they're having twin boys! Sona+Tak=Wandavision confirmed
Conan is the anti-I-went-to-Harvard guy. He goes out of his way to avoid saying it.
@Edwin Wongsohe says things like “i went to a good college” or “i went to college”.
@Edwin Wongso he’s said on the podcast before that he doesn’t like to mention it. I thought he said it makes him uncomfortable
@Edwin Wongso You've got to be kidding.. to even ask that tells us you must not listen to a lot of his podcasts.
@@hyunglincho I think he is well known for his comedy, actually.
I like him for that
You realize you're watching organic comedy when it begins with microwaves and ends defending your boyfriend against Chernobyl accusations.
Really wish they would release the full podcast in video form like this!
Yes! I would totally watch it!
that's what i was just searching for! i want the whole video please!!
You just know the facial expressions involved are great!
It wouldn’t be a podcast then would it. I’ll be just like the regular show which is not the goal here.
@@1111rogerfederer a lot of the podcasts nowadays are releasing the video versions also. I like this because you can actually see their reactions, which adds to the experience of the conversational style. Doesn’t really matter to me whether or not you want to call it a podcast or not. You can also see objects and pictures they’re referencing, which would have been helpful when they have competitions between Conan and Sona (like the drawing one)
...that’s Tak’s origin story let’s sell it to Marvel
I lost at that bit
@@piyushpatil4679 same! This guy should be on TV...😁
I love when at 7:32 Conan immediately reacts with a outraged no, and Matt is like - yep, that's how it goes, and Conan does exactly what Sona feared
I saw this and clicked so hard and fast. Because I saw Sona's name on the title.
❤️ her
Me too
Sona is funny. Conan should be her assistant. (You’re welcome Sona. Thanks for my new car. Luv ya)
Simps
Yep same
Filipino parents: Buys a microwave (or any electric appliance)
Children: Tries to use it.
Filipino parents: Don't use it, it will increase our electricity bill.
This is so accurate.
This is true. Using it sucks up so much electricity. Why would you use it when you can just heat the food on a stove and use a little bit of propane?
At what point did your mom chase you with the tsinela? A part of me believes she tossed it off her foot onto her hand like a pinay ninja.
HAHAHAHAHAHAH Even for a minute
@@ixiahj What bizarre place you live where electricity costs more than propane. You can make so much electricity with so little fuel, or even produce it with hydroelectrics or solar panels, but propane is an incredibly limited natural resource.
I'm from the US but live in Europe and have gotten used to not having a microwave due to smaller kitchen space. I don't miss them and agree with Sona that food tastes better properly reheated on a stovetop or in an oven. And I too had nothing to do with Chernobyl.
But popcorn
@@iGaveLiaHIV Microwave popcorn is the worst. There's no comparison to fresh popcorn.
I assume you have your calendar of events from 1986 to back that up....
And one other question; are you heating Ramen noodles while you watch this?
Where were you when Princess Diana died, out of curiosity? 🤔
@@iGaveLiaHIV stovetop popcorn :)
Conan's personality has lasted through all the generations lol. Leno was out dated years ago.
His jaw is so outdated even Habsburgs tried to claim it
@@ArthurKnight1899 LMAOOOOO
True. Conan was always the slick one with the jokes.
I never found Leno funny. I've tried to give him a chance a few times, I just don't get it. He's like an 80's late show robot that couldn't be reprogrammed to be......funny.
"Conan: I went to a good college."
Conan knew if he would have said Harvard, the conversation would have changed course
You can just imagine Conan at the Simpsons writing room making these kind of stories up. He is so quick witted and creative.
Conan is the funniest human alive. I love how funny these three are together 😭😭
4:25 "do you wax Matt?"
Oh yeah
No
That was funny lol
I can’t believe that her husband Tac caused Chernobyl! That’s pretty troubling. I now sorta remember his name being mentioned when the disaster happened.
Yes, and the radiation gave him clairvoyance on who he was going to marry apart from being able to heat stuff up with his hands😁
Lol, "He had absolutely no involvement in Chernobyl"
Sona has a great voice and talking style..even better for podcast.
That Chernobyl bit is too funny LOL
I’m with Sona. Our microwave broke, never replaced it because we loved how our food tasted heated up in the oven and stove top. Going on 2 years now.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who's survived so far without a microwave
It tastes better reheating food on a stove/oven.
