Another cool thing about this song is they use the same melody in the chorus as they did in the intro of Kirisute Gomen. A nice touch to finish off the album.
This one is easily their best one imo. Something from Ascendancy would be nice. The title track, Suffocating Sight, A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation or Pull Harder on the Strings of your Martyr would be nice. 🤘
This song is definitely considered one of the band's masterpieces, though every Shogun song is great. From Ascendancy, I'd recommend tracks like Departure, Rain, and Suffocating Sight.
The Shogun is essentially the premier warlord in Japan as chosen by the Emperor himself to lead the Samurai and the forces of Japan. This song is about noble combat during the Sengoku (Warring States) era, and defeating the dishonorable. An absolute Travis Smith drum clinic, as well as a track with some of the best guitar work Matt and Corey have ever laid down.
Trivium is really cool! Another song I like a lot is 'catastrophist'. Have you ever heard of André Matos? He has great songs you may enjoy listening to. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2019 but it's easy to find his works, not only solo but also in Shaman and Angra.
Good reaction. It's very important to note that anything pre-Silence in the Snow (album, look it up release date wise) Matt was actually damaging his vocals with his screams. So the post SITSnow albums he screams differently. In my opinion it's waay better, but some hold onto the old shogun or prior style. (which was actively damaging his vocals btw)
This is their best track imo. The crescendo from bridge to solo to chorus is literally perfect metal

Very intriguing and interesting meaning. Thanks for letting me know.
Great reaction man, definitely in my top 3 from their whole discography

A shame to hear that. Will check it out for sure.
