Her raspy, unrelenting deliver is unparalleled in the modern pop era of tongue choking music like Ke$ha and Minaj. Her talent is so far above and beyond pop radio I hope that she just sticks to her core being and produces music to those of us that follow her. Hell yes, Lissie. Rock on.

its funny. in today's day and age where music is manufactured then churned out to meet a criteria for dollars and created to sound a certain way so it can be popular. it just can't stand next to something like this. a song that has a soul with such character. that's why classic rock will never die. lissie was awesome - this band does such a good job of changing the sound enough to be a refreshing cover - and yet keeping the soul of the song in tact. all the covers have been like this that ive seen so far. love it.

I suggest delving deeper into some independent labels or not sooo mainstream artists. WKEXP in Seattle has an entire series of awesome artists who perform live in studio. They have tons of videos from very eclectic and diverse artists, I'm sure you can find a few to smile about Frowntown. lol sorry couldn't resist.

Lissie must have Big Brass Ones and a Zen-like calm to have coolly stepped into the mouth of the Lion's Den in Great Britain to sing in the BBC2 Studio in 2010 , no less, a cover of a National Icon of a song ... with Robert Plant at the station while she's doing it ... Eric & Lewis both gave stellar performances ... according to Chris Evans, the host of "The Great British Songbook" on BBC2, it was the BEST cover of one of the greatest R&R songs of all times he'd heard to date... Kudos to Lissie, Eric & Lewis ...
What puzzles me is a lot of you are criticising her for not playing her own stuff, not playing in the right key, playing too low, too soft. She has her own songs but even if she didn't, who cares?? Even if she was the most flawed singer out there, who cares? The only important thing is she loves what she does and sings from her heart. And against that there is no law.

This version is a distant echo of the original (taking nothing away from Lissie's incredible talent), but it is an amazingly beautiful song especially in its original Led Zeppelin form!

Saadman The only way to cover this song is to really change it up. Which, of course, will take it further away from the original, but at least a heavily modified cover can stand on it's own merit. That being said, I'm okay with this cover. It's played pretty straight.

I told the people in Metalheads For Life, to shoot me. Lissie has covered some of rocks iconic ballads and done them well, way back from a decade or more. I just found these this morning. I first listened to Little Lovin' and Daughters, and I knew from then on, there would be nothing she and her band did that I wouldn't like. Still true, listening to these covers.
I like the girl's body language. She seems to really dig the song. She can't keep from jumping around to the song and that's how us old folks feel when we hear it too.
I usually avoid covers of this song, Ann and Nancy Wilson won't even touch this one, but some reason I gave this band a chance at it and I was pleasantly surprised.
