You've guided me to grow out my beard the way i imagined it to be. Also guided me through lifes unexpected spirals. You are the very best mentor. Thank you sir!
Your mustache is on point this video!!! Love your advice and guidance; starting my beard growth journey, been growing for ~2 month now! Look forward to watching more of your videos, you are very inspiring.
I know this video is a few years old, but I completely agree. I do carve a neck line (one-half to one finger-width above the Adam's apple) the first 8 weeks but at that 8 week mark, the razor goes in the garbage and it all just grows from there.
I commented on this video 9 months ago, been growing my neck line hair ever since. Defo one of the best beard advices I've received. Now it's winter in the UK I've got a new problem, so much of my beard hair is falling out with minimal brushing and minimal touching. I keep it moist, oil twice a day. No idea how to stop it falling out. I also need to shape it but don't trust ANY barber in London lool. I have issues...
the cheese wedge comes from alot of different angles. it can be insecurity from a patchy beard or it can be for lack of having patience to grow out a full beard, there's also the possibility that not all beards were made equal. i did it one time back when i wasnt even taking care of it properly or knowing where to trim and i regret it now. ive learned so many new things from watching your channel. and i plan on sticking to it. im not about to waste four years of growth.
Thank you so much. I have struggled with my neck hair while my beard is growing. I was trimming it constantly , now that my beard is getting much thicker I have stopped shaving my neck. Happy for this video that I am doing the right thing! :D
George, just found you and subbed immediately. Your beard/'stache is exactly what I am going for. I am about 3-1/2 months in....going to keep on growing. Thanks Sultan!
can relate to all of this, always pulling my beard from my t-shirt when pulling it on,always gone natural and haven't shaved the neckline,I'm 14 months in and only had a few tidy ups, great video.Subscribed 😊
Your video just answered a question I've always had about the bottom part of beard because it was always unwilling to grow as fast as the top of my beard. This time, I'll be patient to grow it out and see what happens.
No wonder my flipping beard looks like it's 1 pixel cheese wedge the whole time. I keep making the mistake of 2 fingers above Adams apple. This video makes so much sense. Not even a need for a neck line once beard covers. Gonna have to grow my neck hair to match my beard now...gonna take ages... Thanks for the videos, great tips on your channel. Professional bearder
As always you've given me perfect advice for exactly where my beard is right now. And also, I have tried the Jojoba and grape seed oil combo you recommended with a touch of peppermint and sandalwood oil. It's perfect. Thank you so much! As far as something with a bit of hold to it, I have found that I really like the American Crew Grooming Cream and/or Pomade. Thanks again for all your advice. Great channel. I watch it every day. I wish I lived near you so I could come for a shape up in a few months.
These are great tips. On my way to 3rd beard. Coming in very slow be course my plan was to "style" my way into it this time instead of going full on woodsman, but I might be cheesing this time around. I think in my chase it´s doh to bad head angles when I cut´N´shape and overdoing it.
After the 4th month I shaved my neck which had only a few unsightly hairs that weren't doing anything for the beard. I also shaved off a bit under my ears which was growing around the back of my head and freaking people out. In a couple more months my neck won't even be visible so I'll stop shaving it, as I hate the stubble feeling. I'm actually starting to get compliments as I approach the 5th month. I also used the clippers on the side burns about two inches under the arms of my glasses.
im really glad I found your videos. I'm more than a month in and I made the mistake of trimming around the jawline and then I watched your video about cutting around straight across the neckline so now I'm just going 2 have 2 let it grow and go through some of the itchiness again
Im growing a big beard so i haven't shaved the neck or cheek line from day one , im not touching my beard for at least 6 months and when i do im going to have a professional give it a very light trim 👍🇺🇸.
Thank You Gray Bailey. I like your videos as you have one of the nicest beards on the enternet. I have had questions going in my mind about the neck line and recently decided oh hell with it I'll just let it grow. I'm just getting through the itchy phase on my neck. I agree with you about the wedge look.
I'm researching how to take care of my Bfs beard since hes been complaining about being itchy. Thank you for this! He wanted me to trim under his neck to help, not doing it! Onto the next video!
hi George, thank you for the instructive hints. That helps me a lot and motivates me. if I may say by the way, some comment writers would not have internet access but sometimes a psychiatrist. But that's another topic. Greetings from Bavaria (Germany) sends you Alex. Keep it up.
George, I realise that this vid is a few years old, but I love your stache here and was wondering if you recall if you were using wax for the handlebar or something like a Layrite type-product that you've mentioned previously. Many thanks!
I'm almost 20, and my beard is getting past that "peach fuzzy" look, and it has a dirty blonde look, being lighter in color on the cheeks fading into a darker brown at the jaw line and underneath the neck (even though in the sun, people call me red beard). It's been about a week and a half since I recently started growing it out to see how it looks after a few months - going for a viking beard (aka Lasse Matberg).. Also, the usual spot underneath the chin that's just now growing in hair - will my goatee grow in and practically fill in that spot? I look at your beard as encouragement, and something to keep me going as a young beard grower, keep the videos coming.
Appreciate it, I've been thinking of trimming my beard just because now that it's over a foot long (old avatar) it's thinning towards the bottom and I know it's because of the 2 finger's I keep shaving underneath even now. Time to just deal with the pokes, I'm sure you're right!
I really like your mustache. However I'm in a different path there! I have been growing it and train it. I won't the hair by the philthrum to reach to the end of the stache! Yours does look amazing as is!'
Ok. this is not something only i have been looking for! you cant find info on this anywhere! us guys letting the neck go need more info. ive finally convinced my barber to stop shaving any of my neck. im 6 weeks in. neck beard grows fast. i realize now how much i need this for fullness! im patient. your beard is friggin great! how long is your beard???
I've been growing my white beard about 5 months and I measured it from the bottom of my lower lip to the bottom of the beard, and it's about 5 inches, I love the lenght of yours, how long is your beard and have you shaped it in anyway
