It's funny , Japanese are keeping rules but S.korean are totally breaking the rules. Chinese are also breaking the rules as well . But they all look a like.
They should have made this pump illegal the moment it come out. It so easy to dig 10 clams with a shovel but if you are to lazy to do it then you shouldn’t be out there. The pump collapse the cave that the clams spend years to digs and any clams that is too deep and can’t be pull out end up being trap, starve and die to the pressure. It’s inhuman
It actually has been controversial, because some claim that the pump is better than shovel because it reduces the chance the small clam got cutoff and discarded by shovelers. We actually do not know which side is right before research though. Glad that the biologists came out the conclusion and they made actions.

you have no idea of what you're even talking about you're saying that it's better to dig a three or four foot diameter bomb crater destroying every clam in the way, plus burrying the siphon holes of so many other clams with the dirt you dig up. rather than water jet a 4-5 inch diameter holes in only Disturb what is right in that hole. What an idiot The only reason these got banned is too many complaints that it makes it too easy.
@@gypsyfreedom9836 if you have to dig a 4-5 foot diameter hole for one clam then you obviously don’t know what you are doing so please don’t talk. Most people who goes for them just use a pvc pipe that is 10” diameter and dig slowly down. It guaranteed that you get to geoducks and gaper clam that live in the deep. You think a human hand can reach 4-5’ deep into the sand even with the pump? Both method got it good and bad side but the pump would wipe out the species because it give people too much of and advantage. That why it only use in commercial clam farm. I’ve been doing this for 20 years and trust me when I say the population of gaper class drop drastically after two years of people using the pump. You can either banned the pump or banned clamming, which one do you think would hurt recreational fisherman more? We all saw what happened to the abalone population
@@kentnguyen5356 please do your research. the pump is a lot less destructive than using a shovel. the pump was banned because poachers using pumps are clearing out the clam beds before they can be replaced naturally. Last year DFG counted people out there clamming 300 days out of the year because the pump method doesn't need to have a negative tide. It was all about over harvesting. another solution would had been to allow for the pumps but reduce daily bag and possession limits. I too have been clamming for decades and am glad i have my own methods for catching gapers, razor clams, washington, and geoducks.
I saw you ate the reddish top of the syphon. I heard that is where the toxin accumulated and may not taste good? Sorry to hear about the banning. I guess now it will all be memories.
that's not true at all, that's just Americans being afraid of everything - they heard "the dark parts are poisonous", which is not logically correct. The poisonous parts are usually dark, but not all dark parts are poisonous, get it? Even so, some poisonous parts are not dark. The parts you should be wary about are the main bulgy part connected to the foot. that's the guts, organs, stomach, gonads... if you cook it, it has the texture of cottage cheese. the whole foot, mantle, adductor muscles, and siphon are good and safe to eat.
I think @chimyshark have explained it pretty well. the reddish top part needs some time to clean up definitely, but I actually like it better for its crunchy bite. Like most of the fish and game the toxic, or unhealthily high concentration of heavy metal and other bad stuff part, is the organ parts.
Sorry but if your going to post video like you are please don't be a poacher like you just were. Pay attention to the regulations!!! You got lucky fish and game didn't catch you.
请问这种水泵在哪里买?我查water pump 或者hydraulic pump没查到...加州ban了但是别的州还能用~

i wont put it in this way but the only thing i am sure about is that i myself never breaks the rule

lawsons landing is always the best place!
请问这个是永久ban还是180天ban
没有限期,一般就是永久
Pump is illegal now
Yes as I have put in the title and video description this video is taken months ago and it is a farewell vid to my water pump lol
UP主穿的是什么衣服啊,这都要湿透了吧。
是一件rei的骑行雨衣,速干的,基本所有渔猎活动都好用
Super penguin 👍
haha thanks!

haha we can live without the pump!
those were hella big! Makes mine look lame haha! Good job getting them in such high water levels too
yup high water level is not easy for sure. with the pump being banned, it is near impossible