I like that Sona brought this up, because it made me realize that I also reheat most things on the stove. I really only use a microwave to make popcorn!
@Calle Andreasson That 'hehe' radiates mad chemistry teacher energy
Google "popcorn lung".
Seriously fucked up.
@Calle Andreasson Also, moot point, because you can microwave raw popcorn seeds, too... Just put it in a glass container to trap the steam...
Stovepipe popcorn is also great
Tak walking in the background going to heat up some lunch 8:19
With his powerful Chernobyl hands
As a Persian, we never had one either and I don't ever plan on having one myself in the future. It's useless in our lifestyle. We cook or heat up everything on stove.
As an Indian, that "lifestyle" is usually code for 'the wife stays home and does all the cooking so who needs a microwave'
Love the "heating sound" Conan does hahahahaha
I'm just glad that someone as delightful as Sona exists.
Sona's totally right. Food changes, texture and taste, after being microwaved. A French chef, originally from Armenia, taught me this -- so true!
"Food changes, texture and taste, after being microwaved"
That's total bs. It is the exact opposite. It doesn't change as much as when it is being cooked on a stove. A microwave heats from the inside out. A stove cooks from the outside inwards.
"A French chef, originally from Armenia, taught me this -- so true!"
No it is nonsense. Food from a microwave doesn't taste as good because it doesn't change the food as much. That's why a microwave is terrible to make a steak (you want to destroy/alter the cells in the meat) but perfect for vegetables because a microwave will keep more nutrients intact.
You just need to know what to use and not generalise food in general.
@Gwen Walravens Understanding that it's literally vibrating the water molecules available inside the dish you have inside the microwave makes a huge difference, too. If you're reheating something that's not already liquid based or has some type of crust, just sit a glass of water _beside_ your dish so there is more moisture to pull from without drying it out and making it taste different from how it was intended. Pizza is the easiest example of this but it can be anything - even vegetables. Heat your broccoli without frying the tops immediately. If your food is evolving, you're probably just doing something wrong. 😅
I'm not Armenian, but I hardly ever use my microwave to reheat stuff. You usually get better results with a stovetop or a toaster oven. Microwave is good for some things though, like melting butter
Love thinking there’s an Armenian who loves his microwave for melting butter and patchy the pirate.
I’m new to the podcast but find it interesting how everyone has guitars hanging on walls behind them 🤣
Never commented on UA-cam before. I'm Croatian. I do not use my microwave ever #TeamSona
Welcome :)
Why have you got one then
Someone could animate these post interview conversations and I’m down with it. Someone good with animation out there could use a job.
Way better than those persons asking for a show. DIY CONAF, I would love it
There's this one: ua-cam.com/video/EiU5EeRWnr0/v-deo.html by Brendan Miller about the fake Pokemons he talked about very early on, it's pretty good. This one with Tak's superpower origin story also deserves an animation though, I agree.
i like how they bought them mics but not HD webcams, going back watching these after listening to the pod back during covid feels more nostalgic with the low res
Conan and Sona are my favorite odd couple of all time. She's the perfect control system for him. He jokes but the respect is obvious that he has for her. And we are lucky to have them
So funny when Conan calls Sona a witch! :D
Admiring how they all have guitars on their walls. These are my people.
Yeah.I don’t have a microwave either , but I have a guitar.
Sona is so freekin cool, there is people in this world that pretty much everyone would be like yeah, of course we're friends.
I love Conan and Sona friendship
I LOVE Conan's and Sona's interactions lol literally them and Jordan S. Are awesome.
Great podcast guys, love you, thanks for helping me get through the pandemic.
I'd LOVE an accompanying video release to these podcasts!
Get an air fryer, you'll never use your microwave again.
It is a cultural thing. In some cultures, each meal is prepared fresh and consumed immediately or reheated on the stove
😂😂😂 poor Sona...you know when Conan needs a friend, it would be Sona 😧
Gotta agree with Sona. Food holds flavor so much more when it's reheated properly in an oven. Hell, even restaurants reheat some food with types of ovens after it gets portioned out during prep.
I was taking a drink of water right when Sona said "He had absolutely no involvement with Chernobyl" and almost spit it out laughing.