"And THAT'S.... the bottom line". Hey George, my goal is to grow my beard long enough so as to create a thick braid that runs from the chin down to who knows where. Question I have is: Should I bring the neck line up and if so, where in relation to the adam's apple should the neck line be?
Great advice! My beard is just now getting to the length of my adams apple and was wondering what to do about the undertrim just this week actually. (how convenient lol) What are your thoughts on trimming the back edges below the ear? I feel like leaving it alone but if I do I am almost positive it will grow right into my neck hair...
The only thing that pisses me off about my beard is that my mustache and beard don't connect. I have no hair growing at the corners of my mouth. (also my mustache is noticeably thinner than my beard, not bushy and beautiful) I've been trying to grow my mustache to connect them for months and it just doesn't seem like it's meant to be. I'll keep trying but it's pretty disheartening. Then again, I'm only 20, so maybe I just need to wait.
My beard is about 4 inches below my chin, and I have my beard line at my adam's apple. However, that was after about two months of growth I realized I had my beard under line too high. So the hard that is by my adam's apple is two months shorter than the rest of my beard. However, after watching this, I think you convinced to me to just put the razor down and let it go. Though I may need to do some slight trimming. My hair continues right now my neck onto my chest. I shave my chest every couple weeks, so I DO need to trim somewhat of a line somewhere, whether it be on my collar bone or the base of the neck. Any suggestions?
Awesome video! You were so helpful with my last question so I have another for you. Do you constantly clean up your cheeks? I get tiny hairs that I've never seen grow longer than 1/4 inch. Now I've always assumed these hairs only grow to about that length and I NEED to cut them or else I'll have a not-so-clean-looking beard. Is this the case for you as well? Your skin looks very smooth above the cheek line so it's hard to tell if you have the same issue lol. My hope is these hairs could grow and incorporate into my beard, but again it has always seemed they only grow to a certain length.
Hello again Bruno, I believe the ancient Greeks used to sculpture their beards, I believe the man that has the best beard is actually the dude that does the very least to his beard......If we can just get them to brush the damn things......See ya, Cheers....Big
my beard is white i'm a senior my upper cheeks grow hair . i liked that comb i have a sallys near me . elliot tattleman of jordans furniture fame has a very nice close beard.
What do you suggest for me? My beard is at 11 months so you definitely can't see anything under, but I can literally grow a turtleneck. My entire neck, shoulders, chest, and back are completely covered. There is no natural end like most guys have. Right now, I keep it down to my Adam's apple and fairly straight down to there on the sides.
Personally I would let it go. I dont have that issue (but dont call it a problem lol). I like to go as natural as possible with as little maintenence. just keep it clean soft and blowdried.
Hi, another great video and I really enjoy your content. but I have a beard query. I have a large beard but it seems to consist of two types of hair. The front and sides are straight but the underside of the beard is curled and often tangles. I comb and maintain my beard quite well with balms and oils but the underside always seems to coil. Is there a remedy for this or is it merely the trait of my beard? Thanks and keep up the good work.
I would like to see how you trim the sides of your beard. I had seen in one of your videos that you wanted to grow the sides longer and if I'm getting it right you are wanting the tips of the sides to reach the bottom of the beard. So does that mean that you never trim the sides?
well that was entertaining. ...good job Gray. Finally, someone who knows what they're talking about. (not a fan of the pointy stache but oh well) cheers. What's with the creepy dude head there? or is it only me that sees that?
I have been growing a year beard to help raise money for The Children's Miracle Network. Ive been going on 9 weeks of growth now and I've been shaving my neck underneath my neckline. I'm noticing my neckline starting to get some length to it and it's curling up along my neck. My question is should I trim up that hair or just let it grow out? As of right now I just comb it back towards my ears so it's not hanging down.
You've guided me to grow out my beard the way i imagined it to be. Also guided me through lifes unexpected spirals.
You are the very best mentor.
Thank you sir!
I started laughing so hard when he got mad at the cheese wedge hahah
yeah i tried for a while but i couldn't make a cheese wedge to save my life. Gone hippy like Willie. but cared for.
I love how simple he makes things. Let it grow. Let it flow. 💗
Your mustache is on point this video!!! Love your advice and guidance; starting my beard growth journey, been growing for ~2 month now! Look forward to watching more of your videos, you are very inspiring.
Mr Bruno thanks for that advice on the neck line. Im at the two finger phase, cant wait to see my beard grow full.
I know this video is a few years old, but I completely agree. I do carve a neck line (one-half to one finger-width above the Adam's apple) the first 8 weeks but at that 8 week mark, the razor goes in the garbage and it all just grows from there.
I'm so glad I saw this. I've been shaving that underneath area for years and you completely talked me out of it.
Wish I would've found a video like this about a year ago
I commented on this video 9 months ago, been growing my neck line hair ever since. Defo one of the best beard advices I've received. You will lose alot of hair but dont worry. It's normal for a longer beard
@@ListenMySon good to have that reassurance 😂 any people in London you can recommend (and trust) to safely shape my beard?
the cheese wedge comes from alot of different angles. it can be insecurity from a patchy beard or it can be for lack of having patience to grow out a full beard, there's also the possibility that not all beards were made equal. i did it one time back when i wasnt even taking care of it properly or knowing where to trim and i regret it now. ive learned so many new things from watching your channel. and i plan on sticking to it. im not about to waste four years of growth.
that's a righteous beard and stash! that is the length and style I'm shooting for. thanks for your awesome videos.
Growing my first real beard, on month 3. Looking forward to the journey.
Thank you so much. I have struggled with my neck hair while my beard is growing. I was trimming it constantly , now that my beard is getting much thicker I have stopped shaving my neck. Happy for this video that I am doing the right thing! :D
Wish I had seen this one 6 mos. ago. Thanks for all your info. Retired military so just learning about proper beard care.
Thank you for your service sir!GB

