Hey Alec, great work buddy! We have just installed 2 twin hearth coke forges with 4 anvil ready stations over at our Farrier forge just outside Newmarket (45 mins from you). We now have a couple of apprentice farriers working with us and can even accommodate horses coming in for shoeing. Next stage is some work benches or 'Horizontal spaces' as you like to call them! If you are free sometime call in it would be awesome to catch up and show you around!! Take it easy buddy. Alex

Alec... You've already shown your own talents for creating things beyond your skill level. Learning along the way is a valuable skill in itself. I'm thrilled that you have guests on your channel who are willing to 'learn while doing' as well. I think it is very enlightening to viewers to see that even a novice blacksmith is able to create something they are proud of, when working next to a master talent like yours. Continue to expand your sphere of influence, and show others how to surprise themselves with results. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!

Hey Alec, great videos. Have you ever considered making an authentic Seax? Since that style of knives was so prevelant for centuries in England I thought it would be a cool project for you. If you want to go authentic you should use wrought iron for the back, maybe an wroughtiron/steel forgewelded middlesection and steel for the edge. If you look up Paul Binns for example he makes amazing copies with amazing patterns in the blades. Also the scholagladiatoria channel for a start has a nice amount of vids about the history of the blades. Keep up the good work and hope to see a historical build soon!

    Bowie is pronounced
    Boo-ie or bü-ee
I lived in bowie az USA, near where the fort bowie ruins are, and is named after the historical figure James Bowie.
The proper pronunciation is Boo-ie, but of course there's different accepted versions, but that is how it is intended.