My favorite thing about Sona is the oh so subtle way that she says "oh ok", as if to say "ok whatever, I give up on you".
Wow, that took a turn I wasn't expecting. I feel like I should listen to more of their podcasts. Clearly I'm missing out on a lot of absurd conversations.
They're fantastic. Especially the pre and post guest conversations with just these 3 idiots.
I want all the podcast videos, so great
I like the plastic after taste from reheating plastic containers in the microwave.
Or don't eat plastic containers?
I am not Armenian, and I don't own a microwave. I reheat stuff on the stove, you just add a wee bit of water and it normally just takes a few mins.
This is Ghetto rule # 9
Why do they all have guitars hanging on the wall lol
Street cred._
Maybe because guitars are the most common instrument played in the world
@@paoloviray2799 Do you have guitars hanging on your wall?
@@Tom44224 If i said yes would you believe me

I like how Sona sounds like she's reading a press release when saying Tax had no involvement in Chernobyl.
Now I'm suspicious
This is so good! Conan is a genius writer
What a great invention that has made all of our lives better.
I mean Conan's podcast :-)
Is their podcast only audio or do they have video like this. I tried to listen to their podcast in spotify it's great but seeing their expressions totally adds another element to it.
As a kid, I had a friend who made "grilled cheese" by putting a slice of cheese on some bread and putting it in the microwave.
I do that. And it's great
Microwave makes bread gross
Sona, chef ramsay would be so proud of u
Damn always amazing how far conan CAN improvise
This got me remembering my first microwave. I believe it had like three power settings and a MECHANICAL timer and dinged like an alarm clock at the end.
This clip is how I remember he wrote for the Simpsons
Yes!!
As a movie lover, Sona must take forever to make the popcorn for the weekly flick.
BAHAHAh I love how the podcast ends...super simple and yet brilliant editing.
As a lifelong microwave user, I consider microwaved leftover pizza a cultural staple of our community
This turned into an amazing bit:)
took my food out of the microwave and set down in front of the computer just as Sona said "who needs all the radiation"
Sona!!! YESSS 😍 never clicked so fast

i absolutely lost it when conan made that radioactive power noises
I'm from the Caucasus, grew up in Russia. My father's friend and business partner is Armenian, so our families have always been friends. Both of our families didn't have microwave ovens until like mid-2000s. But once they became easily accessible and cheap enough, both of us bought it and been using them ever since. I don't think it's an Armenian cultural thing. It's just that Soviet people grew up without it, and some of them are apparently resistant to change.
Conan’s the best. He’s always funny. Some might miss, but in this kind of setting, he’ll always have a great bit here or there
It’s weird these don’t go into the UA-cam rotation
I like how you can see Tak (?) in the background as Conan talks about him at 8:02
I would be laughing & joining in with his crazy stories, embellishing them even more, all the live long day 😄
They all have guitars hanging on the walls...like hunting trophies.
I couldn't agree more with Sona! I'm 34, a 6th generation American and live in the SF bay area. I have no microwave and heat up my food in the oven or on the stove.
Watching these three cook up a bit is like watching three chefs collaborate to make a fine stew.
i love you guys so much!
Conan describes heating food up like he’s Jordan 😂😂
My grandmother, italian, did the same thing, she reheat the foot.
I don’t have one either Sona lol
I listened to this on the podcast already but I laughed like it's the first time 😂 😂 😂
I hardly use the microwave anymore. Two words: AIR FRYER. Comes out crispy!
Convection oven microwave combo!! TFW!!
One word: OATS
"There's not radiation shooting out of a microwave, they fixed that problem like 2 years ago" 🤣🤣
I’m Armenian and I can mostly attest to this. We had one that came with a new house when I was a kid, the moment we had to get a new stove we got rid of it.
No toasters or microwave. Just toaster-ovens and stoves.
We moved into a new house and didn’t notice there was no included microwave and no convenient spot for one. Still haven’t bought one...rarely miss it.
That's all he's saying, boys.
That Sona is Scarlett Witch and her husband is a cybernetic humanoid that was destroyed by Thanoose.
SIMPLE, REALLY.
I love that every one of them has a guitar in the background 😂
I reheat a lot of food in a toaster oven but I do use a microwave when needed.