Finally!!! Been wanting to see a video like this since starting my yeard (11wks). Makes so much sense, much appreciated George!!
Thanks so much I keep restarting do to the line . What you just said make so much sense thanks sultan !!!
Im just hitting a year. Love it in the wind while I am riding.
That's right, Brother!!
I hate to shave my neck anyway, and I never understood the 'wedge beard' thing either!
I absolutely agree with cheese wedge disdain.
No wonder my flipping beard looks like it's 1 pixel cheese wedge the whole time. I keep making the mistake of 2 fingers above Adams apple. This video makes so much sense. Looking forward to the process, going through the awkward /hobo phase . Excited to see how it looks 6 months in . Hope you are well brother !

I'm all about that angular wedge style beard.
I hear you. Different beard styles work with different preferences, face shape, neck length, and growth patterns. I wish you the best! Cheers!
I had a question and you answered it perfectly. Thank you!
Thanks for the great advise, I could never line up my beard.
Thank you, George - sage advice!!
Awesome beard! I just cut mine after 3 years... Now I just want to let it grow back where I left it..
Im growing a big beard so i haven't shaved the neck or cheek line from day one , im not touching my beard for at least 6 months and when i do im going to have a professional give it a very light trim 👍🇺🇸.
I love you man. You just taught me more in one video than a dozen others. Oh and I hate that sharp line nightclub beard shit too.
Awesome video. I’ve wanted to know how you trimmed your handlebar mustache in this video.

Thanks!

The wedge happens because the chin hair grows faster than the hair between the neck region of Adam's apple and area under chin

that was awesome. with a beard like that i believe everything you r saying
I think the angled beard became a trend with the 300 movie. In the movie, Leonidas has a very and sharply angled/cheese wedged beard.

what a cool channel.

What are your thoughts on trimming the back edges below the ear? I feel like leaving it alone but if I do I am almost positive it will grow right into my neck hair...
leave the hair under and behind your ear. that will grow long and eventually down towards your collarbone area
Ok I'll give that a TRY... I was just curious because it looks like yours was lined up... Thanks again!

When george speaks, look at the bottom line of his beard....because of a slight parting, it looks like the beard is talking as well.😁😁

Great Video . Thank You !
at what point do I stop shaving my neck ? I am 5 weeks in ,about 3\4 inch length.
THANKS now i let it All Grow
OK....No more Cheese wedge. Good to know because I'm lazy and hated trimming it anyway LOL .
