Then there is the added cost of the nitrous, having to replace bottles, always pulling and checking the plugs, etc. If it were mine I wouldn’t mess with it.

Guy that did a lot of the mechanic work on a friend's Fox body (his name was Courtney, maybe?) built a 460 Fox body in the early 1990's. He picked up a low miles 85 or 86 GT that needed a motor and a 70's Lincoln Town Car for a donor. 150 shot of nitrous and it hauled ass.
I'd like to see weight distribution of that BBF vs your turbo cars. That would be great info. Never found any concrete info, just uncles brothers cousins claims of heavy and shitty handling.
460's are so underated and I'd argue they are one of the best big blocks this will make gm boys mad but they are better than a 454 as well in my opinion you can stroke them out wayyyyy more than a 454 their bottom ends are stronger and the 460 is more of a torque monster than the 454
Keep em coming I'll watch em, by the way I pulled those gt40p heads and intake today looks like they were rebuilt very clean. I'll try the 90° boots soon.
Yeah, but it would add stress to a lot of other components potentially making it less reliable and even less consistent. It all depends on how he races the car (bracket vs heads up) and how what he wants out of it vs time and money out into it. Going into the 9’s would also require him to get a license and upgrade his safety gear. Seems he enjoys the car exactly as it is and that is the most important thing right?
What heads are on the motor? If it’s something decent throw some compression and more duration at the thing and take her down even lower. The last 460 Fox we put together had 72cc chamber P51’s, stock stroke with a .030 over piston that gave it about 14.5:1 static with a healthy comp K34 cam and that car at ~2980 race weight traps 140s and goes low 6’s in the 1/8th so it’s easily a mid 9 second car in the 1/4. It has a pretty trick chassis under it, though with a 4 link. Still though, just proves what a simple old truck block can do NA in a fox body. Your going 10.20s and from the sound of it that motor you have isn’t running much cam and probably under 12:1. Yet it still performs. And at least in my area you can still find 7.5L/460s in the wrecking yard to pull out of old trucks for a couple hundred bucks usually.
