- Let's take a look at E Sky's new 150 V2 micro fixed pitch ready to fly RC helicopter. From unboxing and a close look at the mechanical layout; to first flight, and overall thoughts. This little heli is touted by many to be one of the best micro FP machines on the market right now, especially considering the low cost. Do I agree? You'll have to watch ;-)

Awesome review. Very detailed. Thank you John.
I like that little chopper! Good review!
RC drones never cease to intrigue me
thanks for this im gonna buy this later on ill share my thoughts
Awesome. I want one 😀
Thank you.
I'm back in the sky!
Great review.
Glad you enjoyed it
Shame we do not have them here in Holland :(
In the back of that transmitter there are two rubber caps if you remove them is it possible that it tightens up the gimbal on the controlling sticks you seem to be pretty smart I'm about helicopters so I'm asking you
I actually cover this very question in my full review of the 150 V2 on my website: www.rchelicopterfun.com/esky-150-v2.html
Quick answer: No adjustment is possible.
I've just got one an I needed some info as the instructions are awful lol, thanks 👍
Nice review John. I got this heli but in BNF mode. How would you go about using my own RX on this? I fly Spektrum.
Assuming you are referencing the 150 XP2 version, I talk about it and the various RX connectivity procedures in my full 150 V2 review on my website. It's about 4/5ths of the way down the review page under the heading "Esky 150 XP2 Version." Here's the link to that page: www.rchelicopterfun.com/esky-150-v2.html
@@Rchelicopterfunhey John, it looks like the part you’re referencing isn’t on that page any longer.
I just got the new V3 version and I’m having trouble getting it going. It also seems that it’s TAER instead of AETR
I've seen recommendation for this (Esky 150 V2), the V911s and the Eachines e119 as a good first heli before jumping to CP. People seem to be pretty passionate about each of them. Which would you recommend?
I think I've crossed the V911s off the list.
@ryan52403 The 150V2 would be my top pick. Shared parts with the Blade 70S which is nice if you have a local hobby shop and need to run to get a part quicky.
where can I purchase this with a few additional batteries ?
Zonda hobby (one of places I link to in the description) have them so if you get your 150 V2 from Zonda Hobby, you can get the packs from them as well at time of order. The part # for the packs are: ESKY005435a
Banggood likely has "workable" aftermarket packs as well, but finding 1S 150 mAh packs with those wired Picoblade plugs is not easy. There are just not that many out there; so to be sure, it's best to stick with the ESky ones.
Nice heli, I just purchased the Blade 70s which I think is pretty much the same helicopter, really enjoying it. Liked it so much that I purchased a second one for a backup. The tail light is cool, the Blade 70s doesn’t have the tail light.
Can this heli be bound to a spectrum computer radio?
Nope, doesn't use dsm2/x protocol.
Would it fly outside well on a calm day?
Very calm day 🙂
Thanks for this review.
This is my very first RC helicopter.
I found that the flight time after a full battery charge was some 4 to 5 minutes. Is this correct, or should the battery hold more charge?
Also, how do I calibrate it?
It seems that it doesn’t stay stable as yours. When I lift it off it sims to spin very slowly or to move forwards without any input from me.
I’m looking forward to your response and thank you very much in advance!
Yes, that's typical flight time.
John Salt Thank you very much. Would there be an option or another rc helicopter that has a far longer battery life? I’m asking because I find that the 5 minutes don’t seem to be enough to practice and learn. It would be nice to have something that flies for some 10 minutes at a time, so that I could get a grip of the basics, before I have to recharge for 20minutes...
Not until you get into bigger electric collective pitch helicopters (450 and larger) can you get up to perhaps 10 minute flight times, but you need tame settings and fly conservatively to pull it off. If you want longer than that, you pretty much have to start looking to nitro or gas power. All micro size RC helicopters, both fixed & collective pitch have anywhere from 3 to 6 minute flight times. Even less with the collective pitch ones when flown aggressively at full power. Micro RC helicopters have tiny capacity batteries in them after all as they are not powerful enough to lift much weight. That is why you need several LiPo packs for back to back flights. That's how we all get by that issue. On micro's I find I need at least 3 LiPo packs to have any amount of fun. I cover this topic in detail on my electric RC helicopter page on my website: www.rchelicopterfun.com/electric-helicopters.html
John Salt ok thank you very much for your response and the great deal of information! 💯💯💯
Broke mine after an hour trashed the throttle motor
Could you hook up a TBS crossfire nano RX to it?
No idea.
Is this a 3D flying helicopter??
It's a fixed pitch micro heli, not a collective pitch heli... thus no aerobatics.
Can you give this to me
Plz i am your big rc fan from India
