- Clamming for Gapers in Oregon was a hoot! We managed to get a limit, brought them home, and turned them into an amazing New England Clam Chowder Soup!!! If you want to see how much fun it is digging for gapers, the easiest way to clean and process the meat, or learn a new, easy & delicious, recipe to prepare with your catch, this is the video for you!

Amazing eats!!! I love all the pointers, while you guys are foraging!!
Love both of your enthusiasm, what fun!
Glad you enjoyed our Gaper Clamming video!! Thanks for your nice comments!! 😀
You are like a kid playing in mud. 😄This is an awesome video!
Thank you!!!🙂
Being from Leominster Massachusetts, I can tell you when it comes to making New England Clam Chowder or Chow-dah. I start with pork belly, and never put corn in clam chowder, Corn Chowder is where corn goes. But its all about preferences.
Thanks for sharing. We always appreciate tips from connoisseur.
If you're up for a Geoduck Hunt and just out of the sand Geoduck Sashimi Beach Side, you've got an open invitation here in Mason County the Worldwide Geoduck Mecca.
Just imagine a delicate Geoduck dipped in soy sauce and wasabi. Washed down with Asahi Super Dry or my favorite a Kirin Ichiban. Mount Rainer and the Olympic Mountains often come along for the dig and love sashimi too. Weather dependent on how much liquid sunshine...
Geodak wo motsu te ki te = come have a geoduck in Japanese!
Wow! That sounds great. We were just talking about visiting your area this spring/summer. It’s been on our bucket list for a long time. Our e-mail is catchndinner@gmail.com. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi, great video! I’m so curious, have you ever found a pearl?
Not in a gaper clam, but we found a big pearl in an abalone in Northern California. Alison had a nice pendant made with it.
still yet to find the crabbing video from Oregon
We meant to make the crabbing video, but we got busy and never edited the footage before our hard drive got dropped and we lost all of the data! Sorry!!! Guess we’ll just have to go back and do it again! 😁
I wouldn’t discard any of it. I’d steam them in the shell, dip them in butter and eat em whole.
Good to know. We’ll try it next time. Thanks!
I just stretch the neck as much as i can and the skin comes right off.
Thanks for the tip!
This clam is called a Quahog.
And the shovel your using is better suited for Pacific Razor Clams.
Thanks for the info. We were planning on mainly targeting Razor Clams, but our plans changed last minute. Next spring we will try again for Razor Clams. A big section on the Coast was closed to harvesting due to high toxin levels. Hope it’s better next year. 🤞🏼
In Winchester bay. Please send a dm your location. For sure want to make a day drive.
We were just outside of Coos Bay on the flats.
Where is this?
Coos Bay
@@CatchNDinner WE WERE JUST THERE! WHERE EXACTLY IN COOS BAY?
Put the video when you went too grand Mesa
Working on it. Should be out soon. 🙂
No, use half and half.
Thanks for the suggestion!
